Performances do not get better than this!
My Father was a Sargent Major. Bless him. High Morals. First Class Excellence
I attended a Queen's birthday parade at Horseguards in 1976, the RMs were superb and the RM massed bands were so, so impressive but there were four times as many in those days. There have never been other military bands who could play on the march and keep their dressing throughout a whole display as well as these guys.
Excellent
The best military band in history
The musical standards here are superb! Dynamics, sound and balance performed til perfection during marching and carrying out a drill program such as this. I hope it´s possible to keep this level up in the future with the increasing problems of recruiting the youth wind and brassbands experiencing today.
Great...... love this kind of music....... God save the Queen....... Greetings from Germany...... ( lover Saxony )
@Elodea This is filmed at Horse Guards Parade in London which is just behind Downing Street and Whitehall and you can see in the background The Mall which leads up to Buckingham Palace and also St James's park which runs along The Mall too.HTH.Cheers
Yes top quality.... Was there in 1975. Will never forget this show.
This is the best military band I've ever seen...wish I could see them State side!!
Top quality. Will be going in couple of years when it's back on. Best band in the world. Thanks for posting :D
Yes, tickets were available to the public in advance via Ticketmaster, or were available on the day (for Tuesday, but not sure for Weds when Duke Phil was there).
Well worth it & also to see them marching to and from barracks - absolutely awesome - the best band in the world! Roll on 3 years time!
ONE WORD BRILLIANT
This is just BEAUTIFUL!!! Precison and music!!!
aah.. i miss my days in the band.. those were good days..
Not just marines.
The best band in the world
UP the Royals
Bloody wonderful
Amazing...
Thanks for the upload! I'm sure there are many that will be pleased since this wasn't televised. :)
Las bandas del Reino Unido hacen grande la música militar, con su excelente interpretación y el show de sus movimientos.
Love it..!!
De Engelsen en Schotten, zijn naar mijn smaak eveneens ook een fractie beter, dan de Nederlandse vak-orkesten..
The RM band -the cream of the cream
Jus' Love It Thanks
Unbeatable!
The Best there is !!!!!
They were also there in 1814- a wee bit of arson was involved during their 'visit' to Washington DC...
Damn right
Stop bithching, and watch the greatest military specticle in the world
@matelot321 Thank you!
no RM band member has to go through commando course because band members are trained as medics, but there is also a commando band they play cos they can.
@BarbRob11 they are over occasionally for events
@lonepantherkmt Their job in wartime is to tend to the wounded. Put together bits of pulped flesh and shattered limbs. Bandsmen became stretcher bearers
@MegaTonkaman Probably budget cuts of sorts.
@t1t296 Join the Royal Marine Band Facebook page!
Simply just type in the search bar
'The Band of HM Royal Marine's'
@genuinelyaperson No, just regular soldiers
Why isn't it televised anymore? are they afraid of offending someone?
does anyone know who composes Militair Marsch because i'm trying to google it but i can't find it anywhere
They were there in 1776.
What is the location of these parade grounds?
@CorBlimey2 They are not commandos
WRONG !!! Bandsmen are originally medics (THANK GOD )is one commando band out there, just enjoy british pomp at its best
You can"t
Their lines weren't straight.
Their precision would improve if they stopped carrying sheet music along with them and started memorizing what they play. The Marine Band, Washington Barracks does that and they look snappier when they march. Can't complain about the British bandsmen's musicianship though. Really good.
SpeedyNeutrino43 These are musicians, not bandsman and need sheet music as their repertoire is far greater.
What bollocks you talk, and I was one of the drum majors. Notice no drummer has music
DRESSING (straight lines) IS AWFUL
The low brass is awesome @ 2:15 as the band turns toward camera.
The fleet's in!
The ensemble balance is phenomenal through this whole performance!
Bravo Zulu to HMRM!
