Just back from an Easter break and did my usual Wishbone Ash search on You Tube and found this great video. Thank you so much Marcus for an excellent tutorial for this almost forgotten band. I have been a fan of this band since their first album in 1970. I started learning the guitar a few years ago and could find loads of tutorials for all the other bands songs I liked but because of the lack of any tutorials on You Tube for Wishbone Ash I have struggled to learn the tracks that I wanted to from their albums (mainly the first 3). This will help me a lot. Your tutorial is the first one I have ever seen on You Tube for this band. It would be great if you could feature some of the other great tracks from this album (Argus).
Also, I wondered why you did not include the famous intro of this song. I have tried using tab to learn it but have never managed it. Seeing someone demonstrate it would be most appreciated and helpful. I will subscribe to your channel in the hope of more Wishbone Ash.
    Cheers
    Arthur

Hello Arthur, thanks for your subscription and your kind words! Yes, I was also surprised that that band seems to be a bit forgotten on UA-cam.
I didn't include the intro, because it seems to be a jam part. But I'm talking about the rhythm guitar part of that section during the tutorial. But if there are some more viewers interested, I will think about to add also the lead guitar of this part.
And yes, I guess there will be more Wishbone Ash to come! :-)

@@MarcusHetzel Hi Marcus, in my excitement to watch it I completely missed that you do indeed cover Andy Powell’s chords for the intro (2.50mins). It was just because I’m so used to hearing the longer, original, high volume and brilliant rhythm pattern version that I missed it. The only thing missing is Ted Turner’s wah wah (voice box?) octave riff that comes in behind it. Thanks again for your tutorial. I look forward to more.

I fell in love with the Argus album about 10 years ago. I especially love the guitar solo on this song and dual solo at the end of “Throw Down the Sword”. Also, the intro to “Warrior”, which sounds great on my SG. My parents had never heard or listened to Wishbone Ash back in their day, they didn’t get much play here in the US back then apparently.

I discovered the album in the early 90s and also saw them live back then. I was really suprised that there isn't to much material of them on UA-cam.

    Hallo Marcus,
