  • This video demonstrates making of Edible Glitter Dust at home with only 2 key ingredients. I was amazed with the end result. I will be soon releasing another cake decoration video using this edible dust.
    Ingredients:
    1. Gelatine Powder - 3 Tablespoon
    2. Water - 9 Tablespoon
    3. Food Color as per required

    before I always bought some lustre dust from the shop, but not sure they're halal or not and so many ol shop sell without the lable, so sometimes I wonder is it really edible 😭 but now, let's try later make by your own

    There seems to be a few steps missing and obviously done off camera. Gatekeeping a recipie is pointless if sharing, it would be helpful if you show all the steps to prevent failure and false outcomes.

      No, u have to use electric grinder as gelatin sheets are plastic like films, which is hard to grind with manual ones

      Add little white colour to the gelatine mixture then a tint of black to make it grey.. This will work

      Hi, i have never tried on whiping cream, but i hope that it will be ok as long as glitters r applied on last moment

      No, needs to be acetate because it's shiny, the shininess will transfer to the gelatine. Baking paper is dull and will make the gelatin dull.

    Hi what tablespoon are you referring to? The regular tablespoon we use to eat food or the measuring tablespoon (15 ml)?

      I hope we can not use it in drinks , they will give sparkling at the moment u put in the drinks , but gradually they start swellling by absorbing the drinks , as they are gelatins bits .. I didn’t try but I think so ..

      If you don't have OHP sheet, you can otherwise use cling wrap or plastic file folder.

    What happens if when the cake starts to sweat? Does the glitter swell being that it’s still gelatin?

    This can be used for cake right ? So, like normal luster dust. Mix with liquid and apply.

      Salam, the only concern with very small quantity is to get it powdered in a grinder.

      is a 3:1 ratio. 1 part gelatin to 3 parts water. ( in case you want to make a larger or smaller batch)

      There shouldn't be any moisture in the blender and the sheet should be very dry.

      Yes, once gelatine dried, it has transpatent glassy look...so after grinding we will get sparkly dust

    I’ve been making this for years. What kind of glitter did you add. Or is that just the camera making it look shiny like glitter. Because the hello glitter doesn’t look shiny like glitter when you chop it . Looks like plastic.

      Nothing i added, ir no camera technique.. It is what i made.. If u follow exact procedure, u will get exact same and it will look shiny.. but dont make it fine powder which makes it looks dull
