I have been putting off taking the USMLE exam for a while bc I'm afraid I"ll fail it. That book of problem feels so daunting when you feel you have to relearn everything from the beginning. Glad I ran across this video
I took the step 1 exam last month, I'm very disappointed, the exam is not even close to the practice material the prep sells online . The level of difficulty is like 5x to 6x. It's never easy 😢
The USMLE won't be a problem if you work with someone like Mr Oliver , you need to see how frustrated I was not only frustrated I was always thinking on how to go with my exam .he is God sent he saved me from taking the test for the 3rd time, now am preparing for step 2. Very trustworthy man
After using the Uworld prep review twice and failing, I never thought I could ever pass the step 1, but today am very happy I just passed the exam on my third attempt too with the help of Mr Oliver , but how y'all know about him🥺🥺
I have finished my first pass with 35% accuracy and was very disappointed. My uwsa1 was terrible i was very disappointed after months of dedication. I will change the strategy and hope to increase my score. Thank you Amboss
The lecturer looks like Money Heist Spain’s professor 🧑🏫 😮. Sorry if you don’t like Money heist tho, I only mean it as a compliment. Have yet to watch this whole video but looks promising. Thank you so much Amboss
This was very helpful. A lot of knowledge to help with study strategy. Also I can't help but ask was I the only person who thought Dr.Zebulon's face while talking looks like the A in Amboss. Awesome stuff
Hi AMBOSS , plz gently I want to know what are the most reliable ,useful and recommended references and if there is any official high-yield reference from NBME Thank you for you amazing channel
How is question number 6, the one with positively birefringent crystals, not complete factual knowledge? I mean this is not application of basic science principles but just learning by heart, isn't it?
Hi Alex! Dr. Zeb here from the video. All of these biochemistry terms and pathways sure can get confusing! The way I think of it is: Malonyl-CoA is an important step in fatty acid synthesis, so it's important that it inhibits the carnitine palmitoyltransferase I (the rate-limiting step of fatty acid oxidation) from transfering acyl-CoA back into mitochondria; otherwise, the body would be wasting energy to create fatty acids that will just be broken down. I hope that helped! You can read more about this in the "Lipids and their metabolism" AMBOSS article.
I know a very stupid question. Why they have designed the exam day to be 7 am in the morning on the test day? Why can't it be flexible for an individual?
I'm a living testimony of Mrs Catherina, she has helped me achieve my dream of becoming a licienced Doctor 👩⚕️, i encourage those who find it difficult to pass the USMLE exams to work with her and thank me later
It's not about watching videos here on UA-cam and wasting your time on materials and reviews that won't help, I was ignorant doing so till I got recommended to Mrs Catherina Moore, some how watching videos helped me too because without watching them i wouldn't have known about Mrs Catherina
Hi, Zeb here from the presentation. Thanks for the question! I'm just chiming in to confirm that you're all correct: statins' biggest effect is lowering LDL. In this specific question, the writers took it a step further to test if examinees are aware that statins also lower TG and lead to a moderate increase in HDL. For more details, you can read under "Effects" in the AMBOSS learning card on statins. I hope that helps!

From the thumbnail I thought he was Diego Luna 🤭. Jokes aside great job!
Many of these techniques seem to use buzzwords as a means to answer the question. What about not relying on buzzwords?
Step 1 is buzzwords tho

Do statins increase HDL or they just decrease LDL and TGs ?
Decrease LDL receptors
They lower LDL and have minimal effect on HDL and TGs
@@abdulmalikidris1278 yeah on the presentation it said increase hdl
Mrigank sinha yes I also noticed😅
