I was on Duty late night when i saw 3 migrant workers they had been walking for more than 3 days and were seemed tired. i asked how much more they have to walk they said almost half the journey they covered and they came walking 250 km that means almost 500 km. i asked if they had money and none of them had more than 200 rupees left. I gave them 500 rupees of my own and some fruits i had for duty as i was also doing 12 hr shift whole night. they tried to touch my feet, i resisted and told them to go carefully. they were very happy to see a police personnel supporting them
Responsible people who are suppose to protect them are actually ignoring them.. Sad to see migrant workers had to walk hundreds to thousands of kms & some even lost their lives in the process 😢
I think problem could be solved by issuing unique Labor registration card and linking it to Aadhaar. Secondly, it doesn't matter whether Contractor furnish complete information to government. Government should ask registered labor, if they feel free to share information of there working place. It will create some burdens, but sooner or later at least government will have information where to tackle, introduce provisions and their enforcement. I would also like to highlight that provisions should be made for the ratio of migration labor. Please don't take it otherwise.

However what they definitely did was to disinterest business (small & medium) from commencing their businesses since these laws are burdensome to comply with. This lawd acted as nothing but a tool in hands of local authorities and trade unions to monger fear among local business. It served nothing but theses. Atleast by suspending these labour laws, business wont have the burden to comply and would be saved from local gunda raj. And for workers, atleast they will earn something rather than no employment at all. Gradually we can then scale up protection of workers which infact is effective rather than these ineffective labour laws which served only as a tool for harassment.
Although there is law, but in reality any worker has hardly any information about such laws. Therefore along with implementation of such laws,there must be a awareness campaign among labours ,so that they can come to know about their rights.
There should be category for all people employed in various sectors in India whether they employed in private companies or employed in government or they work in many shops now a days many are employed in shops ....we always focuses on government employees which shows dissemination so in this we can make 4 to 5 category like a b c d e all persons should be registered in government data so benefits can be shared equally by their rank and exploitation can be stopped

This law will remain in books only. The company owner has to seek permission to have migrant workers in his company. Why will they even seek permission? So many migrant workers tried to cross the state border. Were their employers get permission from govt to hire migrant workers? The owners have not followed the procedure & the workers have to feel the pain. Until govt takes corrective actions, this will continue
