@@Framusic No, it is my nickname for the two guitar-players. They both play a Fender-guitar (a Stratocaster and a Jaguar). So I call them Fenderettes for fun. Two Fenderettes inside the Surfrajettes.
@@Framusic The former bass-player used a Fender-Jazz-bass. So she would be a Fenderette, too. Sarah plays Danelectro-Longhorns. The "Surfrajettes" are not full professionals, although they certainly are good musicians. They all have a day job. I counted four musical instruments, Sarah plays, in videos. Before she was in other bands. She plays bass-guitar, upright bass, baritone saxophone and acoustic guitar. I think she is very talented. All four "Surfrajettes" are good musicians and also entertainers. Greetings, Gerd.

I laugh a little bit when Shermy says about Sarah that she has not learnt a musical instrument, when she asked Sarah to join "the Surfrajettes". The truth is that Sarah did not play e-bass before she joined "the Surfrajettes". But she played upright bass and acoustic guitar. So I think it was not so difficult to learn the e-bass. In one content of her IG-account Sarah says after her first Danelectro-Longhorn-bass arrived, "Let's see if I can play it". And she learnt it quickly, I think, because she could already play upright bass and acoustic guitar. Sarah is a really great musical inspiration :-). I think she chose the Danelectro-Lonhorn, because other members of "the Millwinders" played a Danelectro-Longhorn when Sandra "only" sang in "the Millwinders". Sarah speaks of a smooth way to play the Danelectro-Longhorn-bass.

Hello there: Nicole , you should talk more in interviews. Your retro music show is ironic, because back in 1960-63, that instrument band genre didn't do very well in Toronto. I should know, I started my own band back then, and we played the same genre . Soon after, I joined the R & B circuit , with vocals of course. Selling instrumentals only is a hard gig. Good luck .

I only found these ladies a few weeks ago. Listening to Surf on Pandora they came up and I loved their sound! I had no idea they were and all girl band or so lovely ! I'm hoping to see them live after this pandemic subsides. In the meantime, I'm buying their music and looking for something like collectors T shirts . (And watching the HELL out of them on you tube...)

I'd agree with you... not only cause she's the female bassist... but well i don't want to make a very long story short. She has this, i don't have a word for it. Unfortunately the chance I get to travel to Canada is very small. I once been there for a month, but as I'm told they are not letting me in just as a tourist or so. Would need tons of paperwork involved. Sad enough, that's the mean reason why i lost my relationship with..... sigh, my Canadian girlfriend.
