So after hearing all TheFatRat's songs I suddenly realized how closely those songs represent nowadays' struggles- Anxiety, depression, bad thoughts... All his songs are made in a fictional world, right? My theory is this fictional world is created by a person that suffers from those bad things. They created a world they would be happy in - other TheFatRat's songs are a visualization of their fantasies, their feelings...Hell, I am sure some of those songs represent events in the real life! I don't know if I am right, of course, but think about it- Never be alone (met a friend), Unity (doing stuff with that friend), Monody (someone died), The Calling (calling for help against inner demons-bad thoughts), Hiding in the blue (hiding from those "demons"... all these lyrics share a pattern that's focused on "hyping" other people. Lyrics in this song say that the person is hiding in the blue because the demons (inner demons) attacked Arcadia, their world, maybe even their REAL world- "monsters made of gold" - bad thoughts that were caused by financial problems, so they "escaped" and "hid" between the clouds - They started looking at the sky, stopped thinking and just enjoyed the show. Don't know how much symbolism is there, but I am sure there some is. It's even possible the person that created this world is TheFatRat himself. Now I know I am probably wrong, just thought it would be cool to share :-D

TheFatRat has such a unique style. If you’ve listened to one or two songs, you can pick his other songs without even knowing. Not to say that all his music sounds the same, not at all. His songs just have a certain sound that is just unmistakable.

It's his choice of instrumentation and how he runs his beat timing. Recently his work has a lot of orchestral accompaniment for his electronic stuff.

This makes me think of a legendary hero who fought in an epic war to save mankind from demons and angels clashing, only the war was lost and her powerful mage friend/lover sent her away to a timeless floating island in the sky, until it would be safe to bring her home. Only the mage gradually turned to darker methods to survive and couldn't bring themselves to meet the hero again. Now a group of adventurers must find her and bring her back to have any chance of redeeming the mage and saving the world.

My 9 year old daughter LOVES all TheFatRat music. Most of the time, the songs that kids play are annoying, but she started playing these songs on Alexa, and it was the first time I thought - Hey, I actually like these songs! They are much better than what you hear played on the radio as contemporary music, and they are not all filled with crude words and sexual lyrics. Tons of talent, and I've saved them to my own play lists. I hope I can find some merchandise to buy for her!

he has been consistently been making new songs. at least 1 every few months.
This is the only thing that keeps me still able to be who I am today. As someone who uses these songs to relax to his favorte artist of all time, this is easily one of my favorite songs that you have ever made, and that’s saying a lot, as I really enjoyed we’ll meet again.

Plot of Chapter 1: Hiding In The Blue
The main character, (I'll call the Soldier Girl), fought against many monsters and demons. Unfortunately, she lost to them and took over the world of Arcadia, and now see her as she lays on a floating island away from the dangers and failures down below.
Countless days have passed by and the Soldier Girl is having a mental battle in her mind that is telling her who she is: a warrior. With the Soldier Girl accepting her fate, she now waits for more countless days for a savior to take her from her sanctuary island, and bring her down to Arcadia so she can take back her home.
Arcadia was destroyed by the Covenant. I think is just a remember. But, she "fought in the Legion", also the Arcadiums were called "The Legion", because they used many many soldiers from different races, species and colours. And when she foughted "against demons and golden monsters" i think the Demons are the Demon Corps (they were a big threat at their time, now just another faction), and the monsters the Protoss - Altairian alliance wich destroyed New Arcadia in the 3 Suns campaing.

Found this song about a month ago and i've fallen into a rabbit hole and i'm still going. Searching for the story behind all your tracks i've managed to get my wife interested in the music and she's not usually a fan of most of my music choices but this track hit hard with her and she now plays it at work and is starting to get her co workers hooked on it as well.
Loved it. Life in becoming hard for me and I truly wished to stay alone in a Island in the sky where no one will find me and living in the peace.
