Just to clear the air with some of these comments, here goes…..This is a compilation of a lot of different replica bikes. Most of these videos were taken from a Facebook group I started years ago and I’m happy that I did. So many people share my love for this bike and it’s great to bring likeminded people together. Several bikes in this video I owned or built, some are other people’s examples. My early work wasn’t as good, but I get better with every build. The bike that Chuck Zito is riding is indeed Mickey Rourke’s actual bike. For those arguing its authenticity you’re wrong; it’s legit. That said, it was rebuilt due to an accident so some changes were made. Heath Rodney owns the screen used stunt bike and he takes incredible care of it. He let me ride it once in Sturgis and for that I am forever grateful to him. Most of the other bikes in this video are owned by friends of mine. The Black Death community is a tight knit group that’s passionate about the bike. Yes, those are rigid struts that have replaced the original shocks so the fender can literally sit an inch off the tire. While you can ride this bike, it’s more of a showpiece to be admired unless you live in an area with incredible roads. I’ve ridden one around Sturgis before and it was doable, but I definitely felt it after a week hard riding. There is a lot of hidden secrets that this bike holds. Dave Fournier and Gene Thomason worked with Mickey to build the bike and it started a huge culture of unfinished choppers that people still build to this day. When you look at this bike, don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s a cheap rat bike that can be thrown together in a weekend using junk parts. It gives you that illusion at a glance, but trust me it’s a lot of fabrication and some very expensive parts to make it look decent. Most fall way short but there have been a few in the last several years that have been some of the best ever built. Here’s a list of guys who have put the time and money into building some of the most iconic replicas ever Gianpaolo Cavelli, Dan Brodecky, Myself (Rob Whitt), Todd Witte, David Tarmin, Jordan Campbell and Josh Cross. The list continues to grow but these guys definitely deserve some recognition for the sacrifices they’ve made to build their dream bikes. If this is something you’d like to accomplish I highly recommend you join my Facebook group and a lot of the answers or parts you seek can be found there.
I loved the film saw it back in 91, love Rourke's bike, the most beautiful Harley I've ever seen but I wouldn't be caught dead riding it, I have a thing called character.
They only made 3 or 4 for the movie. Chuck Zito ended up with one and I think the dealership that originally built it has one. Not sure what happened to 3 and/or 4. There have been various magazine articles written about it. Enjoy the search and history! 👍
@@mickangio16 true, but sportys are my fav H.D.. I thought it was H.D. & the Marlboro man lol. U ride? I got a few sportys, one I'm working on now is a 20' iron night train, trying to find a bigger tank, one I got on it is a 1.9 gl, smallest they got, I want a Frisco style.
I see at least two different bikes in this video. Look at the speedometer’s. One bike has bare metal tank. One is painted silver. Looks like the rear fender is different between bikes on the video.
Chuck Zito is riding, Mickey’s personal bike. He had it for years and only recently gave it back to Mickey they are very good friends The movie bike is at Bartel’s HD, on display, I believe.

Actually there were two bikes built by Bartels H-D in Marina Del Ray California, BD1 and BD2, that were scrapped, a third was built by Mickey Rourke and Billy Westbrook, that bike was stolen, then Mickey had another 98 inch version built that was going to be used in a movie with Mickey called The Ride but was never made, then MGM asked him to be in HDMM movie and the BD3 bike was used , which is the one in the opening scenes of the movie, a duplicate 80 inch version that MGM had Bartels build was used for all the riding and stunt scenes, the BD3 98 inch version is at Bartels H-D on display, and Chuck Zito had the 80 inch version for several years, Mickey has that bike back now.

I don’t know if that movie was legendary but nice bike anyways.
Yeah, its a pretty crap movie alright
That might be the Black Death bike that was reproduced not the original one. Mickie friend has it in his garage in New York.
YEAH DOESN'T CHUCK ZITO HAVE IT
no that one is even a reproduction , the actual original was stolen after the movie
The struts would have to go. Not much into the hardtail ride anymore. lol
Mucha moto es estrella de cine
Whaooo..all Beautyfull...😎
The teardrop cover is supposed to rattle on the original. 👍😎
In the movie The bike had no seat
What was the bike that Marlboro Man rode in the movie harley davidson and the marlboro man?

Love the sound of a well sorted Shovelhead! That's a special bike too! Good for him.
Not a shovel it's a Evo
Not even an EVO, aftermarket!

Never seen any saddle bags on any of the bikes
So where is the real bike from the movie?
I got the same mirror on my bike they're hard to find.
That's not the bike Mickey rode!!
The mirror is different style
I LOVE THAT BIKE!!!
what size are those drag pipes?
Nice bike,,I don't get the the rod where the shock goes..
Mick used his own bike, Don was on a replica and that’s surly a replica.
That's not the original it's a copy.
Right Chuck Zitto is og owner star of OZ and Son Anarchy host of other credits.
what kind of spark plug wires are those
his name is roaurk, like a lion roar
Rourke.
If that's solid pieces of rod being used for shocks you can keep that bike.
You can always put shocks back in.
Or you can just change your tampon
