He was more than a comedian. He has a law degree and a prominent actor. A very educated person. He and his wife.

@@laurie9557this. He never worked as a lawyer, but imo, it's much more correct to view him as an entrepreneur than "just" an actor or comedian. The media company he founded is really big and he was a top manager there besides acting and doing shows - obviously a workaholic. But try managing a lot of creative people, it's like herding cats. You need to be a true leader to pull that off. He probably always had a natural talent at leading people, then had his big company for 20 years. It shouldn't be a surprise that he's a good leader.

Thank you, this is very useful for other countries of the region mired in corruption who would like to shake up the political arena.
Dissolving the Parliament was a smart move, a democratic President can't do much without support in the Parliament. How did those elections go for his party?

    • @kyivindependent

Thank you for watching and for your support. That election actually also resulted in a landslide victory for Zelensky, as his party got 254 out of 450 seats in parliament, with most of the party members having never been engaged in politics before. As they were and still are a parliamentary majority, they didn't have to join forces with other parties for a coalition

In tragic moments, great statesmen are revealed. 1914 in France Georges Clémenceau, the tiger, stands out and resists, including going into the trenches. 1940 the English resisted the blitz, a great man Winston Churchill who motivated the English nation. 2022 a great statesman was revealed to the world, as were Georges Clémenceau and Winston Churchill. President Zelensky is one of these great statesmen

I've been watching his show very slowly; but I'm halfway along the second season, which gets very bold and abstract but I love his willingness to commit to a surrealist bit for an entire episode like when everyone else gets visas to leave and he is just walking around alone like "I Am Legend". I think the whole thing gives a good sense of what his strengths, charms and biases are. I hear right-wingers all the time (and unfortunately a few fools from the left who listen to RT) talk about him like he's hitler .> I've never met a fascist yet who was capable of laughing at themselves, let alone had an interest in making other people smile.

Thank you for this video compilation. As a citizen of USA, it is important for me to see the historical path of Zelensky and Ukraine. I understand his popularity was declining until the invasion occurred. It might be worth doing another video of what he was doing until the invasion of 2022.

It's clear that your president actually loves his country and its people. He has flaws, just like everyone else, but he also has more courage than we've seen in any world leader for generations. Ukraine will win. Ukraine will be free. Ukraine will build a strong democracy. May peace come to Ukraine, soon.

Her is how one publication recaps Zelenskyy's run: "When Volodymyr Zelenskiy sought to become Ukraine’s president he stood on a platform of peace. Zelenskiy promised to sit down with Vladimir Putin and to reach a deal with Russia. He would end the unpopular war in the east and concentrate on important domestic reforms. These included ridding the country of corruption and oligarchs." But, like most politicians, he was a liar. Instead of sitting down with Putin and negotiating peace - he declared it illegal.
