*great **Latest.Bike** , a little difficult understanding the penny picture for adjusting the front derailer. Once I figured it out it worked great!*
"Ride the way you enjoy the most." Yup, that's truth. We're in this hobby/sport/culture to have fun. I tried fixed gear and found it wasn't for me. But I love my single speed and my road bike. Different tools for different jobs and they both give me loads of joy!
I appreciate your consistent honesty and humility, keep it up!
Thanks for all the great info on ur channel! I’m a noob so I’m basically just following all your advice as a starting point. Thanks for setting me up!!
Always love your videos! Random but I wanted to say how well your haircut looks! Really great cut for you, bro!
I’m now 60 y/o my track bikes were always steel and always had double straps never clip less pedals.Keep it clean.
Another great vid Zach.
just what i’ve been waitin for 😀😀
Wasn't sure if Zach was gonna make any more vids. Yaaay subscribed
Great Tips and great content.
I like it.
Best Wishes and support from germany ✌😉👍
I love your style man. Cycling is not serious. Just fun!
I've found that bullhorns work even better for me than risers. I get a bit more leverage while climbing and in a headwind, I can rest my arms on the horns and get out of the wind. Drops definitely suck on the street, I only ever use them in the track
@@marianr.0231 They can definitely look pretty funky depending the size of the frame tubes or the style of bullhorns
thumbs up for the definitive source for all things bicycle. May you ride forever Sheldon
lol Sheldon?? 😆
I'm gonna have to try a mid-ride burrito break, top tip!
Nothing like riding a clean bike ❤
nice bike dude ! Steel is real , I love my Reynolds 531 single speed conversion , drop bars for me though man
Came for the bike hacks, stayed for the hair.
Finally you've got a good haircut (Subs. for 3 years), when you go here in Philippines bro. I want to ride with you and have some hillbombing activities.😁
Nice vid, nice cut
is Fyxation Bikes Good? could you do a recommended best fixie tires - i was thinking of thickslicks(not sure)
Im in the same boat as you,and I ride every where, dare it be a ride or an errand and such. I have no excuses since I'm carless.
Was just thinking of checking out your channel. What a coincidence.
Bullhorn bars on my fixed gear
Any interest in 650b wheels/tires? Just got a Kilo WT and want to know all that would go into making the switch.
Zach, what do you think about a fixie gravel bike with disc brakes? is it worth? or rim brakes are better?
I love your approach to cycling. We tend to get too wrapped up in the data and forget how fun just riding is. Great vid! Keep putting out great content!
You hype the kilo tt and wide tires. What do u think of the kilo wt?
High protein and high carb like pastas oats and veggies and of coarse drink water.......hot tip! before I really got into cycling I was a runner......caffeine is a life saver for runners so before I go for a long ride I brew some coffee to get that extra boost.
Can you give me the link for the fender pls
Hi Zach, you said here in your video that you use 58cm frame. May I ask what is your height? Thanks!
I learned a lot about fixed gear from your videos. Thank you
Zach is a real one for admitting he purchases pants frequently
That was really useful and funny and I don't think your diet is that bad
I was under the impression that the owners of Leader Japan had purchased the USA rights to/I.P. of the original Leader brand… can anyone confirm/refute?
Have you ridden any other models of fixed gear than the wabi
LOL. HAHAHA.
Great video Zach 👍
That mid ride burrito sounds dangerous hahaha
are there any 144 ovals ? I did not find any
Can i ask why we never got an official review of the wabi retro
(The yellow one)?
Ryuk Salinas makes him look like a complete rip off
I can't stand drop bars either. You aren't out here alone.
Word - from a training, nutrition and rest fanatic who's won loads of races. Can I say "word" again?
Zach's stamina method = Fausto Coppi: 'Ride your bike, ride your bike, ride for bike.'
I like your hairstyle, can you tell me what it is?
I’m take your advice with a grain of salt , I’m starting to take supplements only when I’m doing a lot of miles and and playing sports
I can ride dang-near whatever I want. But skinwall tires? No. Just no. Why would I want structurally-inferior tires that get mucky? Just give me a set of GatorSkins and call it a day.
As an aside, though. I just completed a build on a higher-end steel bike (sorry; not fixed). I have never been a steel guy, but I kinda had to build this one. I must say, this bike is amazing. Smooth, quick. Steel is not unreal.
Lots of knowledge dropped in this video.
Taiwan looks humid af
Me trying my 600mm mtb bars on my fixed:
WHOA IS THIS MY BIKE?
can you plz put a wabi add in the middle of the video 2
subliminal Wabi flashes throughout the vid would be good too👍
Walks in doctors surgery.
Doctor: -sighs- let me guess, Zac told you ask me some stuff
So in a nutshell, you wash the bike and then just ride it. Thumbs up.
for the oval chainring question
I used to ride it on my single speed mountain bike and it ran fine with no problems and as for cadence it did smooth it out a bit but I'm not sure if it would make any difference on a full on fixie.
2 Things are for sure, 1 it would look awesome and 2 it won't really hurt to try.
I cannot compute.. your chain was way too loose in that case: oval chainrings are meant for derailleur bikes only
@@khazsilverstarthat's a common misconception but the chain length doesn't actually alter with an oval chainring and even if it did it would be so marginal that it wouldn't have an effect or be hard to account for. as the chainring moves into the taller portion on height it also gets narrower front to back by the same degree causing the chains tension to remain the same.
@@kuma_score7536 if my chainring is not round I notice! Without the derailleur picking up the slack, only very few teeth engage causing friction and wear. When skidding there's also a big shift in the forces which causes teeth to just break off.
Well said that you don't do cycling to get healthier or finner you cycle cause you do it cause you enjoy cycling, 😁
Nice taste in Beer!
Hey Dude someone else on the Q&A thread asked this but as you didn't answer. How are you doing?
Is "fabricbike" a good brand?
Someone got a haircut. Looks nice.
I'm wanting to convert my 130 BCD to 144 BCD but don't know size of bottom bracket, best crank arm length etc.. can you do a video on converting 130 to 144?
Get a new BB
Are se lager bikes good?
FIFA 1 I ride the lager frame only and I love it. It’s not the prettiest or lightest but it has a comfortable flex but not to much. I’m always on my back wheel, bunny hopping pretty big drops, throwing my bike from falls and it’s pretty straight and zero dents
Oval chainring will absolutely not work on a fixed gear bike. They need a derailleur to handle the change in slack between the two extremes.
I ride an oval chainring on my single speed mountain bike which does not have a spring-loaded chain tensioner. Never dropped a chain or had an issue with the chain be coming overly slack. If you do the math, the chain rap is always the same number of links so the only thing that's changing is the angle from the top of your cog to the top of the chain ring. Trigonometry says that that tiny bit of angle change doesn't make for much more length. It may seem counterintuitive.
Sure it will work. Same number of teeth is the same circumference as long as teeth have the same pitch. Its common sense but maybe not intuitive.
Untrue. I ran an oval chainring for a long time on my old Fuji feather fixed gear. When the oval was vertical there was very little slack. When the oval was horizontal there was plenty more slack but not enough to drop the chain at all. I rode this way for 2 years before selling the bike.
Oval chainrings= #biopace They didn't work in the late 80's/ early 90'sfa, why now?
“Pound of salt”
Waby cicles send to México?
I just don't understand the pants on a bike 100 percent of the time. Seems like self-torture.
You know that leader is back and has 2019 frame sets now. Hmm ..
never put shit on tires, ever
You didn't answer my damn question Zach
Are you half filipino??
Is it legal to ride drunk? (Asking for a friend)
It is in the UK if that's any help? As long as you have control of the bike.
Ever heard of common sense? In the US Its illegal to operate a vehicle in an impaired condition.
Get off the booze. Try not to seem so stupid.
Ever heard of the mess life?
slry can u google?
This q/a: Idk Im just a casual rider. To every question. No hate but it's weird to answer a bunch of questions where you don't know any answers
9:00 worst advice EVER!!! so i do a 250km ride and the next day i need to do 150% of 250km? ARE YOU INSANE ?!?! GET A BIKE AND SOME FRESH AIR
Next ride, not next day he's assuming someone who's already struggling with stamina 1) is not riding 250km, and 2) are not riding every day
It's not that serious guy, relax
@@reprisemarketing517 you should be able to ride 250km if youre not disabled, 250km is a distance not an effort.
@@reprisemarketing517 why wouldnt you ride every day, you like polluting the planet or something??
cerberus1981 STOP FEEDING THE ANIMALS. this idiot has never ridden 25k!
if your pants wear out you need to ride more (loose that weight buddy)
