I prefer the IPS system. Yes, it might be a bit slower than the surface drives but it opens up owning a Pershing to new customers. I once saw a pershing (with surface drives) in the 60 feet range piloted by a private owner and his friends. And even though he was decently skilled, you could feel the tension on board trying to dock the yacht.

Can you imagine the disappointment on your guests faces when they finally climb aboard your Pershing only to discover you have POD drives. Not for me.....a Pershing should always have Surface Drives. The prop spray or rooster tail is part of the entertainment and DNA of a Pershing.
