Hola. Saludos desde Costa Rica. Gracias por el comentario y los felicito por responder a todas las preguntas que aquí se hacen. Eso demuestra seriedad por parte de ustedes. Saludos,
just bought the backpack.. like it quit a lot though negatives i see so far.. the front mash pocket is not so stretchy and large and it doesnt have rain cover which at this price i would think that its standard :-(
I am looking at this pack and the Osprey Rook 50 for my trek on the Inca Trail in Peru. The Osprey is less expensive and includes a raincover. I am not sure if the Deuter is worth the extra cost.
The Rook 50 is definitely a good pack, especially at its price point. Some features that may make the Aircontact Lite 50 + 10 more appealing are: a front stuff pocket, expandable capacity (hold up to 60L), and a padded backpanel. Which type of backpanel you want comes down to preference, but either pack should work for your trip. Happy Trails!
@@Enwild Thanks for your reply. One advantage of the Rook 50 is that it comes with a raincover, too, while the Deuter does not. Another possibility that I saw recently is the Gregory Paragon 58, which is on sale and is priced in-between the other two. The Gregory seems to have a lot of features for the price.
Your biggest differences are going to be weight and the backpanel. The Exos comes in 3 different sizes, and has a suspended mesh backpanel that sits like a trampoline on your back. This is very breathable and the hole pack weighs an average of 2.75 lbs. It can only be access from the top. The Aircontact Lite weighs just under 4, and comes in one size that can be adjusted to your torso length. This is great if the user is still growing, or the pack may be shared among users with different torso lengths. It has a sleeping bag compartment and can expand capacity from 50-60 liters, depending on your need. It is definitely more versatile, if you plan to use it in an array of settings!
I have a deuter air contact lite 50+10 and I can’t figure out where a sleeping mattress is supposed to go. It doesn’t have a dedicated place for it like other backpacks…
Hi Tamás Sárosi, the newest version of the Deuter Aircontact Lite 50+ does include removable straps and hip strap. We strongly suggest contacting the manufacturer for cleaning instructions and care as some detergents may do more harm than help. Thanks again.
There really isn't a "best". The Futura Vario should carry heavier loads more comfortably, but weighs 11.2 oz more. It also comes with a raincover. Both packs have similar padding, but the suspension systems, hip belts and ventilation setups are a tad different. Thanks for watching!
i have futura vario 50+10 for almost a year. Its ok but at heavy load hip belt doesnt work- i must pushing it down with hands otherwise it goes up in front and down at back. I think design is not good...better is padded as aircontact. I have Guide 38+ and it is better that futura vario. Why deuter made this pack i dont know
Going to be hiking in British Columbia for around 3 days, and Philmont Scout Ranch in 2020 for 10 days!
Very nice review. Clear, concise and detailed, thank you
Thank you Ted! Stay tuned!
Does it have any inner metallic frame? What is the weight of the bag?

hello what should i choose between aircontact 45+10and55+10 & act lite 50+10 im going to thru hike and travelling countries.
Hi Akif! These packs are really similar, so we'd recommend going with whatever size works best for your trip!
Very good review!By the way, does it include the usual [Deuter Rain cover] located at the bottom, like in my futura 40 PRO!
No
My torso length is 16". Is 50+10L suitable for me or I should go for 65+10L?
Hi Jakir,
The 50+10L fits torsos 15" - 21", and you're well within that range. No need to go 65+10L unless you prefer the extra storage.
I have a deuter air contact lite 50+10 and I can’t figure out where a sleeping mattress is supposed to go.
It doesn’t have a dedicated place for it like other backpacks…
I have the same problem with my air contact 65 +10. Seems like a big miss to me for a pack this size.
Use lower loop for that. Sleeping mats aren’t heavy so lower loop will be great. You only need cord or shock cord.
For a scale reference , how tall is the presenter?
Steven is 5 foot 9 inches tall.
Hey, is it possible to take the pack apart and wash the straps and hip strap?
Hi Tamás Sárosi, the newest version of the Deuter Aircontact Lite 50+ does include removable straps and hip strap. We strongly suggest contacting the manufacturer for cleaning instructions and care as some detergents may do more harm than help. Thanks again.
