I had a great myna named Heckle. He didn’t talk for the longest, but we could hear him practicing while he thought we were out of the room. So amazing, in that they are different than parrots. Parrots use their own voice to interpret, and it sounds pretty close to the teacher. However, mynahs are like a tape recorder. Notice that every nuance is in his words, even a sigh or taking a breath like someone after they speak. Subtle and exact. Amazing.
Yeaaa yo! I actually noticed that some phrases they say.. it sounds like they’re saying them in a completely different voice! I was curious if they actually did that! Like.. mimicked they persons voice who taught them the specific phrase cause you’re right.. they do sound like they just recorded the person speaking and are playing it back. THIS one legit sounds like he’s speaking in a woman’s voice and then a mans voice. AND that “breath” he took at the end of the laughing.. SOOO COOOL DUDE 🤙🏼🤙🏼
What else do you think wendigos or other forest ghosts are? "do not run after a crying lady" "it speaks to you", loons and goons and buffoons that is the harsh reality of haunted woods.
This reminds me of my grandma…she had a rescue Myna Bird for about 5 years. Definitely the smartest, most intuitive pet she ever had. Her name was Myna Bird 😅
what is amazing and disconcerting as well is that the bird's beak does not move to match the syllables of the words spoken. Only a couple times does his mouth open and shut during a word, the rest is produced through the vocal chords the way his natural calls would be. Very cool
As someone who studied speech pathology, it’s amazing to me that these birds pronunciation is so clear, when they have no lips. Not sure what their hard and soft palates are like, but I’m sure it isn’t very human like.
I never thought that myna could speak so well clear loud n audible, I think that they are much better than parrots, it's so nice to listen to them talk. Love them much.
I wish everyone would just talk back. Birds are smart, they want the interaction. They aren't just saying random words for the fun of it, they're saying what will illicit the most response. Give them a conversation pls. 🥺
Oh so so so darling, when I was a little kid I used to stop by a local pet store almost everyday just to see Charlie the talking mynah bird, unbelievable talking bird, many words and very very clear, he was $350 and he'd tell you that. He was there for many years and many people would go to see him and laugh about how well he could talk. I don't know if anyone ever bought him or not, it's so long ago, $350, really??, now they're probably $3000, but I always wanted one, I thought he was the cutest bird ever. The last time I've one for sale at a pet store was in the late 80's. They are so cool.
Throwing up in Hialeah when I was a child there was a pet store that had a minor bird to talk one day we were walking by the pet shop and my mom said there's a mineberg she said you see that bird she said they can talk and I didn't believe her until one day I went in the pet shop and the bird said hello what's your name and I I couldn't believe it and I realized at that time that it vocalized even better than a parrot it sounded human I wonder how many Myna birds there are left in the wild?
The level of speech this bird has made me rewatch this multiple times to determine when the bird talked to realize the bird was talking the entire time
How are they physically able to do this? I know there are a lot of mimic birds, but the myna birds are on a totally different level. It is more like a recording device than a mimic.
This UA-cam video briefly covers on how they’re able to mimic the nuances in human voices. It features a common mynah bird named Kaleo who is yes good at mimicry, but hill mynahs (this video) are actually the best out of all the mynah species at being chillingly human sounding.
In the jungle park in Tenerife they have a myna and there was this macaw that was doing funky things like hanging upside down and making funny calls and the myna beside it was like ''awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww'' like he was understanding something or just amazed from what the macaw was doing, it can also say some other words like ''Hello'' and it even said surprisingly ''Scotlanndd'' And sometimes it makes a noise that sounds like a star wars lightsabre and a blaster firing
The first and only Mynah bird I ever saw, was in a cage. I saw it when I was four years old. It was my neighbors' Nynah. I heard they could talk, just not so well.
We see and hear so much about other parrots, etc. but the Myna Bird seems to easily be the best "talker" of all. They actually sound like people and don't have that "squawky" sound that most other birds have. I wonder if they are relatively easy to handle, like the parts, etc., usually are.
My family had a mynah bird, from birth, it was so cool. He was fluent in bengali when people took apples from our tree it would shout "SWOOR SWOOR!!!" Which means thief. Our mynah was stolen once and he told my uncle who stole him when asked .It was sooooo cool, family members would spend hours with our mynah and bring lots of guests to visit him -- he actually learnt to speak totally fluent bengali. He could answer basic questions like :are you hungry, are you tired? And even stuff like what snack do you want? He learnt from when hearing things repeatedly, for example my nana would always nag us to pray so soon our myna started flying around telling us to pray at prayer times In the mornings our mynah would sometimes call family members to wake up-- bc he got used to hearing us wake each other in the mornings lol. If you actually read all of this you have too much time my friend.
Anyone planning on having this bird as a pet should keep in mind that it needs to be cleaned after a lot.. it poops a lot.. makes very loud noises too.
The only time I have had anything to do with Mynas it was in Kandahar-South Afghanistan. It was a different sort than this, with yellow just around the eyes and the rest totally black (and yellow-orange feet of course). They were a real nuisance, perching on the trees in the thousands and making so much noise that it was impossible to talk to each other without shouting... We had to beat tin boxes to shoo them away and then they were back in 15 minutes and the show repeated... Luckily they showed up only for a few weeks in late autumn.
This kind of bird is very intelligent. First time, he just repeat whatever you said. But he learn from context. Some case they can make a good conversation as well

There was a mynah bird in the brooklyn children's museum in the 60's that could mimic people perfectly upon meeting them ONCE. MIND BLOWN.
great name choice!! hahaha
Very true! They sound so precise in their mimic. I absolutely love the name Heckle, btw.
Omg that’s amazing.
Imagine walking through the forest by yourself, and then you hear "GOOD MORNING"
Imagine walking through the forest alone and then hearing this creepy female like voice laughing at you, I'd run ill tell you that! 😂
One neighbor had a bird that did wolf whistles.
What else do you think wendigos or other forest ghosts are? "do not run after a crying lady" "it speaks to you", loons and goons and buffoons that is the harsh reality of haunted woods.
Exactly! Omg 😲
It's better than any talking parrot I've ever seen
yes . they can pronounce clearly.
If you think that this is cool, check the lyrebird
parrots are overrated.
They are quite intelligent. They can actually create full sentences too. Most parrots only say phrases. These birds can be a pain in the ass too! 🤣
Their words are so clear!
The laugh is unnervingly convincing.. O.o
Truly astonishing even getting down accents! I'd love to hear it do an Irish accent. Probably 10 times more authentic than anyone in Hollywood!
best voice actor ever 10/10 would cast again
Nope
We had one when I was a kid. Called Major. He used to sing the theme from Dallas and hold a conversation in two voices. Incredible mimics.
I once was talking to one and when I walked away it started meowing like a cat... Trippiest thing ever!!!
😂😂😂😂
😂😂

Birds doesn't hv vocal cord they use muscle to produce sound
Disconcerting is the wrong word
@@wolvesnrp nope, i'd say it's pretty disconcerting!

@@christinahighsmith4453 they use sine-wave speech!
That bird sounds so human, it's amazing.
imagine breaking into the zoo... and then in the bird area you hear laughter and when you check theres noone to be found
It blows my mind how each of the voices sound like a different person.
I never thought that myna could speak so well clear loud n audible, I think that they are much better than parrots, it's so nice to listen to them talk. Love them much.

Oh trust me I have spoken with this bird plenty of times. I was as quiet as possible only for the purpose of taking this video!

I never seen such a beautiful talking bird...it's way beyond parrots
the laugh was actually very spooky^^
The breath in at the end was what screwed me up bad.
I could listen to him all day!
The level of speech this bird has made me rewatch this multiple times to determine when the bird talked to realize the bird was talking the entire time
I staged this video to try to get the bird to say as many things as I'd heard it say.
I only prompted it once for the laugh as that's one of my faves!
that was the most insane thing I've ever watched.
amazing birds, we grew up with 2. they could do any sound, period.
Myna is a actual boss in all talking birds world.
Mynah birds are indigenous to my country. They're amazing.
How are they physically able to do this? I know there are a lot of mimic birds, but the myna birds are on a totally different level. It is more like a recording device than a mimic.
Like voice actors

Wonder if it’s like lyrebirds where they have multiple sets of vocal cords ?
In the jungle park in Tenerife they have a myna and there was this macaw that was doing funky things like hanging upside down and making funny calls and the myna beside it was like ''awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww'' like he was understanding something or just amazed from what the macaw was doing, it can also say some other words like ''Hello'' and it even said surprisingly ''Scotlanndd'' And sometimes it makes a noise that sounds like a star wars lightsabre and a blaster firing
I've never seen/heard something so creepy and adorable at the same time.
He sounds like B-MO from adventure time!
That's amazing how much they can imitate your voice.
Hello b0ss
Hello 🅱oss

Eyyyy boss
Can I hab aeee pizza pleeees
Imagine yourself taking a shortcut into a cementary at night then you hear that.
Wow,it sounds so clear like an actual human,if it was my alarm clock that'll creep me out.
oh I see
The first and only Mynah bird I ever saw, was in a cage. I saw it when I was four years old. It was my neighbors' Nynah. I heard they could talk, just not so well.
She was definitely a mynah bird in a past life. "No I'm not, no I'm not, no I'm not" 😆
When I was young my mum and dad had a Mynah bird named Fred. He talked a lot!
Im buying a baby handreared mynah next week, guys. I can't wait. From the UK, and I'm paying a crazy price for it, but I know it will be worth it.
Unlike parrots they can make deep tones and that’s why they can mimic so accurately
They are all over the place here in Hawaii. Not as pets tho, just flying free. 😊
We see and hear so much about other parrots, etc. but the Myna Bird seems to easily be the best "talker" of all. They actually sound like people and don't have that "squawky" sound that most other birds have. I wonder if they are relatively easy to handle, like the parts, etc., usually are.
They are beautiful.
Seriously now, who and why would anyone dislike this?
Because he’s in a cage
I need this pokemon
Damn that flirt whistle 😂
legit a tape recorder im amazed T^T
the sigh after que laugh is hilarious!
How has Disney NOT done a talking Mynah bird character in one of its animated movies?
The canniness of the mimicry is astounding. They sound like a human, both a woman and a man.
The laughing is unnerving lol
The laugh gets me 😂😂
1:18 idk why those sounds made my blood run cold but holy shit
I remember in the 70s had to check they were still here as i didn't know if they were still kept as pets
It’s Uncle Feather!
I'm here because of Uncle Feather. :)
@@jaimeevoth4807 I'm glad someone else likes the Fudge series. :)

If you actually read all of this you have too much time my friend.
Im reading Island by Aldous Huxley and I can now exactly envision the Mynah saying “Attention! Here and now, boys.”
I actually found a true story about a myna named Aldous! It was in 1962, the same year Island was published, so…
Reading it now and thought the same lol
How many viewers or guest at the hotel would enjoy living in cage .So talented let them be free and entertain from trees etc :)
Remember: birds have NO VOCAL CORDS
"Laura, myna' bird noise, Laura "
Waldo survived!
hahahhaha! This bird is a real talker!
That is unnerving. I mean it's even got the inhale at the end of the laugh. Sounds like a tape recorder.
and here i thought this bird walking all grim aimlessly scared me... :O but wow..
I think this bird may be suffering from multiple personality disorder.
😂😂😂
shawtys just bilingual 😎
wow you caught it all!!
i miss this bird =((((((
He should do voiceovers for a video game
Anyone planning on having this bird as a pet should keep in mind that it needs to be cleaned after a lot.. it poops a lot.. makes very loud noises too.

It's like you get the bird to talk to someone over the phone, and make them think it is a human. Awesome prank.
A very intelligent bird.
They sound like a recording .
agreed
Omg, how do they change their voice like that? Can you imagine if they could prank call people LOL
That's why people tought they could hear spirits in middle age.
It isn't really a talking bird
It's more like the hello how are you, morning! *whistles and says hello in japanese* ech, eegch bird
This kind of bird is very intelligent. First time, he just repeat whatever you said. But he learn from context. Some case they can make a good conversation as well
I had 2 myna birds and they beat the intelligence of most parrots... lovely birds
Awesome.hope he gets out the cage at times
Hello 🅱️oss LMFAO
This bird speaks more languages than I do.
so nice talking with bird
the voice is so clear
Wow that sounds like an actual human!
Wow that's incredible
It's like Uncle Feather from the "Fudge" books by Judy Blume!
that's a weird looking dog
John Smith
It’s clearly a gorilla
That is so cool !😮
Well true, Mynas do pronouce the words more exactly, but parrots can remember longer phrases, I’ve seen parrots say 4 phrases of poetry.
1:30 does the sound of the cage opening, teach it to do the lye bird sounds lol aka everything lol
I'm curious if you played some music with clear vocals to these birds if they could sing like a human.
It's all fun and games until he learns to say "Bonjour, stupid!"
The ultimate rickrolling weapon.
Elton John had a myna named Roger, whom someone taught to say “Piss Off!” 😂
better actor than gosling
That laugh is spooky lol
Amazing bird
In Singapore you will be able to find this creature in the wild at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve!!!
I am kind of scared of this bird and I have no idea why
Crazy mini talking dinosaur!
This whole time I thought another person was talking to the mynah until it started to repeat what it said.
my dad loves myna birds, their his and my fav bird
So perfect it’s a bit surreal but cool 😎
It sounds like a recording is being played
The audio of this mayna was recently used in a movie
This is amazing
