So excited to see another dark matter blind play!
In the rules question - you are correct that the hidden card requires a clue to be dropped for the “then.” However, unsolved case doesn’t require a clue (would be really harsh). So Eric could have investigated first to drop the clue, then played unsolved case without a clue to move. Still, nice problem solving! Enjoy the trio of next scenarios!
