    I actually love Hard Light blending mode. It combines multiply with color dodge, any color above 0.5 value (upper half of the square color selector) will act as light, anything lower than that will act as shadow.

      @@LuckykyunArt Thank you! I didn't know layer mask is this powerful, your video showed me the wonders of it :))) I knew nothing about layer mask lol I was shocked we could edit it 5:47. The parts where you explained how to use layer mask really helped me with effects I couldn't achieve with transparent lock and clip to layer below (I only knew these two ways). I was trying to paint someone in water and wanted there to be bubbles surrounding my character but didn't want to erase the part where it overlaps (so I tried the thing you did at 5:16), it also helped me with coloring things seperatly. The shadow masking saved so much time, I could simply just erase the highlights!

    however you forget to explain about merging layer... With Subsurface Scattering made in different layer, there is no way to use blend tool with the shadow unless they are merged

    I feel like this is a lot of good information but you go through it so fast. I've played it twice now and I'm still juggling between trying to watch what you're doing and grasping what you're saying. Maybe it's because this is a new topic to me 🤷‍♀️

    • @LuckykyunArt
      @LuckykyunArt  Рік тому +1

      Interesting. Thanks for telling me. I sometimes felt like I went too fast to the Infos plus making it a new topic to you also adds up.
      There are also unnecessary things to do that I have included in the video such as using the method for adding a shadow since CSP has this transparent brush feature that could replace the method.
      There are just a lot of good things a masking can do. I might try to make an updated version about it.
      Thanks!

      I felt the same way, some of the voice-overs were hard to hear what he is saying. I have watched it several times trying to figure out these important subjects. Great content, just some of it hard to understand.

    So I think I've damaged the layer on my Line Art layer, so when I click on that layer to be visible I see patches of white paper "underneath". What do I do? How do I restore the tiling on that layer?

    Video was great! I have a tip for you. Please turn on the "low pass filter" on your mic. Usually a switch. Every time you pronounce 'P' it is killing my speakers. If your mic is fancy, 80hz should be good.

    such a great video! however i lost it when 'create layer mask'. somehow the 'transparent lock' and 'clip to layer below' is easy enough to understand. i'm still not getting the reason behind masking. lol! maybe i needed some practice to shed the light .

    • @LuckykyunArt
      @LuckykyunArt  2 роки тому +2

      yea, i think it might be sometime confusing. Just think of the "masking" layer as hide and show, over laying to the top of the drawing.
      - the blacks are the areas you cover the part of the drawing.
      - It's usually being use if you don't want to totally erase some areas of the add-on drawing or image and wanted to keep the full image for other use.

      @@LuckykyunArt thanks for the tutorial. Yeah i saw another video showing coloring with either black or white on masking. And it starting to make sense to me. 🤣 I'm such a slow learner.

    How do you merge the layers on a blending mode? Because I use control E and then it cancels the blending mode effect on the layer.

    • @LuckykyunArt
      @LuckykyunArt  Рік тому

      not sure what you meant. Most of the time, it will cancel the blending modes when you merge it into other layers and it will turn it back to Normal unless both layers have the same blending modes.
      But if you mean like, the effect of the Multiply will be applied after merging, then select all the layers you want to merge and then right-click and "Merge Selected Layers" As for me, I think I customized the shortcut into Ctrl + Shift + E.
      But if that doesn't work, try putting them in one Group Folder and Merging them.

    Can someone here explain to me how he made that completely black layer mask and why?

    • @LuckykyunArt
      @LuckykyunArt  Рік тому +1

      - Click that Icon I showed in 4:29 and I just inverted the white into black to display as Unshow layer.
      Why? It's just my other way of adding a shadow during the early times, one habit I brought from Photoshop and I found out that it's not necessary at all since CSP has a Transparent brush feature.

    • @HandlesL
      @HandlesL Рік тому

      @@LuckykyunArt i see!
      Thank you so much for the explanation

    • @vancechristopher
      @vancechristopher Рік тому

      In layer masks, black is the way the program shows transparency. So when you see a black square it just means that the whole mask is transparent. When white is drawn on the black that is the area masked out. If you see a white square to start with then there would be no object shown and it would appear blank until you draw some black lines revealing the image underneath the mask.

    how to do alt delete without the keyboard like in android??

    • @LuckykyunArt
      @LuckykyunArt  4 місяці тому +1

      I haven't use android but this is how I resolve that question.
      "alt delete" is just an opposite of deletion hence the "ALT"ernate DELete, so basically, it's just a fill tool targeting the entire canvas ignoring anything in the layer.
      There might be no way to do that but just to manually huge brush the entire selection or just use fill tool and UNCHECK the "Apply to connected pixels only".
      That's the only thing I can help.
