Meji's Story So Far

I decided to share this short video about Meji's journey. Coming over from Spain as a scraggly 6 year old with a multitude of owners, he had to settle into a new country completely. We had number of struggles along the way, especially when it comes to tension under saddle and erratic behaviour. I worked hard to win his trust and build his confidence up, and we progressed well. Very well in fact. But we still had issues with unpredictable and aggressive behaviour.
We both took a little break from riding as we encountered a number of issues and a general apathy for riding. Meji had a gastroscope in order to rule out physical causes for discomfort, but he was clear. I decided to give him about a month off work, and he came back a horse that was noticeably taller! We both came back into work with a new plan and new energy. Prior to coming back into work, I dedicated 2-3 weeks to groundwork through the TRT Method. Meji responded so incredibly well, but we keep hitting a stumbling block where he will suckle in order to self-soothe. We still have a few issues that I feel need resolving to spur us forward to be able to go out competing, hacking and just general handling.
Our main concerns are:
aggression/biting when handling
anxious to lead to mount up
tension under saddle.
difficulty riding next to other horses, especially other horses moving at speed.
We would love to come to the TRT Method demonstration because Meji would love to attend his first event out in a positive environment and give us the tools we need to progress our training and achieve our 2020 goals.
