Watching you fish the chubs reminded me of a fishing trip where a bunch of us from the same work place were Muskie fishing with lures and suckers. We named a sucker Tom after a new boss we all hated. My friend got a snag and I had him hang on to Tom while I freed his snag. I got him free and got my rod back and it felt like it was snagged, I complained to my friend when another friend shined his flashlight in the water only to see “Something big has got Tom!”. Our favorite line now forever. I let the Muskie run with the bait and when I finally set the hook, I thought I had him….I reeled in half of a sucker. Oh well, the best is the line now forever.
Hopefully this doesn’t affect the fishing too much. I fish this pool of the Mon sometimes. Already noticed how much it changed the shore lines many of my fishing spots way less shore than before. But anyways nice fish and cool to see you using some live bait for a change of pace! Any tips on walleye fishing the Mon this month? Anyways nice fish tight lines brotha! 🎣
I don’t know how much of it is the dam removal or just the drought but I’m not finding current anywhere around there which has not been good….usually need some current for them to really stack up
@ And the Mon already a slow flowing river as is… hope the fishing don’t take too much of a hit in this section of the Mon. Had so much luck the past few years in this section of the Mon with all kinds of species!
Dams like the one in the video do noting for flood control. It was probably built to power a factory or have a intake pond at one point and now it was just there doing nothing
@@seanhiggins2434 Maybe that one. I am not familiar with the area. Regardless, this dam removal stuff will result in more flooding and people being relocated and moved away from watershed areas.

One of my favorite places to wade was where the creek came out below the bridge. Gone forever. 😂
Ya..,after a few spring floods it should build back up though. I just don’t know how many…
That really dropped the levels here at lock 4. And now theyre dredging just so the barges can make it thru

A dam...? Looked more like a Weir... didn't change the water flow at all.....
Low head dam
👍👍👍
What river is this?
Most likely the upper Mon river near Elizabeth or Glassport
They keep tearing these dams down and there will be more flooding. In most cases there's a reason the dams were built in the first place.
