@@ryukenss actually pretty good… I find that the more she talks to me in her language I pick up on the words a little bit more easier… the hard parts are the certain words that roll off the tongue
@@ronnybueller thanks for responding. I’ve found the hardest part is I’m shy so practicing is tough. I’m ashamed to say I’ve been around it for 4 years both in work and personal and speak very very little. I can generally understand the gist of a conversation though. Also, when it’s spoken quickly it goes right over my head. These videos definitely help but I need to find someone I can practice with.
I always wanted to learn tigrigna, am 1/4 ertrian and 3/4Ethiopian, i speak perfect amharic but no one taught me tigrigna. Thank you for doing these videos
For those who want to learn Tigrinya I would encourage to study the alphabets as well because in Tigrinya each letter has its own sound. Don't get discouraged by the fact the letters are many, but it is funn. It is easy to learn the language if you know how to read the letters. Words are formed according the syllable of the word. For instance "kemey" is "how" in English which has 3 syllables (ke-me-y) in Tigrinya it can be written in 3 letters and in English in 5 letters i.e ከመይ vs kemey.
So my mom spent years trying to get me interested in speaking Tigraygna, but gave up because I always defaulted to amharic is English because it was second nature to me. Now that my folks have retired and moved back to Ethiopia, I regret taking her lessons for granted. Thanks for the video. I hope to surprise her with some Tigraygna during my next visit home. God bless you!
This was fantastic! I live in Sweden and have a lot of eritrean co-workers. Theyve already taught me some, but this is so informative. Im gonna impress them some more on monday now!;)
I'm from ethiopia, addis Ababa and I just came here to learn trigaynya cause my friends at school speak many Ethiopian languages, even my best friend speaks amharic, trigaynya, somalia and English...and I only speak amharic, English & little bit arabic.. I really like the sound of trigaynya ...I really do ...it's romantic when u speak it..thnx for this video😀
I wanna learn Tigrinya cus i work with a bunch of Eritrean folks and they are amazing. Just wanna surprise them and show them i like them. Thanks for the lesson. Happy eastern. / Tito Sweden

Spanish, Pashto, Arabic, and now Tigrinya. Thank you so much for posting this content. I've seen some of your others and can tell that it hasn't always been easy for you to do so. Your effort is appreciated, sister. Also, the video about hair myths? The thumbnail image had her jumping up and down in the back seat of my car, very excited to see people that looked so familiar. This is such important work you are doing. All the way from Tucson, AZ USA! Bless you and thank you!
