Seeing it the first time before I had completely caught up to the War arc, I actually thought Kisuke had summoned a giant avatar of Unohana as his Bankai. I was so confused because I didn't think those two had any connection.
Maybe as a scientist, Kisuke didn't see how restructuring would be efficient in a training scenario or he just didn't want to reveal his Bankai at that point in time when Sado asked him for training. there could have been a multitude of reasons why Kisuke didn't want to use his Bankai thus he lied. Or as you said, Tite Kubo didn't know what the Bankai could have been and/or changed his mind
I agree with everything ya said but would also add that the bankai is actually a horrible thing to train against, especially taking the context of who asked him (Chad) to train against it.
Or maybe it's a can't distinguish friend from foe type like Kyoraku's as shown when askin is deconstructed immediately for being in Kisuke's bankai range and apart from eldirecto chad's a close ranged combatant don't know how he'd fair in that??
Another possibility could possibly be derived from how it seemed to unravel once the bankai ended. If everything it repairs and restructures just falls apart afterwards? The training session might go fine, but the aftereffects would be disastrous.
I disagree with the assumption that Urahara's bankai is good for training. Chad needed to face off against something he can understand and match with his own power. Benehime changes the rules of fighting by manipulating everything. It would just be confusing and very hard to deal with.
Yeah. Chad won't overcome his bankai unless he will go easy with him cuz it's only training. But that's pointless cuz you want to learn and that would be difficult if kisuke goes changing constantly.
I sadly have to disagree. The hardest aspect of any training is that you cannot reach your goal in a short time, because if you trained too vigorously your body won't be able to keep up and it will collapse. In other words, training takes a huge toll on the body and if you don't rest enough or give yourself enough time to keep up then it will do you more harm than good and you will end up injured or crippled. Now when you have something like Urahara's bankai in hand, any injury can be healed and your body wouldn't need time or rest as you can instantly modify it to keep up with whatever difficulty you're going against. It's actually the perfect and most suitable bankai for training!! (not by fighting against it but rather by using it to help you)
Theoretically it can, but before it does Kenpachi would have to go bankai and go berserk, and I don't think it's a good idea to approach him in that state, let alone operate on his body 😂😂
I have to disagree about Urahara's Bankai being perfect for training. Remember that Zanpaktou's have their own likes and dislikes too. I don't think the "Great Mother of Healing" would appreciate being a punching bag for Sado for several weeks just so he can train.
Do you think we've seen everything that Katen Kyoukatsu Karamatsu Shinjuu has to offer? I think it would be super odd for the bankai to only have one story, since the shikai just has so many attacks. Head-canon incoming, but maybe it has different stories, but Kyoraku can only use 1 per activation? Maybe he picked the story he thinks would work best against Lille? What do you guys think?
I agree, I don't think Kyoraku has any say in how his bankai plays out. If it does have other stories (which does seem plausible) then Katen Kyoykatsu picks whichever one it feels like doing and Kyoraku just has to act it out accordingly
@@justinedwards5047 Yeah I think so too. My main point was that I don't think that one play was the only one he has. But I did forget that the games in the shikai were up to the zanpakutou
I love his Bankai. What westerns comics do, is create a character like “The One Above All” who is essentially the writer himself lol. So I wouldn’t be surprised if there are multiple plays. Honestly it’s too bad Bleach was picked up by Shounen Jump. Because the company heavily directs the author. ( Favorite character polls ~ is why characters will suddenly be revived, or have a bunch of death flags but somehow survive lol ) Kubo was just getting into the groove of things. Imagine if the blood year arc was 150-300 chapters. But let’s hope his Bakai will never decide to tell a Russian play!
As to how he was able to create the opening well outside the range he seemed to be able to manipulate Askin's body I have 2 theories: 1) he can affect things by spreading the stitches out from himself, by concentrating the power to the thin stitch line he is able to extend it farther than by just using a sphere of influence around himself 2) he was lying about the range of effect, he wanted to lure Askin into a false sense of security so he could later catch him by surprise with his backup waiting outside the field. Perhaps he had already made whatever modifications to his arm he had planned on making and it was going to go back regardless. Considering the range of effect for similar captain class characters his sphere of influence would seem to be laughably small
It's interesting the link between Uruhara and Mayuri's bankai. Mayuri's is reconstructed and modified to fit the situation. Uruhara's bankai reconstructs himself, other people and the area around him
The simplest answer is pretty much the best one: Kisuke lied about the range. He activated the ability and intentionally targeted the guys arm, then restitched him when he left the "range" to pull his opponent into a false sense of security. The Bankai isn't good for training because when Kisuke is done with it, it takes back everything it changed. So if Kisuke restructured himself to be stronger, his restructured body would be ravanged when he reverts his Bankai.

You can see his stitches reopening. Those stitches are connected to his eyes, and are the stitches that represent the restoration of them. If they are being lost, then it follows....
It’s sad if the manga wasn’t rushed we could have the backstory of Urahara and Yoruichi 😭😭 but can’t blame him after all before his fight we had a long fights of Pernida and Lille!
The fact we got Urahara's bankai, Yoruichi's hidden form, Grimmjow joining the fight, Kenpachi's bankai, Toshiro's true bankai, Byakuya's new technique, Ichigo's horn of salvation, and last but not least Aizen vs Yhwach...all in about 20 chapters is a clear proof that Kubo was on the verge of collapsing and he had to end the manga as quickly as possible. Actually I remember Kubo was hospitalized exactly at the time of Urahara's bankai reveal, and everything got rushed af from there on.
I have an explanation for Kisuke not training Chad with his bankai: Because he didn't want to reveal his bankai and wanted to keep it as a last resort hope this makes sense😀
@@satyumm Yes, this theory actually does make sense as before the Quincies revealed their existence, they knew about the Shinigamis' abilities because they were collecting intel by observing them in Soul Society from the shadow dimension collecting their 'daten'.
@@josefplacek4200 Eh, given the way he was bleeding out after the stitches vanished I don't think Kisuke was wrong to say it's ill suited to training. It gives me the impression that its the sort of thing you'd only use if you had to. If he wasn't so rushed at the end we might have been able to learn what exactly it costed Kisuke to use it. It wouldn't be the first bankai to have a high cost for the user. Hell even just having to take time to let the areas that were stitched heal as if they were actually stitched would make it unsuited for training.
It does seem like a last resort, backed into a corner, no other option kind of Bunkai. Unlike Renji's that more of a power up Bunkai that is perfect for training. In fact I believe Chad and Renji have trained together a good amount of times.
Anyone else think that Kisuke Urahara's Bankai looks like Unohana Retsu? (4th Squad Captain) The whole stitching back together kind of reminds me of a surgeon in a sense.
My interpretation along with the “construction/deconstruction/reconstruction” is maximum utility. Urahara is always in control of a situation and the multiple functions and abilities of his shikai and bankai are shown to be manipulated and ultilized to exactly what Urahara needs at that time. Kind of like a multi tool on steroids.
I remember his conversation with another protagonist regarding Sado saying, "he requires training with a bankai" when asked why he doesn't just use his own, instead of Renji who was sparring with him, he replies, "my bankai isn't appropriate for training someone." Give the guy credit. He was NOT kidding!
The training isn't meant for Kisuke though, it's meant for Chad. His bankai may be the perfect tool for setting up training environments and scenarios, but Chad wouldn't have a clue what was going on.
We also have no idea what the consequences are for those its used on. We saw Kisuke starting to bleed out almost immediately after it was released. If that's normal, then its absolutely unsuited for training.
@14:00 . This actually came to my mind as well as its perfect for training situations. Nice content! I hope the anime show us a very detailed animation of Kisuke. Also, no homo, Kisuke's deep, and trolling voice.
When his Bankai is in effect, he can alter reality to a certain degree. Within the range of his bankai's effect. When his bankai wears off, or seals back, the effects wears off. Like dialing back to normal. As you can see if an enemy leaves the effect range of the bankai, the effects are reversed. He LITERALLY stitched two places together, essentially making a wormhole. Making two parts of a place the same. One part HAS to be within the effects of his bankai, and with cause and effect, the other doorway will appear regardless of range. At the end of that battle, the stitches became undone, so he was dying. And thus we didn't get to see him again for the other fights. In regards to his bankai not suitable for training... He's lazy mainly. He ain't going to spend time training someone when he has other chess pieces to manipulate and info to gather. His bankai might not be an ideal training candidate either too. Since it is a little overpowered, and him being who he is, doubt he can hold back. If he fights Chad, Chad would be in melee range and definitely be in the bankai's stitching range. And Urahara would just easily win. It won't be much of a training.
Oh wow, didn’t realize you were closing in on 30k. I discovered the channel around 5k or so, congrats on the continued growth! Anyway, I found Urahara’s Bankai to be amazing. I do wish we could have gotten a little more from it though, maybe a little more offense from her if it is even possible. I do understand that she was meant to “restructure” or “rebuild” though. Very creative idea for a Bankai. This, along with Shunsui’s Bankai were two of my favorites before the story completely came to an end.
Yeah his bankai totally lived up to the hype, things felt a bit rushed so like you I wished we got a lot more fleshing but yeah this was really cool to see in action. I always had the sense there was a certain type of synthesis involved with his zanjutsu and other shinigami abilities like his zanpakuto is basically a swiss army knife of kido in the Bleach universe, which may be connected to his relationship with Tessai.
It’s definitely not teleportation, it’s far more conceivable that he cuts two holes in the fabric of reality and folds it like a piece of paper. Which makes his zampakto even more impressive.
Had to watch this before I binge watch ur manga discussion they are pretty lengthy and you always deliver! And you broke 30000 woohoo! If Kisuke’s Bankai made him new eyes completely then you could only imagine what his vision must be like unless the strings then become skin or whatever eyes are made of.... Which it doesn’t look like from his arms! I dunno Kisuke’s bankai seems perfect but I dunno if Chad would like being stitched up like a doll haha
I think you need to talk about Ukitake. He's so underated by everyone, even by Kubo.... We all know he could be relevant, yet Kubo let him to take a passive role.
I agree, I think he should have been in the story more. Kubo should have emphasized his kind parental figure vibe to Rukia & Co or made him a capable force to be reckoned with. Because in the end, it honestly feels like he was just used as a way to fix the soul king for a limited amount of time and thats it. That was his importance in this manga. And even then, his sacrifice was undermined. I wanted to feel more for him, but he was such a non-presence that I could only muster up vague sympathies for Rukia. Even Kyoraku, his best friend didn't even have much of a reaction.
I always assumed that Kisuke was bluffing about the range in order to lull Askin into a false sense of security (so he could make a opening for Grimmjow)
I just finished a reread of TYBW and this fight is part of volume 73 where Kubo is pretty much just throwing new bankai after new bankai at us. Urahara only got a single chapter to show off his bankai, and the ones after him like Kenpachi get a similar treatment. I'm glad we at least got to see it, but I can't help but feel as though there was a lot more that Kubo wanted to show us, especially when you consider Yoruichi got to show off her powers against Askin for a longer amount of time.
The fact we got Urahara's bankai, Yoruichi's hidden form, Grimmjow joining the fight, Kenpachi's bankai, Toshiro's true bankai, Byakuya's new technique, Ichigo's horn of salvation, and last but not least Aizen vs Yhwach...all in about 20 chapters is a clear proof that Kubo was on the verge of collapsing and he had to end the manga as quickly as possible. the teleportation ability seems very similar to the way Aes Sedai travel in the Wheel of Time series. in that series they connect to locations by making them similar in structure, allowing the traveler to step from one to the other. and as they only need to open these gateways on one side, the range is nearly limitless
Bravo👏🏿. All the Bleach fans I've watched talk about this series either never talk about Urahara's Bankai or didn't understand what it did. Since I never got to that point in the series, just stopped reading short of the last 20 chapters, I was curious as to what its ability was. Your break down was easy to digest and now I feel superior to the supposed fans/commentators who will undoubtedly watch your video, then backtrack to their channels like they knew all along. Just wanted to give you props before the hacks come out of the woodwork and benefit from your superior explanation.

Maybe all 4 different abilities have different range like dismantling his enemy has a limited range but still outside of Urahara's body and the ability to re-assemble Urahara's body the range be limited to his body alone and change be permanent until next re-arrangement(something he probably can do much better on himself than from range). Making doorway must have a much longer range.
I love how similar mayuri and kisukes bankai releases are in terms of style. Both taking on creatures/things that are completely separate of the main blade.
Dude I'm so glad I found this channel I've been dying to know kisuke's bankai. I've just subscribed and will tell my m8s to check it out. Keep um coming
I dont know why but I laughing so hard from how often this guy said how much he loves such and such. Guy really loved a lot. Envy. :) Great video. Made me laugh.
Anyone notice how in Mayuri's fight against Pernida Mayuri restructured the nerves of his hand at one point to keep control. This suggests to me Mayuri copied this ability from Urahara's Bankai.
The question about the range, maybe his attack range is short, I'm assuming that was an attack when his arm split open. But opening up a portal isn't an attack 🤔. The openings are even different colors. Idk
@@nith4126 for what reason was his arm split open? Was it an attack? If it was maybe the range is shorter cause he just jumped backwards and it had no affect.
King I’m guessing it was to scare Askin, as Urahara likely had a plan. He mentions that “Most people don’t jump back when their arm opens up”, so he probably wanted Askin to act on instinct and draw his entire body into range, so Urahara could go for the kill and reconstruct his heart.
the discussion is great and so much info and background given! Maybe try to make a shortcut to the bankais name is my only feedback but otherwise amazing content!
I figured it wasn't useful for training because any time he's unraveled and restitched, ONLY the stitching is undone, so the damage is permanent. It's a high cost high reward ability and should only be used in a life-or-death situation
I always think Urahara's bankai works like shikamaru's shadow technique. the radius is quite small, but, if the stitches makes a single line, then he could stretch it further
Imagine him with buffing Kenpachi. When we learned that captains shikai/bankais could become larger then sky scrapers if they didn’t forcefully condense them. Was kinda hoping Kenpachi’s shikai/bankai literally became planet/sun size. ( Because of his inability to communicate) Hence why they banned him from training, limiting him. ( As he could be a threat to the god)
I hope they expand in the new Anime, but thinking about Kisuke, I believe he'd prepared for this eventuality way back at the start of the arc: Think about it, we knew when Ichigo was captured by first Quincy that Kisuke had already figured/planned for the worst. He knew about reclaiming the stolen Bankai. Nel says before she dives through the gateway he'd created that he'd literally told he this was gonna happen. He knew who the Soul King was and had seen him BEFORE Aizen, which would suggest he was familiar with the Royal Guard and Soul King palace - the means of travel that the Royal Guard used, he sent them to Kukaku Shiba to use same means of transport. He had the same means of healing as Kirinji Tenjirō, he knew the soul-infused stuff that Hikifune Kirio got promoted for, he was able to get Ichigo to pull his Zanpakuto out of his own soul, similar to how Nimaiya Ōetsu gets Ichigo to infuse his soul into the Asauchi as well as having that ridiculous training space creation ability that Nimaiya uses too. And he creates stuff/names stuff like Ichibē Hyōsube - The guy was a walking Royal Guard squad on his own...
Almost like hes the 0 squad secret weapon. Soul Society's sleeper agent along with Yoruichi. No longer affiliated with Gotei but comes an goes as he pleases with no repercussions from the Royal Guard.
Does Senjumaru Shutara know or ever interact with Kisuke? Because Benehime seems to be a lot similar to her design. The weaving/stitching abilities with artificial arms.. Mayuri and 12th division connection..?
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO MAKE THIS CONNECTION Although it was Kirio who was in squad 12 creating the open captain seat and probably better known by Mayuri because they have similar work- I feel like in some way whatever squad it was, Kisuke and Senjumaru couldve been connected But Kisuke was a squad 2 assassin before so it's kind of hard to connect
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they mention (I think in the aizen/hueco mundo arc) that kisuke was the head of the 12th, then when he left miyuri got the position?!?
Great Bankai. Can't wait for the Anime to depict all this next year. I do think some things will be massively reinterpreted but I think they should be for the 1000 year BW arc.
I like that both Mayuri and Urahara summon giant creatures. Always wondered how Big it is, is it just the torso or a whole giant woman like Sajin's bankai? That'd be very cool
Added so much to kisuke and really highlighted his mystery. Beautiful character, this bankai was very well kept behind the scenes. Can’t wait to see on tv💯
Personally my favourite Character in Bleach. I remember back when he was training Ichigo , where he said that his bankai is not suited for training and now we know why xD
Well, Orihime can reverse the state of Kisuke's injured eyes or perhaps like Mayuri, Kisuke may have regeneration liquid. If I'm not mistaken, Orihime did a splendid job to heal numerous injured shinigamis post-war alongside the Squad 4.
The only part of Kisuke's bankai being revealed that I dislike is that he says he won't just reveal what it can do when Askin asks him, but then Kisuke strikes him once and he details exactly what it can do. Everything else is awesome
Kisuke might have lied about his Bankai's range to lull Askin into a false sense of security. I always suspected Askin's arm closed like it did (stiches) due to the effect of the Bankai, not because he left its range. Like Kisuke had his bankai restructure Askin's arm somehow and that was going to play into the fight later but Kubo was rushed so we never got to see that. Just a thought.
It ironically reminds me of the first kenpachi, i can't remember her name, with the bloody sword, but this is one of the coolest bankai's in the series, and he is one of my favorite characters in bleach!
Old video but it popped up in my recommended, my own theory to answer your two unanswered questions about the range and training chad. Range: it has a relatively small range around itself that it can manipulate directly and instantly as seen by askins arm unraveling as soon as its activated and reverting when hes away from it. However i believe the "range" is whatever the stitches are touching therefore making the range unlimited as long as he travels the stitches to said thing I.E. the stitch trail that can be seen once the gift ball dissipates to grimmjow As for chad its a simple answer his bankai is not a "battle" bankai like say renjis. It restructures and changes parameters and warps reality which is hardly condusive to getting used to the speed and power boost a bankai comes with like you would see with zabimaru being a physical object. Training to dodge will not build the muscles you need to block(considering by uraharas point of view most captains and lt hed be coming across will have a physical manifestation bankai), there would be no "fight" against benehime.
I love kisuke's bankai. It's abilities fit him so well as a character. Hope that this is one of the things that gets expanded upon in the anime (amongst other things). This is one of many fights I'm so incredibly excited to see animated!
His eyes are back, but we don't know that was by the effects of his bankai, Kurotsuchi has a serum that can regrow body parts, and we know from his line about Nemu that he feels Urahara had bested him in all his other inventions, so it's pretty much guaranteed that Kisuke could regrow eyes for himself even if his bankai didn't fix them permanently
@@justinedwards5047 his bankai reconstructed his eyes restoring sight to them and even doubling his visual prowess allowing him to find the crack in Askin's gift ball sphere, which is exactly how he was able to signal to Grimmjow to use that opening, he purposely tricked Askin to remove is eyes for that purpose lol kisuke thought waayyy ahead in advance after analyzing Askin's abilities xD he even predicted several outcomes to how the fight might end and had Nel waiting on the other side as a contingency and fail safe if he were to die.
Not sure if it has been mentioned, since i did not scour the comments, but it is possible that the effects of his banki are all temporary and last for only as long as the bankai persist.
Kisuke was always my favorite character in every way. I love strategists/tacticians which kisuke is in spades. And Beninhime was always my fav Zanpakuto because i love versatility. I wasnt dissapointed when we saw his bankai. Personally I think Kisuke disengaged Benihime after opening Askins arm, i think he weakened Askin when he did that because conversely.....when Kisukes arm is opened he uses Benihime to strengthen his own arm. So i think we deduced Benihimes range wrong. Because we see how far the stitching goes outside the gift ball to portal Grimmjow in. But I think you have both his shikai and Bankai correct, they are deconstruction /reconstruction or recombination. Like you said Tom one simple power but the applications versatility makes it the perfect weapon for kisuke and quite frankly my favorite bankai.
benihime cuts and ties space. increasing her range is simply a matter of stitching together little bits of space one after another. if the range is 10 meters, stitch the space next to her to the space 10 meters away. now the next 10 meters are in range. and on and on. and that's what that panel shows. all that space has been stitched together, so it may as well be right next to her.
So it's obviously been a long time since I read the manga, but man I forgot kisuke got blinded because askin bullseyed his eye balls using those rings. I was already wanting them to animate the final arc but now I really do want to see specifically kyoraka, urahara, and Yamamoto's bankais done proper justice. I even hope rukia has a boss moment with hers.
I'd suggest the bankai makes a stitch in reality that is within her range and to a location or being Urahara's likely observed prior. Covers all the bases

So I wouldn’t be surprised if there are multiple plays. Honestly it’s too bad Bleach was picked up by Shounen Jump. Because the company heavily directs the author. ( Favorite character polls ~ is why characters will suddenly be revived, or have a bunch of death flags but somehow survive lol )
Kubo was just getting into the groove of things. Imagine if the blood year arc was 150-300 chapters.
But let’s hope his Bakai will never decide to tell a Russian play!
Kisuke is my favorite character and I love his mysteriousness and character. Benehime is amazing and I can’t wait to see the Bankai in the anime. 😍😍

@@omegagamer8589 stfu bleach hater
As to how he was able to create the opening well outside the range he seemed to be able to manipulate Askin's body I have 2 theories:
1) he can affect things by spreading the stitches out from himself, by concentrating the power to the thin stitch line he is able to extend it farther than by just using a sphere of influence around himself
2) he was lying about the range of effect, he wanted to lure Askin into a false sense of security so he could later catch him by surprise with his backup waiting outside the field.
Except Askin destroyed his eyes and Kisuke used his bankai to restructure them again, and yet he still has his vision.
@@4KT-AL you are mistaken love, his eyes are gone after his Bankai deactivates. Go ahead and reread Chapter 665-666 if you don't believe me, or wait for the anime to be ambiguous about it whenever that comes out lol
@@nownamedrob no you're mistaken love, he never puts away his bankai at all after this fight. So you're just assuming stuff nor did his eyes returned to being destroyed.
@@lyrexices9965 Chapter 666, pages 11-13, Kisuke collapses, bankais don't persist after the user goes unconscious. Byakuya taught us that way back when he dismantled Renji. Also, in that saaaame chapter, pages 11-13, in the full spread of just Uruhara, the effects of his Bankai undo themselves, as his changes only remain while it's active. You can see his stitches reopening. Those stitches are connected to his eyes, and are the stitches that represent the restoration of them. If they are being lost, then it follows....

I have an explanation for Kisuke not training Chad with his bankai: Because he didn't want to reveal his bankai and wanted to keep it as a last resort hope this makes sense😀
The Quincy knew about most of the captain's bankai except Kisuke and maybe Shunsui
@@satyumm Yes, this theory actually does make sense as before the Quincies revealed their existence, they knew about the Shinigamis' abilities because they were collecting intel by observing them in Soul Society from the shadow dimension collecting their 'daten'.
Kubo just didnt know what his bankai could be at that time... He didnt plan to reveal it ever, but he was forced to write past Aizen's defeat.
(4th Squad Captain)
The whole stitching back together kind of reminds me of a surgeon in a sense.

Kubo DOES listen to metal when in his BLEACH world, this very well could be a thing.
Its crazy how much your channel has grown man. I love how these anime channels stay alive long after the shows have ended.
One of my favorite Bankais of the entire series. Fantastic video!
Never clicked so fast tommo.
Same!!!
I remember his conversation with another protagonist regarding Sado saying, "he requires training with a bankai" when asked why he doesn't just use his own, instead of Renji who was sparring with him, he replies, "my bankai isn't appropriate for training someone." Give the guy credit. He was NOT kidding!
It was at that moment when I could wait to see his bankai
I absolutely love your videos ❤
Dude as a massive bleach fan I finally found your channel well done sir well done 👏
Urahara was very active throughout the series, especially the final arc.
Publius Syrus True... but he’s talking about Ukitake.
@@LuckyDT Oh dang misread. Still, Ukitake singlehandedly saved the universe. So it sort of still applies.
@@spaceocean2530
He could be the real villain of the Fullbring Arc. Like he's a good person now but he did something wrong in the past.
I always assumed that Kisuke was bluffing about the range in order to lull Askin into a false sense of security (so he could make a opening for Grimmjow)
i love your videos, your format, the quality is crisp, the explanations are perfect. great, great channel.
i like Urahara's Bankai, it really does fit that Urahara is a man of infinite potential and it's the same for his' Bankai

I love your style of presentation and vocabulary. Very distinguished gentleman esque crossed with journalistic professionalism.

Bravo👏🏿. All the Bleach fans I've watched talk about this series either never talk about Urahara's Bankai or didn't understand what it did.
Since I never got to that point in the series, just stopped reading short of the last 20 chapters, I was curious as to what its ability was.

Man your content is flawless. You have done an amazing work!!

And I gotta say, I became a fan of Urahara’s bankai with time. Now I love it. One of my fav’s.
Anyone notice how in Mayuri's fight against Pernida Mayuri restructured the nerves of his hand at one point to keep control. This suggests to me Mayuri copied this ability from Urahara's Bankai.
Yeah!!!! Best bankai for sure thanks a ton for covering!!
The question about the range, maybe his attack range is short, I'm assuming that was an attack when his arm split open. But opening up a portal isn't an attack 🤔. The openings are even different colors. Idk
King
It wasn’t a portal tho. It was just the Reconstruction, it was just the arm being reconstructed.
@@nith4126 for what reason was his arm split open? Was it an attack? If it was maybe the range is shorter cause he just jumped backwards and it had no affect.
King
I’m guessing it was to scare Askin, as Urahara likely had a plan. He mentions that “Most people don’t jump back when their arm opens up”, so he probably wanted Askin to act on instinct and draw his entire body into range, so Urahara could go for the kill and reconstruct his heart.

"Bodhisattva of compassion: modifying crimson princess" makes sense really.

I enjoy your extensive analysis
I figured it wasn't useful for training because any time he's unraveled and restitched, ONLY the stitching is undone, so the damage is permanent. It's a high cost high reward ability and should only be used in a life-or-death situation
I always think Urahara's bankai works like shikamaru's shadow technique.
the radius is quite small, but, if the stitches makes a single line, then he could stretch it further
With the anime coming back. Do you think well get more details of Benihimes abilities? Perhaps a Urahara/ Yoruichi flashback.
Imagine him with buffing Kenpachi.
When we learned that captains shikai/bankais could become larger then sky scrapers if they didn’t forcefully condense them. Was kinda hoping Kenpachi’s shikai/bankai literally became planet/sun size.
( Because of his inability to communicate)
Hence why they banned him from training, limiting him.
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO MAKE THIS CONNECTION
Although it was Kirio who was in squad 12 creating the open captain seat and probably better known by Mayuri because they have similar work- I feel like in some way whatever squad it was, Kisuke and Senjumaru couldve been connected
But Kisuke was a squad 2 assassin before so it's kind of hard to connect
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they mention (I think in the aizen/hueco mundo arc) that kisuke was the head of the 12th, then when he left miyuri got the position?!?
Love your videos
Great Bankai. Can't wait for the Anime to depict all this next year. I do think some things will be massively reinterpreted but I think they should be for the 1000 year BW arc.
great video, i love your avatar as a bleach character, it looks like it can go toe to toe with kisuke or aizen anyday of the week.
Of course the one time i want a character to explain their bankai abilities to the enemy they dont
True and worse case scenario Mayuri can use actual souls to Frankenstein you back together like he did with Izuru. Kira mopped Shaz yo forrel
Orihime is trash tho
I always wonder why his bankai look like unohana when she in kenpachi mode
Great content. Well explained. Thanks.
It ironically reminds me of the first kenpachi, i can't remember her name, with the bloody sword, but this is one of the coolest bankai's in the series, and he is one of my favorite characters in bleach!

Yachiru
Mind-blowing I love Kisuke, and so much more now
I drank one shot each time you mention this Bankai's name. Didn't see that coming.
You are my hero bro ♡
Old video but it popped up in my recommended, my own theory to answer your two unanswered questions about the range and training chad.
Range: it has a relatively small range around itself that it can manipulate directly and instantly as seen by askins arm unraveling as soon as its activated and reverting when hes away from it. However i believe the "range" is whatever the stitches are touching therefore making the range unlimited as long as he travels the stitches to said thing I.E. the stitch trail that can be seen once the gift ball dissipates to grimmjow
As for chad its a simple answer his bankai is not a "battle" bankai like say renjis.
Nice explanation bro
his bankai is so bizarre, it’s almost like having a antagonist level stand ability
I think Kisuke’s eyes are back because he operates in CFYOW
We don't know if that was Orohime or his own Bankai though.
@@Jaymiecain1 Don't the effects of Kisuke's bankai disappear when he deactivates it?
His eyes are back, but we don't know that was by the effects of his bankai, Kurotsuchi has a serum that can regrow body parts, and we know from his line about Nemu that he feels Urahara had bested him in all his other inventions, so it's pretty much guaranteed that Kisuke could regrow eyes for himself even if his bankai didn't fix them permanently
Hanataro healed Urahara’ eyes.
Urahara: Bankai
Big Unohana: What's up?
Thank-you so very much for this explanation Vid.
Its insane that the final arc is nearly as long as the the rest of the story combined and honestly I hope they take their time and make it longer.
I'd suggest the bankai makes a stitch in reality that is within her range and to a location or being Urahara's likely observed prior. Covers all the bases
