Sir thank you for the tip on sealing the sphincter. Its called moolabandha in India. There is some way to seal the sphincter during hindu push ups also. Could you do a video on that. It is supposed to prevent leaks and pump energy upwards along the spine.
Id imagine you exhale as you come forward and inhale as you come back. Unless you hold it in the front 'cobra' position. In which it would be the other way around. I'll probably do it the former way though and exhale as I push through inhale as I pull back.
Thank you for this, believe it or not I’ve been trying to find your videos/ books . Should have tried here first . I think your methods are my best chance of repairing my battered old carcass 😂
The great Gama wrestler use to do 5000 squats and 3000 Surya namaskar eveyday and use to lift stone around his neck which use weight 1200 kg and walk for distance..
Matt it looks like you are exhaling on the way down all the way to the top then take a fast inhale before exhaling on the drop again, did i see that right?
@@mattfureysays7710 so today i did 500 , 5 x 100, not in a row yet and i think i am starting to get the breathing right, the thing that amazed me is the better range of motion even on the first set and better balance plus it took me about 10 min less to do my 500...plus still dont got it perfect yet so will get better....i am restarting hindu squats recently to help heal a judo injury, when i was 15 my dad made me do them, he learnt them from Karl, he use to come to my dads judo school to train when he wrestled in Montreal, but i am sure my dad missed a lot of details like the breathing i guess lol, he wasnt a big fan of exercises only wanted to fight haha anyways thanks for the help Matt.
I remember this way back in the original videos for Combat Conditioning.
hahahha, after watching that in my pre-teen i actually did 500 hindu squats daily for a while
do you still do them.
This is great info. Thanks Matt!
This is magic Matt, extremely beneficial when you want to go beyond reps of 25
+ tongue resting on the palate, nose breathing only. To seal the microcosmic orbit
you can exhale out the mouth and still circulate through the governor and conception channels its more fire though

@@robl1616 way to go!
If you sink the diaphragm into the pelvic floor then is it wrong to exhale? Doesn't the lowering of diaphragm gives more room for air to enter?
Different breathing methods lead to greater ability. Natural breathing or reverse breathing.
FABULOSO!!!!!
Great vid! Side effect, you don't need to cut your nails anymore... 😂
How to push the diaphragm?
Are you breathing in all the way?? Full inhale? I feel I don't get my lungs all the way full, only half way.
Moolabandha
You should never breathe in threw the mouth.!! There a reason why our noses has hair. The mouth doesn’t have a filter like the nose. VERY IMPORTANT
