Great video! I'm also planning on starting my own online business here and also did alot of research about what kind of visa that I need, and what my other options are (like permanent residency and naturalization). And the whole time I watch your video, I nodded so many times because your story and what you want to do is pretty much similar to mine (except for the being an engineer part, I also don't like the idea of working with someone else and just want to do the business alone in the beginning). I have to say that's really brave of you to quit your job before getting the permanent residency, and just going with the flow by working at freelance gigs, because I definitely wouldn't have the courage to do that. I really hope it's getting better now for you, and really hope it works out too!
Thanks for your heartwarming words 🙏 it helps a lot to keep the motivation high! I hope things are going well for you as well, it's a long and hard game but really worth playing! Hope I can update about my situation in a new video really soon, so pleases stay tuned 😃
@@PhilippeKhin Yes, motivation is really important! I'm glad my words could help a bit! And I believe it's worth playing too. Now I really can't wait to start it myself 😄 Looking forward for the next video! 😄
This was a really insightful video, thanks for making it! The rental office requirement is the most annoying thing about the business investor visa, it's so stone-age. Successful companies in this day and age don't all need a physical space. Anyway, it's good to hear about your process :) Hopefully they will make the process more lenient.
Stone-age, that's exactly how I'd describe it! Yep the office requirement is such a pain... especially for software/internet companies! Thanks for your feedback!
@@justyndragon3128 Well depends on what business etc. but getting a guy to set up your company is a pretty easy thing the problem is the visa. but every case is different and I am from Europe and I don't know how japan and US are handling things, but call your embassy or your trade office in japan they can sure help you, and maybe even they have a program to support the US companies coming into the japan market. I recommend living in japan for 2-3 years and decide if you really want to settle your business here as everything is in Japanese and you nearly can not do anything without paying someone to help you sort things out for your company

Yup, starting a business is *NOT* easy! I've been documenting building my tech startup for a year here on UA-cam so I can understand. Also, it's cool that you are a software developer! I love to code!
I want to start a business in Japan. To do that, I need a business manager visa.in order to get that visa should i came to japan as a student or SSW visa holder? Please be kind enough to answer my question
There is no such minimum stay rule, I got mine in 4 years 🙂 (check out my new video where I talk about that! ua-cam.com/video/FzYtANmryEU/v-deo.html) As for citizenship, I'm not knowledgeable on that topic..!
Nice video, thanks for the insights. I'm currently learning japanese so I haven't lived there yet. I want to start a business in Japan but it seems almost impossible. My problem isn't the 5 million yen / two japanese employees you require or even the fact that you need an actual office since I want to start a video game company but rather the business/ entrepreneur visa. The process is extremely complicated from what I see, you can only get a visa for 1 year realistically and then if your company isn't super succesfull after 1 year they can refuse to renew your visa and you lose everything. It seems that Japan just doesn't really want foreigners even if they hire japanese people. I'm very conflicted right now.
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, the current situation is like the way you describe. That's why after many thoughtful considerations, I decided to go back to work full time in order to get the Permanent Residency within one year (I managed to get the required 80 points). After getting the PR, everything will get easier since you will bypass all these requirements...! I know that not everyone can afford to get the PR in a short period of time via the points system, but that's kind of the price you have to pay to start your business here..! Wish you all the best in your journey! 😃
The quickest why to do anything in Japan is to just get married. In 3 years you can get PR and out of that 3 years you only have to be physically in Japan for 1 year. Also anything you want to do in Japan like start a business can be done almost immediately with little hassle. I know a few guys here who have contractual wives and it seems to work well. Otherwise Japan just makes it too difficult to do anything.
Thanks for asking :) Yep, still on it! A few updates since, I got my Japanese Permanent Residency since, here's an update video: ua-cam.com/video/FzYtANmryEU/v-deo.html Good luck on your journey, not easy to find a partner to represent your company!
First of all, thank you for explaining the details. I am from Pakistan and I want to register a company in Japan to do business. What can you do to help?
Thanks for dropping by! If you are in Tokyo, you might want to visit the TOSBEC, an institution that allows you to ask for free some questions regarding the company registration process: www.startup-support.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/onestop/en/ Hope that helps! 🙂

Hi, I saw your this video yesterday. But my question is that if I am only register my company name only in Japan. But I want to operate or work from other countries. So, can I do this. ( Means people and other customers know that my company is a Japanese company but I operate it from outside Japan. ).
Hi Rahul! Back when I was researching on this topic, I was told that I need to be physically in Japan to operate/run a company here, because when you register a company in Japan as a foreigner, you'll need a specific Visa for that (Business Manager visa or Permanent Residency or Spouse Visa), which implies for the Business Manager visa, to have the physical office and the 5M JPY or 2 (Japanese or foreigners with PR) employees. There is also a possibility to pay an external Japanese company that can be the legal representative for you, but they usually charge a lot (a few million JPY per year at least...)
For the age criteria, under 30 years old, you get 15 points, and 30~34, you get 10 points! You get 20 points for having a Master Degree (versus only 10 points for Bachelor Degree). You then need to calculate the other criteria based on your current situation. Hope that helps!
I thought you are Indonesian or someone who live in Indonesia because you develop an app named SewaYou. Sewa is an Indonesian word which is translated into English may becomes hire or rent.

wait. so if you decided to take a corporate job which is 8m yen. You can technically just get the permanent residence? because that would be enough
