Unfortunately this beautiful performance is marred by a mistake: just after 6:47, the orchestra should enter with the change of harmony while the piano is still playing the trill. The score shown is wrong, but the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe has it correct.
This edition of the concerto (and recording) is really weird in that it has a few major discrepancies. Biggest one I can see is that the orchestral accompaniment in bar 320 of Mvt I (6:49) is delayed by an entire bar (it should really come in at 319)!! Their downbeat should begin with the end of the piano's trill. Just noticed this because the original passage in authentic recordings is quite striking - the soloist is resolving to Eb major, but the orchestra interrupts them by suddenly diving into C minor. Seems unusual for Mozart piano concerti.
Une musique géniale hachée par la pub en plein milieu des mouvements qui la rend inaudible. On est arrivé au bout du système qui offre des contenus et qui les massacre en retour.
Thank you for posting this lovely performance, though for my taste the piano sometimes sounds too forward in relation to the orchestra with Perahia's recordings of the Mozart piano concertos. 14,13 et seq. is one of my favourite passages in all of Mozart, beautifully executed here. One question: why does setting the Andantino in the dominant key of B flat major produce tension?
Other than perfect orchestration, use of relative minor, parallel minor, dinished and dominant 7'ths etc. Mozart always has two faces, the happy and the melancholic - you often see fleeting modulations to the above mentioned minor chords then back to the major again and the use of dominant and diminished intervals helps create that pathos. Hope this answer helps.
@14:13 Magic
Takes my breath away.
Actually it's just the circle of fifths again.

Precipotato, thank you so much for posting this and the entire catalog of fully scored Mozart’s piano concertos so that amateurs can follow along.
only the 14 y old magic atmosphere can explane this beauty
This concerto is not played often enough, sorely neglected by the repertoire
I know, it's a shame. It's good fun to play too.
...neglected?? Are u joking...? Anyway, after all, it's not bad that few people know it!😉

rather underestimated concerto, maybe for it's “semplice” style, but very beautiful indeed
Bellissimo, riprende i temi del periodo Italiano

I heard a bit of Bach's Italian Concerto in the 3rd movement.
I came here because of ...

It’s a piece 😐
Do you kiss your mother with that mouth
Haha . Thanks to Tiffany !
YESSSS TIFFANYYY

15:35 Roblox Steep Steps anyone?!?!?!
Which version is the cadenza of the 3rd movement?
0:02 Grosse Fuge?
Reference to Haydn's Surprise Symphony at 10:16 ??
This piece was composed in 1784 and the Surprise symphony composed later in 1791, so no.
That's the lames cadenza in the 4th movement
There arent 4 movements lol and if you mean the cadenza in the 3rth movement, in my opinion its the best cadenza ever!!
garbage music for the aristocrate
