Thank you so much for these videos. Very thorough . I followed you to get my ISBN numbers. You have helped me a lot. Now, I have a 2nd edition of a book but I added a subtitle ( plus my own ISBN) so it seems like my books can't be linked with the added subtitle. isn't that going to confusing now or should i just unpublish the 1st editions? which means I will lose my all of SIX reviews lol - I laugh but they were so hard to get!
@@swa630 yes when you add a subtitle they cannot be linked. So you can unpublish the fjrst edition so no one buys that one but the reviews can't be linked

I’m taking notes. My book was written and then revised into an audio drama that I produced on YT. I drew a lot of viewership but never got around to publishing ‘The Giant Killers’. I finally did my fourth revision and am exploring KDP for release this year. And yes, I’m taking careful notes. 😂

Once your book is published, what about the information that is found on the Amazon website when you click on your book?
Like author and photo information? Can I adjust this?

Great video, it helped me to clarify a lot of things. First time author here so I have a couple of very silly and basic questions. The PDF for the cover with the bleed, is that something that I assume the people that did the cover for you provided? The second question, is given that the ISBN number is different for every version of the book you have (one for digital, one for paperback, and one for hardcover) and given that this number goes in the copyright page, I assume that for the paperback and hardcover you have to have different pdf documents each of them listing the appropriate ISBN number?
Yes the cover artist should know the provide the full cover in the correct template. Yes, you can have a different interior file for each. I list all the associated ISBNs on my copyright page

Thanks again. I see conflicting information online about whether to include a cover with the EPUB file or not for the ebook. Do you include the cover or rely on KDP to grab the file you upload for marketing/Amazon page? Also, have seen reference to uploading the complete cover file (front and back) for ebook, which doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Yes, include the cover only ebook cover with your upload.

Ok, one more question for you about this topic: For the EPUB file for Kindle on KDP, do you have to add the meta data to the file or does the information you provide during upload (like you are doing in this video) become the metadata? Appreciate any feedback as the information online is not clear.
I worked with a company to have my file converted so the content of the book and the cover were included in the metadata. Everything else I had to enter (title, description, price)
Great information! On average, how long does it take to receive the advanced reader copy for review and author copies?
The print author copies take longer, they are not as prioritized as customer purchases.
Hi MK. Do you have a video on how to create book bundles in KDP please? In my case I have a paperback book (via Ingram) on KDP and I want to include my companion journal (via KDP only as Ingram doesn’t do journals) into a bundle to sell them together. Thanks!!
I don't know of a way to do that without doing FBA via seller central which is totally out of my wheelhouse. Hopefully another viewer commenter will have some insights

@@KnowingSelfKnowingOthers fulfillment by Amazon. You'd ship the already packaged bundles to an Amazon Warehouse and sell it through their seller central listings Instead of KDP. If this were a digital bundle that can be done on KDP, but for physical books I don't believe there is a bundle option
Is there a way to have a sharable KDP link for your books? so customers can get straight to it? do you have a video on that?

I proofed my 40-page kids book and
made some adjustments which was great.
I have another question for you.
It printed with two extra pages,
one blank and one with printer information.
I'm ok with the printer page at the end of the book,
but the extra blank page does make sense.
Do I need 41 pages of art/copy? or is this how it prints?

How can I turn a Pdf book created on Canva into an ePub book? I want to upload it to Kdp and Google Play Books. The online converters are not good.

Should I trademark my publishing name?
That is a great question for an IP attorney who has experience filing for and protecting trademarks
So once my book is live, it is ready to be bought. But unless someone is specifically searching for it, or is lead to the site by my ads, it wont get found, right? if someone does buy my book, does the money go my bank account that I entered into my KDP account?
Correct you need to drive your audience to your book. Amazon KDP pays net 60, so 60 days after the month the book is purchased you are paid to the account on file

when i uploaded my manuscript and cover into KDP, it keeps highlighting it in red and saying " Please provide an ISBN so that we may start processing your file. What does that mean? i already entered the ISBN above it
Not sure without seeing a screenshot. You may need to reach out to KDP support
Can I submit my books while my ISBN’s are updating on pending? It was assigned, then I added description of book.
I would hold off until it shows as updated. On Bowler it usually takes about 24-48 hours max. Not sure how long it takes with other providers (ex. Canada has their ISBNs issues by the government so it takes a bit longer)
I bought them through Bowker. Okay I won’t submit them. But is it okay to fill it out for the meanwhile before submitting it through?

Hi! I am working on a fully illustrated book and I am really confused about the manuscript part. I understand I need the entire book in a pdf, but I am not sure how to make that happen. I have 150 canvases for 75 back to back pages that I have been working through, but when they are all done, where do I put them to combine them all into one big pdf?
In this case you'll want to work with someone who knows books and can format it for you. I've worked with a few book designers in this fashion, I highly recommend Giada she did a 5-book series with one of my clients and they looked amazing. giada-creative.com/
?Where do you enter payment details?
When you first set up your KDP account you are prompted to complete the tax interview and submit bank information for payment. That should be at the top of your dashboard before you upload anything.

why is KDP saying my imprint isnt matching my ISBN? i copied and pasted the name from Bowker like suggested. Is there any other reason for that?
Double check there are no extra spaces at the beginning or end.

No, you don't need an LLC to set up your own publishing name. I didn't have one for the first three years of self-publishing but I added it on once it was a real business with business income.
I already have an account with low content books. I want to keep these separate from my full content books. Do I need to create another account or does it matter?
You could make them separate accounts, at the very least it should be under a different pen name or author name
M.K., when I go to the Formatted Books website, it says "The site is suspended." Is there anywhere else I can get my file formatted for ebook upload to Amazon?
Oh no, I just saw the same error message myself. I reached out to their team to see if everything is OK.
