- New York Knicks news following the win over the Philadelphia 76ers focus on Donte DiVincenzo, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Knicks highlights show they were down by 5 with 30 seconds to go but did not quit. Jalen Brunson hit a big 3 to cut the lead to 2 then Josh Hart stole the inbounds pass and found DiVincenzo for 3. Donte missed it, Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed the offensive rebound, found OG Anunoby who got the ball to DiVincenzo and he did not miss. He hit the 3 to make it a 1 point lead and the Hartenstein blocked Tyrese Maxey on the other end to seal the win. Joel Embiid and Nick Nurse complained about the refs on the final but it does not matter. Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks are heading to Philly up 2-0. We had the exact same reaction after Donte's game winner, haha. Was watching with my 9 year old son and he was going crazy too. I'm 41 and the best Knicks moment I can remember since Allan Houston's series winner and LJ's 4-point play.
Marshall, I have been a Knicks fan since 1976-77. I have lived through the 94' & 99' Finals teams.
This Knicks team has that same tough defense but the reserve this team pulls from is phenomenal!
The injuries were a learning curve for the rest of the team.
This is truly a 'Next Man Up' team!

I have been a Knicks fan since 1990 and I have to say that was the best thugged out game I have ever since and to be honest it makes me wanna cry when we won

Hartenstein earned his pay tonight. A really solid game throughout and then turning defense into offense at the end.
He gonna get that extension. Hartenstein did more than play into a payday. He earned the starting spot imo

Listen im 38 and is the best knicks moment of my life. 2nd is the starks dunk on jordan side story i lived in white plains in the early 90s my sister was dating anthony mason at the time. So starks and mason used to come by after practice. So as a knicks fan but jordan super FAN 😂 I was conflicted.. that dunk gave me more love and respect for those boys and my love of the grit those boys had. 2 days after that dunk starks actually asked me what i thought of him dunking on my hero😂😂..and as i in my red jumper n black abd red 4s looked at starks in cold blood said " but he still won" and shot my red and black mj basketball into my hoop😂😂 and anthony mason was in tears.. i had so much respect for that dunk and man i just couldnt show it 😂😂.. this moment is in my memory like that moment forever and i couldnt be prouder

I see people talking NONSENSE as usual. Brunson is still giving you over 20 points a game with rebounds and assists, so the team is not struggling that much. More importantly, the Knicks are still winning games, if anything is just proves that the Knicks are the better team....SMH!!!!
And as far as the next 2 games going to Philly, that's a 1-95 drive or an Amtrack train away for most NYer's, plus Villanova fans will be in the building, so the Knicks fans will be in there just as much as Philly fans.
Philly needs to worry about the other Knick players beside Brunson, you don't know who's going to go off from each game. That's TEAM BASKETBALL.

I agree with the announcers. Josh Hart reminds me of John Starks...gritty, not giving up, a burst of energy, not shaken by the moment and tough. I like Jalen Brunson. But I think he should try to mix things up. Since you know they're going to double team you, set others up until you can unleash the fury when we least expect it. I think he did well despite his struggles. Isaiah Hartenstein & Mitchell Robinson did well defending Joel Embiid.
But I think Thibs has to change certain things and the game wouldn't be so close. The Knicks shut down most of the other players on the 76ers other than Embiid & Tyrese Maxey.
But what Thibs needs to do is push the players to consistently: move well without the ball rather than standing around, cut to the rim for easy passes on the run as they did on some plays, speed up the pace which I think would hurt the 76ers, get out in transition (Josh Hart was a one man fast break & notice that he finished a couple of times at the other end & the 76ers couldn't stop him), pass faster out of double teams (Jalen Brunson did that a few times quite well), pass faster in general, do more ally oops, do more pick n' rolls and set more screens.
If the centers were more involved in the offense, Joel Embiid would get into foul trouble and wouldn't have as much energy to score 30 and above every night. Same goes for the other defenders on Philly. Also I don't get why the Knicks won't set real screens for Brunson. That would make it easier for him to get shots off without facing double teams or hands in his face.

The Knicks depth is were they will win yes Brunson has struggled and needs to pick it up but at the same time the Knicks have the best depth in this years playoff it takes so much pressure off him clearly from these 2 games alone as an example …. Thank you, someone gets it. That's Philly's problem, their identity and offense is wrapped in Embid and Maxey. Outside those 2, the other Philly player's don't do much. Fine for the regular season, All-star game selections and regular season MVP awards but EXPOSED and not enough to go deep in the playoffs which is why Philly constantly loses in the playoffs and will lose this series. Championships are won through a TEAM effort, not just 1 or 2 players.
If Brunson hits 50% of his shots instead of 25% Knicks would be up by 20 points! Knicks are the better team. ECF fo Sure! ECF will be crazy!
