I just picked up RipX DeepRemix for the purpose of ripping songs into stems, which I can then convert to MIDI to help figure out how to play that stem part live. I was highly impressed by how well the product functioned, and also picked up the basics super quick. It does what it purports to do well, and at a fair price.
@@PresentDayProduction Just spent way to long looking for this, found it in the end but think your watch time just shot up! I really need to get a life.
I’m 30 and I’ve seen some of the craziest advancements of a I for creatives since I started and this and scaler are completely mind blowing! What a time to create

The entire back catalog of recorded music is now officially open for business. Will raise some interesting legal disputes I'm sure. In the meantime - I've downloaded it and am about to get out all my ac/dc albums
Wow... that is pretty impressive. You can literally reproduce an entire track now? This gives a whole different definition to remixing...wow... im a bit overwhelmed. Afraid to purchase this because ill stop showering or shaving my beard lol.
Wow the precision is amazing. I currently use SpectraLayers but it can only separate the vocals and instruments from each other, and with quite the poor quality. This on the other hand is simply pristine and I will soon be a even poorer man
I spent $500 for a CD4copy of Unbirn Chold by Sesls Crofts. CD4 converter shivers csrtridge multitrack software. Now this software does it better in 12 minutes.
I'm impressed! Each new AI software of this type gets better at taking things apart. RipX would be great for 2-track live recordings, allowing you not only to remix things, but to fix bad notes on an otherwise great recording. I can't wait to try it out.
This fuckin thing is awesome...you can take the vocals out of old radio freestyles or I guess any radio freestyles of a rapper it its pretty clean...then you can clean it up with some of the included bells and whistles and have a pristine vocals ready for grafting...
Great video bruh thanks for your time. If my rip time says 11 minutes it really takes about 30minutes to rip. I know in the future versions they'll be able to rip instantly. This Rip X is insane.
I'm eager to download the demo and throw at it a track with complex multiple synths and pads in similar oscillation and note range to see what this can do... 🤔
I just tried this on "Cold Duck Time" from Swiss Movement. It extracted bass and drums OK. Neither track is "solo worthy," but would be very helpful for learning a song. I have not yet tried making a drumless or bassless track, but I suspect it will sound better than these extracted stems, and could be very helpful for play-along purposes.
Just downloaded the trial and started messing around with this. Fun software. My only Q is. When exporting stems via RipX I got a lot of cracks, noises and de-artifacts. Possible to get rid of those?

Is it just me, or does this seem to work WAY better than Izotope RX? Because I bought Izotope RX recently for this purpose, but... maybe I wasted my money?!?!?
Oh yeah and another thing, is it then possible to take the separated tracks and drag the into Pro Tools as seperate tracks in total sync and then tweak and add my own parts ?
I want to redo the drum track as its mic was scratchy/crappy ... Got the drum track almost clean trying to convert to drumscore and to midi to use tgat to get decent drum sound ... Will this help me?
Why didn't you sample the cat and replace the trumpet with an auto tuned series of me-owns? Still a great video as per your norm. Thanks guys, I may give this software a try.👍😎✌️
I'm from Brazil and I would like to know is there any way to prevent the AI from being able to separate the stems? Or else something that can make the separation difficult?
Seems like a very powerful and versatile piece of software, but the trumpet thing was pretty cringe :) Will give RipX a try though, I'm interested in the instrument isolation part. Thanks for the demo.
Thanks for the tip. The try before buy did not work for some reason though I never got the code. And now they are offering it at 30% of so I am wondering how serious that company is.
Is there any quality requirement of the analzyed track for this to work properly? for example i got a mix CD from 1993 and imported the mix via Windows Media player as an losless Wav. Would RipX be able to handle it and separate the Stems so i can Remix the Track?
The better the track, the better the results. But from memory I believe there’s a trial - give it a go, I’d be inclined to believe it’ll do reasonably well
Damn... I was looking forward to the Further Ado. Oh dear, though... just like the shoeless Paul McCartney on the album cover meant the ’real’ one was dead... I hope the hoodie editing isn’t conveying any bad news about young Jimmy. And Mark... please remember not everyone can afford to eat out at a Heston Blumenthal gaff (Worms & a Handful of mud..? That’ll be £350.00 to you, mate).
OK, obviously the comparison is RipX vs Rx8. I find that the Izotope software is very hit or miss, particularly if extracting vocals from pre 2000's tracks where the extracted content leaves gutters of artifacts that can be impossible to attenuate and the end result often sounds unmusical and less than usable. Not always, but often the case. Possibly the extraction of any stem from a live recording is the reason behind this but I could also be right off the mark in this assumption. So my question is, how does RipX better this or rival what Izotope have achieved? Seems to me that using extraordinary processes to achieve a result as both of these software's profess would require some type of AI artifacts removal/cleaning and compensation for element gains removed from a ST track. Anyone? 🤔
Yes, there are small amounts of artefacts audible on the extracted stems when idled, but by no means enough to make using the stems for a remix impossible. I was quite blown away at how good it sounded and how well it did it. Remember you can always try the free trial on tracks you know better than my demo on the video, to test it with your own system, there’s a 1-month trial!
@@PresentDayProduction I just activated the cheaper one, and I think it said I have 4 days to do full rips. Plenty of time to figure out if it's worth $69 USD.
@@PresentDayProduction I've downloaded the demo for the full version and will side by side the comparison. Selecting program material will be tricky, I'm thinking a sparcer arrangement will be more revealing. I'll comment here with my perspective and findings. I'm sure they're both fine for remixing with some added element(s) to provide cover. My interest is in quality of removing elements or isolating particularly vocals. Given the amount of stereo processing most vocals have it should be interesting to see how it pans out. An option to extract a mono image first would be beneficial to have access to, if that's possible, and then clean up the sides and remove the fx spread. Stay safe and well ✌️
It works great on any recording that matches it's vision of how a song is mixed. Try it on many tracks by Jeff Beck and it fails miserably. I tried it on several songs from Emotion & Commotion and it made no distinction between Jeff's guitar, the string section in the orchestra and a female voice. I suppose Jeff would see that as a win!
