I sent a video of a different type of pineapple that grows on a tree and it has no green stiff leaves at the top of it! Did you watch the video? Could grow trees full of pineapple instead of growing one at a time and having to wait 2 years before it grows a baby. Should try growing pineapple seeds too in your nursery. Say, if you can grow from their seed. It's difficult to locate them within the skin of the pineapple,, though, I thought, maybe, to let the skins dry out, not letting them rot. Maybe they would be easier to spot, or just plant the skin and see what happens! Of course plant away from other plants, in a bucket. I may try that myself!
