A new week, and new upgrades at the crossing...there’s a certain symmetry to that! And the double-decker bus is an unexpected and wonderful treat! That combination definitely made my day, thank you!
Excellent video! I do quite like this upgrade tbf - I like how the barriers operate silently here, although I do wish they kept the old wigwags and yodalarms if I'm honest. I'm stood there somewhere... possible far back 😉👍🏻😁
Nice! These were the barriers that were meant to be trialled at Chilworth in 2016. I wonder what the next crossing will be to get these? If they do them in long, large, full barrier types, maybe Chard Junction could get two of these in the November barrier renewal?
Thanks! 😎 It definitely appears these were the barriers that were suppose to replace Chilworth's GWEs, considering the barriers here were manufactured in 2016. The barriers and upgrade come with a new signalling solution by 'Atkins', which I believe was suppose to be used at Chilworth. I'm not sure if these barriers will be installed seperately, or whether they're used in conjunction with this digitally-enabled signalling system, so it's a wait and see I guess 🙂
An interesting but weird looking upgrade at the same time! Funny how SPX barrier arms have been used. Having said that, nothing will beat the usual SPX standards IMO. Great video though! 😁👍👍

Lol 😉
It was a very busy bus route as there were buses here every 5-10 minutes. No problem 😎
Most of which were double deckers 😊
Imagine how many train stations this lad has to wait at to get this kinda content
Quite a lot, many hours spent 😊
WE LIVE THERE!!! We have crossed this many times but not since the new barriers have been installed. Can’t wait!!
Cool 😎 It has had new barriers, new lights and new alarms, so a complete upgrade 👌
Very nice protected crossing. Gives you plenty, and I mean plenty, of time before the train comes.
Oh yeah definitely lol

Thank you! 😎 It's quite an interesting crossing - glad we visited 😉

New gate is my favourite level crossing
Great video! Those look a lot like SPX gate mechs, IMHO.
Thanks! The barrier arms are exactly the same, but the barrier unit / motor drive is different, made by Atkins
great
Thanks! 👍

Thanks Will 👍 I quite like these barriers - they're something different at least 😎
This upgrades is bit on the down side with me. I will always think with SPX Barriers.
I think it's alright - but SPX Barriers are the most common of course 😉
I love the UK
Great video
Thanks 😎
Nice catch 😉
Thanks! 😄
Very nice video
Thanks 😊
Workingham has those now
Not much of a difference. I'm still surprised at how long of a wait time you have until the train arrives.
Yeah, it's still quite a long wait surprisingly
Do you know what these barrier units are called?
What class is that?
In the description, a 456 (2-car) with a 455
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel ok thanks. What is your favorite level crossing to trainspott at?
