I just had to stop and share how much I'm loving this conversation! You had me at Spaceballs in the first five minutes 🤣, and I think it’s fantastic that you're also on Substack! I have full sets of both Museum Aquarelles and Albrecht Dürer pencils, and they’re both amazing! I personally find the MA pencils to be more pigmented overall, and I think there are quite a few lightfast options in the whole set of 76. Of course, that might vary with the quality of chemically treated water, right? The AD pencils are awesome too, and I really appreciate how the entire barrel matches the pigment color-it’s such a nice touch. Oh, and Faber-Castell’s color and numbering system is so well designed! It took me a little while to get used to Caran d'Ache’s system, especially with their recent updates. One of my favorite things about the MA range is that the packaging includes the pigment codes for each pencil, but I guess that just makes me a bit of a nerd! 😊 Thanks for the great video! I look forward to checking out more videos on your channel!❤️
Hi, thank you for the kind words and your take on these pencils. I love using them both. About the FC-all of their colors in all pencils & markers match. I thought that's how it should be! I look forward to more conversations!
I have the same set up as you. I have the 24 A.D. and the 12 CD’ (on sale). I like them both and use them together. I think too many people jump on bandwagons so to speak, kinda fad followers, imho. Both are very good WC Pencils; as a hobbyist AD are simply more cost efficient. Thanks for the demo 😊
Hi. While I do really like the Caran D’Ache museum Aquarelle, I actually much prefer the Faber Castell Albrecht Durer….funny how everybody prefers the Museum aquarelles.
I agree, I think that since their Luminance are so loved (and expensive) that people just assume they're better. I have a couple of other brands in my 'wish list' and when I get other brands, I'll test them out and compare.
It's helpful you compared two of the best brands of watercolor pencils. Thank you. God bless you!
You're so welcome, and so I'm glad you enjoyed it. Take care!

Yeah, agreed. Cost seems to be correlated with hype. You're welcome and thanks for watching 😃

Sure. Faber Castell is 24 colors, Caran D’Ache only 12. Twice better😂
Just as joke, excuse moi.
