Warcury showcasing one of the best conquers haki feats casually in the story wasn‘t what I expected but it makes sense. If they hundreds of years old they should have Insane haki
The idea of Mars or Warcury or probably Nusjuro splitting the sky with people is crazy tbh but I now want to see that happen. Especially if Zoro and Nusjuro eventually fight

@@FencingMessiahBecause it’s base conquers haki that travels even to ships around the island and knock people out. That has only been seen so far from Big Mom who is a Yonko and even her range wasn’t that far.
Even characters like Kaido, Shanks, Rayleigh etc use advanced conquers haki to do something similar or when they clash for an example. It’s impressive and shows their potential as haki masters

I would rather say that they are actual demons. Remember the island where they tried to summon Demons and brook showed up and they thought he was an actual one. The circles are so similar.
I wanna see zoro and brook fight along side eachother fighting bakotso / Elder ghandi .It would make perfect sense for the king of hell and the soul king to fight against that demon. imagine a double yazagiri slash.

I low key wish brook and franky kept up more with the top tiers (mainly brook franky radical beam is stupid strong just slow) I mean when brook is introduced he’s only slightly below zoro and had an insane pre inflation bounty . Franky was boxing with pre water seven luffy. They deserved to be kept up in power they both had the two year tome skip as well, but I guess there not there to fight, there here to be a shipwright and musician .
imagine if Brook's soul somehow messes with the Gorosei while in awakened form, and that allows Zoro to finish off the Elder. :)
Besides Zoro and Brook didnt have any interaction regarding fights..probably due to the power difference between them. It would be nice to make weak sh a little bit stronger
Many people have conquerors and follow others, Raleigh followed Roger, katakuri follows big mom, Zoro follows luffy, several rocks pirates followed Rocks, Ace followed white beard, etc. It actually elevates a captain when you know there are other conquerors willing to follow them. Means they must be special. What we haven’t seen in the story yet is the opposite where non conquerors lead other conquerors.

I saw a theory for Imu recently, Idr who said it but they said what if the Logia’s “awakening” is when they can add specific properties to their element or affect their element. What if Imu has the awakened Water Logia fruit, & she added properties to the world’s water and she is the reason why other devil fruit users can’t swim and sink like rocks?? Then I searched water devil/demon in mythology & I found a water demon, spirit or witch of Buddhist and Taoist origin in Chinese mythology named Shuimu or Shuimu Niangniang👀 in Mandarin, Shui = water. Mu = mother. Niangniang = goddess. Shuimu is also referred to as “The Old Mother of Waters”, “Fountain Goddess”, or “Sea Goddess”. So I believe Imu could possibly have a Water God fruit, wether it be a Mythical Zoan God fruit or Logia God fruit if a Logia God exists in one piece lol
If that’s the case then a large amount of df users should have the potential to nullify All df users when they awaken. Like crocodile should be able to nullify all df users if they touch the sand..

The conquerors haki of the gorosei makes sense considering that conquerors haki is literally the Will to Rule or the Will to be King - they have maintained their role in the government potentially for centuries, they have committed atrocities to maintain their rule, they stop at nothing to stay in power - that is Will to Rule, that is Conqueror’s Haki.
Mariejois is built around a devil fruit generating tree. The ageless surgery is required because the input to create a devil fruit is one's soul. The gorosei & imu are immortal so when they sacrificed their soul to create their devil fruit they avoided death. They ate the fruit they created so within them is their own 'devil'.
Does that mean that big mom can create infinite amount of devils fruit with her powers?
That would be cool but that’s a crazy amount of sacrifices for power, I wonder if they willingly sacrificed to the tree or would have been forced into it.
Which thematically fits into Oda's style. They titled themselves "Saints" out of their own power and ego, despite literally being Devils.

I think they’re the ancient weapons like Pluton. They have the same naming conventions and the recipes/blueprints on the ponegliphs is a means for summoning those things.

The scars on the gorosei suggest is a reminder that not only are they not invincible, but that they're still humans,

I do wonder if the one piece is buried within the world of one piece, like under marejoise, or under reverse mountain.

I mean they’ve been 10,000 m or feet below sea level at Fishman Island, they’ve been up in a sky island or two at skypia, all around the ground line and some of them come from different oceans.
What’s that that’s new and exciting for their adventure? They haven’t been on top of the redline, but they’re inevitably going to have to go up there to resolve whatever is going to go on with the WG. So they don’t necessarily have to go there for the one piece, but they might.
1. The original 20s: Each group with a mythological figure as guide, the god of those poeple. They all decide to "make piece" then there's a problem: The "we don't know what" about Imu's sister. All of them being gods, after the incident they split and make war. Some of the die and their power is born again as fruit to be eaten by the user intended by fate (like Lufy) while the few remaining (the bad guys) who won this plausible war, still are gods and cannot die by natural death but they receive damage can can die from others (they have scars).
2. Similar but they all are fruit users but to keep them alive (the only 2 limitation of the fruit is that you cannot stay in water and that you lose the power if u die). They search for the Ope Ope to create new immortal gods, to rule the world even stronger than now.
By the way Shanks for me was a celestial dragon like Doffy. When he goes to the Reverie, the Gorosei says that normally people like him are not allowed in those circumstances, not in general. He is something different then a "normal human" and he probably decided to stay in the common world to find Nika itended user and change the balance of the world because he knows (because of his past as celestial dragon) what happened during the time.

@@FencingMessiah didn't he ? All his atacks didn't really face kaido even in g5 until the final one when he did the only serious atack while being nika. And he is stressing as much as he ever has as the sun god.
@@silentgaming5010 yes his attacks did faze kaido that's why kaido started dodging them. He even exclaimed how Luffy could hurt him now with his new red hawk attack. And was obviously taking damage with conqueror haki attacks. Just because he took a long time to go down doesn't mean he wasn't taking damage
Regarding why the Gorosei have Conqueror's Haki, what if thats one of the conditions for Imu to pick them for a Gorosei Spot? picking them from different times and ages would make lots of sense, that would make each of the Gorosei the Goat of his era. Make them inmortal and buff them (maybe granting them powers ensures loyalty to Imu in some way too)and you got urself Powerhouse roster as loyal servants.
I feel like the reason doflamingo knew everything he knew was because he was a top contender for this and went through part of the process for this, before being seen as a mistake which is how he knew

I believe they are some kind of primordial beings that existed during the void century that opposed Joyboy's nation/world.
I'm still going with my theory that all devil fruits were once living beings themselves in the void century (Nika being Joyboy) and were "destroyed" by Imu and the Gorosei but didn't expect that Joyboy and the rest of the devils would reincarnate themselves through the fruits because, as Vegapunk said, the devil fruits were manifested when people yearn for evolution, something the Gorosei can't stop people from, progress.
It's like Gurren Lagann. The Anti-Spirals (Gorosei and Imu) managed to suppress and limit the Spirals (Joyboy) but then couldn't stop its descendants and Simon (Luffy), with the help of Spiral power (Nika), beat the shit out of them.
Doflamingo actually said what he wanted was the personality surgery, presumably so he could still Ainu’s body.
As for Mariejois’ National Treasure, in Japanese National Treasure refers to a person, so he meant Imu.
I’ve always wondered why the Goresi didn’t just take out Doffy if he knows that much info 🤷♂️ Doffy said now that he was captured now they would silence him? Couldn’t they just done that anyways?
They are either lazy or they aren't that strong if you know their secret. They would send sb like Lucci to off Doffy and, let's be honest, there aren't many people in the verse that can 1v1 Doffy; unless they have broken fruits.

Means you can live forever but can still be killed. In other words you don't age. The gorosei are invincible at least so far, considering their regenerative powers.. In my opinion is not a power derivative of the op op surgery

I don’t think the Goresei are immortal 🤔 I believe they can regenerate as a result of taking an enhancement something like the pills in the Tamate Box like Hordy Jones took. They confirmed themselves they were not around during the void century, when Luffy awakened his fruit, they were discussing not being able to capture the Gum Gum fruit, then they explained how it avoided the “World Government” for 800 years, then Jupeter started explaining what he “heard” about the true awakening… “They say his body had the exact same properties as Rubber…. I heard it’s the most ridiculous power” That doesn’t sound like someone who was there 800 years ago. My guess is that they took something to make them regenerate, the effects will eventually run out and that is how they get defeated.

“Immortality” in fictional media is a blanket term that has varying degrees……it can range from “can’t die of natural causes” to “exists in a realm outside of death”

Imu's fruit can be similar to Luffy's fruit , remember how fluffy can awaken robots with his heartbeat and all that jazz? Maybe Imu has something similar , something in the lines of "Black Flames"
And I think that summoning circle is one of his powers . These 2 fruits might be the only ones with strange mystical powers , godly powers .
EDIT : And I think Luffy just scrachet the surface with his DF powers , he might be able to bestow powers aswell , if not , just a battlefield "roar" something in the lines of , similar to Jedi battle meditation .

yeah, u got a point here. but also Enel and WB (currently BB) have god like fruits that are not only zoans. In Skypiea is said that the elements have gods (they have even temples for each) they are: Ground/Earth God - Gura Gura no mi user awakened, Water God - Mizu Mizu (never seen in animes, maybe Imu`s fruit?), Lightining God - Kami Kami no mi - Enel, Shadow God - Yami Yami no mi awakened user and lastly Sun God - Nika currtenly with the badass straw hat. Imu having some kind of this df makes a lot of sense
I'm really liking the idea that they are devils of some kind. I like the thought that how each of the is like some sort of "government minister". They give major horsemen of the apocalypse vibes, as of each of the things the things they represent can be used as an ultimate weapon. As if the president's cabinet was staffed by the very people who have the knowledge to use those offices as a weapon against the weak. Just food for thought.
There's a part of me that likes to think that the Gorosei are actually, like, *legitimate* demons like what the Tot Musica from the movie was - something not actually fully explained by our current understanding of One Piece.
There *is* magic in the world - in some degree; like, things that don't make normal scientific sense *work* here. Jango's hypnotism isn't a Devil Fruit but instead something he learned to do - Kumadori and Rob Lucci both display the Life Return technique that gives them absurd amounts of control over their bodies, Kumadori able to move his hair like it was prehensile and Rob Lucci managing to completely shift his body structure to change his physical stats. Those are just things people learned how to do naturally with no devil fruit - and shit, Nami's Clima-Tact doesn't make any reasonable sense either. Usopp has said as much and *he's* the one who made the damn thing. He was under the impression it was basically filled with party tricks.
The movies might not be canon necessarily, but people have pointed out a lot of the movies seemed to prototype events that would come up in the story proper not too long after. I'm leaning more and more towards the belief that there really was an ancient race of 'demonic' entities in One Piece and they won their conflict with the world at great cost, leaving only Imu and the Gorosei left to rule the world they had won.
I could be entirely wrong of course, but I think the Gorosei may genuinely not be human and are simply taking the guise of human form for the sake of running the world they had conquered. The biggest piece of evidence I have for that might very well just be a throwaway line, but it could also be the key if it *isn't* a throwaway. Bird-brain says to Lucci that 'it would be hard to prioritize one insect while exterminating the hive' which indicates a very clear regard that humans - even humans as *important* as a CP0 member who was the second Awakened Zoan user in the entire series to keep their mind intact - are simply not regarded as being in any way on the same level as them.
It could be just more of the same entitlement idea that Arlong, Doffy, ect have shown before - they believe themselves to be above the rest so much as to be gods, and are fundamentally incorrect about their belief. But what if this time we actually have an antagonist who doesn't think they're above humanity because of their own misguided perception, but because they *actually are* fundamentally a different species.
... also I just remembered that One Piece has a greater galactic society out there in the stars - Enel fought space pirates on the moon, implying a greater space society in which those pirates could have sold their ill-gotten gains. So the possibility could exist that Imu and the Gorosei are *actually* aliens.
The summoning circle reminds me of when brook ended up on a summoning circle back when Kuma sent him flying
It would make a lot of sense why there was a Marine outpost guarding the Op Op fruit if that’s where it regenerates. They already admitted to feeding slaves fruits for laughs. It’s possible they also use those same slaves to accomplish goals, like sacrificing them for that eternal life surgery.

10:24 it was lost in translation but it was obvious in the Japanese release that Doffy was talking about Imu, unless we see otherwise Imu is the treasure of Marie Jois.
it seems that they're numbered youngest to oldest looking. like ju peter got the surgery done then they had to wait a few years to find the fruit, give it to a doctor, perform the surgery, repeat for all the other members.
I 100% agree that Imu probably is the only one who can use the "sacred treasure" to grant immortality. Maybe the idea that spawned the Op Op fruit was based on the treasure, but thematically I love that one of the greatest treasures of the World Government would be able to grant immortality. This is just another thing that would make Luffy diametrically opposed to the WG, because we have seen time and time again Luffy, like Ace, is not interested in living a long life but more interested in living the current life to the fullest at every moment even going so far as to use abilities like Gear 2nd or Ivonkov's hormones that shorten his lifespan.
What could be more the opposite of Luffy's character, then a group of people who are immortal but spend all their time sitting around in a room plotting how to keep control of the world so that no one comes for them and kills them. They basically aren't actually living lives at all despite being immortal.
I feel like the appearances of the Gorosei possibly being inspired by real people who were, at face value anyway, trying to improve their nations, might be important. What if the Gorosei really were trying to help when they were mortal but were sort of brought over to Imu's side either by being shown the truth of the treasure of Marygeoise or by Imu's logic and plan or being corrupted by the transformation and power? Like what if the Gorosei were the former Luffys, Dragons, Vivis, etc, of the old worlds, now become the thing they struggled against?
Dragon isn’t confirmed as saving Luffy from Buggy, he only saved Luffy from Smoker.

Maybe one can take their haki to such an high level that one can manipulate their own devil fruit power...I mean haki can cancel fruit power...maybe the next level is modifying devil fruit power...like turning tusks into blades

Nah dofi's tought process is about the personality switch. The treasure is either someting about imus or the gorosei's bodies or something that can only be acessed with a unique quirk of their bodies (namely circle tp)
It would be cool if all the Gorosei came from a tragic childhood under the Gov from the 800 years time and they all became Celestials. That would make them great antagonists.
In Yammy's case being the 0th. It's the worst plot twist.
In Ulquiora's case, it's more about the Big Three being scaled wonkily. And their fights all ended terribly writing wise. And Ulquiora is a focused antagonist fighting Ichigo.

The "problem" with the Gorosei is the story telling. They're unknowns at a time they shouldn't be.
I think they are OP and right now even Luffy can't beat them, but have a specific weakness/enemy (I'm betting it's the giants and their permanent war, forcing them to stay up there away from them).
Theories are many, sure, but if I'm right the next saga will be the Strawhats going back in time to the beginning to learn something specific… how to kill them.
I think this because we've a big question mark on the history, the poneglyphs and specifically the JoyBoy letter. If Nika was a hero, and obviously powerful, what would make him to waste time writing letters knowing he won't win yet?! And this would also explain another mystery, why Wano borders need to remain closed… because that's where the diary says Luffy will find the power to go back in time.
I think the treasure is probably something that sacrifices your lifeforce for power, much like the treasure of fishman island. If you are ageless due to the ageless surgery, then it doesn't matter how much life you pay, you just get infinite power.
What if all the gorosei were former gum gum fruit eaters who once stood against Emu. Then, upon turning to join Emu for whatever reason, had their Nika power corrupted. This process, which made them immortal, would also kill them in a sense, and so the gum gum fruit would return to the world and leave them with demonized gum gum fruit power.

If they got the surgery that grants eternal life, it might be the case that it is more powerful than we thought. Perhaps it doesn't just stop aging, but actually makes it so that you literally cannot die. Donflamingo probably knew this secret, and that is why he wanted it so badly from law.
i have always agreed with this theory. Thge Op Op was used to make immortals from different parts of the world at different times. Maybe promise of power to kingdom leaders that would change sides back in the void century. A payment for Betrayal as it were. The Op op must have been stolen at some point. In terms of their power, i do believe Imu has the ability to give it to others like she did the 5 elders.

as for immortality, it brings all the sins along with it... you dont have the same level of hubris when you have a short life span like luffy, or even shorter, if your willing to give it, like luffy does, for his friends.

if you have conqueror's haki you will not follow others, it make sense, but there is an exception and its when the other has a greater conqueror's haki than you (like when Ryleigh follow Roger or when Zoro follow Luffy)
Blackbeard knew about the immortality granted by the OP-OP fruit. He said it after the battle but wasnt really interested in it.
The key are mystical zoans I would guess. All devil fruits are related to something existing on the planet of One Piece, be it some abilties based on existing physical/chemical/biological elements, resulting in Logia/Paramecia fruits, or just animals / Zoans. But we barely know anything about the mystical ones.
The Lunarians were viewed as gods before and they are like mystical zoans in their base form. The Gorosei are also portrayed like awaikened zoans.
I want to see doflamingo back in the story so bad, lots of interesting plot lines he could be taken in with how much he really knows about the world

People are 80% water so if your a water god you can craft people. And if you live forever you can figure out how to haki the devil in your stomach permanently so you can have multiple devil fruits. This is a guarantee. There's no way Blackbeard, a former random nobody, will be the only multi devil fruit user who did successfully. Don't forget also that vegapunk made devil fruit powers out of nothing and put them into his creations. Imu has access to a sky laser you really don't think he has other shit from the past that can do wild naughty things?
I don't want to personally subscribe to the theory that the gorosei aren't devil fruit users, but there's a thought that came to mind about Imu, I really like to propose that Zoan devil fruits are stronger than what we usually give them credit for, and one potential way in which this could work would be by their awakening having the same properties of a paramecia (so for example, imagine if kaku could turn objects into giraffes as dofflamingo turns them into string, which YES, is an insanity, but it's to illustrate the concept). if we also follow the idea that Imu has a different "cartoon themed" fruit like Luffy's, one potential awakening power that ties back to cartoons would be anthropomorphization, or giving objects and creatures human-like qualities. theres already a fruit that does this, being that of big mom (specifically looking to a Homie like Randolph, also good time to mention that Big Mom's fruit is amongst the more cartoony themed).
So maybe looking at the gorosei, they could be any form or number of fantastical creatures much like the ones that already exist in One Piece (Strong World's specimens are looking interesting right now) given human forms via paramecia-style awakening of a human human fruit used by Imu, OR even if we subscribe to the theory that the gorosei are actual devil fruit demons, this anthropomorphization could have still been induced in order to make them subservient to Imu
I think there devil fruit users who had the devils within the fruit take over the human host
A possibility not addressed here: They could all be projections of Imu's will. Rather than autonomous creations that were made and set loose, they could be extensions of Imu, which is somewhat supported by their apparent ability to communicate instantly over extreme distances without any use of transponder snails or any other devices. If they are all faces of a single being, that interconnected thought process makes sense.
Wild side speculation, I low key expect Imu's Devil Fruit to be the Nightmare fruit, able to manifest fears and terror from his mind into the world as tangible effects. The Elders being demons tracks with that as well.

Are there Vampires in one piece yet? I feel like that’s one of the only classic folklore races missing in one piece. And a race known for “seemingly” immortal lifespans. The sea devils could be some kind of Vampire race that’s been removed from the history books
My thoughts on this is that the gorosei has ancient devil fruits but it was before they started classifying them as devil fruits. And since then they never got to awaken them naturally like Luffy or Yamato they used science to artificially awaken them hence the black smoke and not it being white.

I always believed that the Gorosei were handpicked by Imu to run the world. Imu personally raised and trained them in world politics.
The more we see of the gorosei, the more I think they have some type of twisted knock off of Nikas ability. They have their demonic abilities but we’ve also seen them do things that make 0 sense like tusks turning to blades, shooting those poison balls, etc. seems almost like a watered down version of what Luffy can do
Not as strong as Luffys ability as he can change EVERYTHING to his imagination, but they seem to be able to change themselves/their abilities in a similar fashion
The gorosei are the pirate crew of emu, they have all possibly somehow undergone the eternal surgery which is why they have lived this long and seem to recover from attacks.
Luffy will eventually need the eternal surgery from law which will even the fighting field.
Just hit me that Oda is contrasting the Stella satellites with the 5goresie. The satellites are highly individualized despite being “part”, or created from Stella. However the 5 goresie are clearly separate individual beings who act as a hive mind for Imu. The 5 satellites are gaining individual feeedom while the 5 elders are slaves

i have a theory that the Gorosei were once normal humans / dictators / kings who were made immortals by past Op Op fruit users who gave their life up. These 5 x immortals are normal humans without devil fruit powers, they are basically a blank sheet of paper available for power ups. Imu sort these 5 x immortals to bring "peace" and "order" to the world and elevate their inner desire/demons into powers whom they became it

All of the Gorosei are failed joyboy "candidates" from different eras over the last 800 years.
Imu killed them (ending their quest) and resurrected them as puppets / drone extensions of itself.
I thought that was obvious since their mythical animal names was not that of a Devil Fruit but of the mythical creature itself. I think their Devil Fruit that corrupted or influence their Devl Fruit user into fusing with them. Like their cloud cloak is black while Luffy and Yamato's is white. Lucci's is black and is bloodthirsty like some hunting animal.

Admirals is the only decent argument u have and that’s only cause we haven’t seen any of them go all out. But usually in every group in the series there’s a clear difference in power. Acting like every yonko, admiral, vice admiral etc is equal or relative is just false more often than not.

The thing with the Gorosei and them not having devil fruits that I don’t understand is, they have the smoke veil around them that we’ve seen for awakened zoans. So what else could that indicate if not an awakened zoan, is what confuses me. The most likely things I think are they’re clones like the Vegapunk clones, or they’re like the awakened zoans in impel down, but mythical zoans have their wits about them still even if the zoan is still the one in control. But I feel like their powers HAVE to be related to devil fruits in some way, even if it’s not typical
My theory is that the devils within the Gorosei devil fruits took control of the human host

Is something I noticed all the way back after it was introduced is that both the fishmen and the Minks have a form of ability boosting or like temporary power up drug that the current residents have no clue what it's origins are and that the history about it goes back as far as anyone can remember in both cases so more than likely the void century and our remnants of the advanced technology of the past kingdom, and that makes me wonder if maybe when we get to Elbaf we get information on maybe another ancient weapon or possibly another drug because somehow Caesar clown was able to get already born children to slowly gigantify to an extent whereas if this past Kingdom was so technologically advanced that they created the giant that's currently sitting on egghead and Even with Vega pumpkin's current knowledge she couldn't fully replicate how advanced it is tells me that the drugs that belong to those races must be important in some way considering their relationship to the story
I honestly think that the Gorosei are selective people prior to the Void Century Imu chose to have people perform the immortality surgery on after they showed signs of defying the Advanced Civilization to overthrow it. Imu wanted at least 5 people who appear to be from different places so that when they make a debut back in the past (due to marines only knowing them from portraits) they would appear as people from different corners of the World with different skillsets to charismatically rally other kingdoms and imply the advanced one were oppressors when they actually werent. If that were the case, Imu pulled the biggest rug pull
I think that if the Gorosei didn’t eat a devil fruit then they’re the first holders of said fruit, Vegapunk said devil fruit powers come from dreams/hope for the ability they want, and then the original holder passes on/dies and THEN the fruit goes into circulation.

Imu is immortal and has been controlling the world since JoyBoy 800 years ago and he's been waiting for him to come back. Oden and Roger knew of Imu and found writings of JoyBoy stating that he will come back and liberate the world which means defeating Imu. The devil fruit Luffy has is JoyBoy and Joyboy knew he would come back after dying.
