The silly thing is this is not an irreconcilable problem provided there's a bit of goodwill and give and take. For instance, let top PGATOUR players such as Scottie and Rory play 2 or 3 LIV events as guests if they want to provided they still fulfil their PGATOUR commitments and let LIV players accept 2 or 3 sponsor invites to PGATOUR events each year. That doesn't solve underlying splits but it at least starts a bit of healing that's long overdue

@@johnkollias6782 So? You think I respect Monahan and the PGA for mismanaging the tour, fleecing their players and then doing a deal with PIF anyhow? The OWGR should be renamed the PGAOWGR since they are basically a subsidiary. Ditto for the Golf Channel. I respect the LIV players for exposing the monopoly for what it was.
The pga was a monopoly in us and is realizing that players and fans have something else. Im a golf fan but getting tired of chasing pga on tv golf channel peacock and then cbs. Liv go on line, cast it on tv and watch with less Comercial.
I don't know if something as drastic as LIV was needed, but something was needed to get the powers of golf to wake up and recognize that the issues could no longer be ignored. We don't really know all of the players who asked for changes or the specific changes that were requested because it was all kept quiet but it was obvious that some players were getting frustrated.
I agree with Phil, PGA is getting old and not keeping up with the times. PGA needs to get out of the states. Play more worldwide and televise the last round of the Masters tournament winner Jon Rahm, instead of not having coverage on Rahm’s round. Also, people are tired of the Politics, in Government and now in Golf.
PIF souds like kind of a scape goat for the PGA Tour for mocking the whole concept. However, PIF is present in professional football, and this year really loudly in ATP-tennis World Tour as well. Nadal made a M$400 deal for promoting the sport and ATP have had tour stop in the Middle-East for ages. If it’s good money for other professional sports, why would an American domestic non-profit golf authority care a sheite?
It was broken before, it really was a diluted product, the majors were of only interest and the big tour tourneys that tiger would enter, other than that, I never really cared if koepka battled against mcilroy for the Valspar, I love golf too, just too much shit on the go nowadays
Rory is on the transactional sub committee to sort out a deal with PIF. This is where the real power lies, that's why Tiger and Rory are there. The recommendations of this committee will be crucial to the future of the Tour. When you are in a war that you cannot win you have to reach an agreement favourable to both parties to end hostilities The sooner you do this the less damage done.
This is a boxing match, jabs back and forth, each league defending themselves. Individuals calling out players by name doesn’t help, those player aren’t going to picked on, so then they respond, and sometimes like children. This battle isn’t helping each league with the fans. All the money on both sides causes most of the issues.

How much money does the elite baseball players make, and the NFL, and NBA? European soccer, etc. Yes, pro sports is totally out of hand. When mediocre players can become multi-millionaires, there is a problem. LIV is run by Greg Norman, who has had a vendetta with the PGA for decades, one needs to recognize his desire to destroy the PGA. All the players who deserted the PGA tour and DP World tour knew exactly what would happen when they left, so there is no need to feel sorry for these ridiculously rich golfers. Perhaps there may one day be some sort of agreement , but I feel strongly if there is, there should be a large penalty before allowing any LIV players back into the tours they abandoned for their own greedy purposes. Bottom line, Not all the fans are sick and tired of the bickering. There are many fans that do want to see proper justice be applied to this appalling matter.
To me , there wasn't alot wrong with the pga tour , it had all the best players , the schedule was easy to follow, the players were making realistic money , and the pga was alowly adapting to the golf climate , so how has liv given us viewers a better product . And as fo Phil I think he just needed the money 😊.
I stopped watching the PGAT and only watch LIV. The difference is one is boring as watching paint dry, while the other is all action. All the best players in one place, paying each other week in week out, never actually happened on the PGAT outside of say a couple of tournaments. Only place it does happen is the majors and they are not far from fucking that up for themselves as well.
That's fine. You keep watching your liv exibition players playing for nothing but money and I'll keep watching players on pga playing for history , I'm not stupid I know liv is going to win in the long run, there's no way the pga can compete money wise. But until then .
Sorry for just giving my 45 years of high level golf opinion, you keep doing you , just remember when your out playing golf to make sure you play off the front tees so you don't hold real golfers up .
To the fans complaining: suck it up buttercup. Golf is working out some hard things at the minute, but the sport is getting better as a result. Norman and Phil have been at this longer than you boys been alive. The reason the euro tour can’t sell out to the pif and LIv is because they already sold out to the pga tour. In time just as the pga tour brings over the top euros dp tour players.. and those players can still go back…the same thing will happen with LIv and the pga tour. The pga tour will sell out to LIv as they already sold out to a bunch of team owners from other sports. Only this sell out will mean something because the top pga tour players will be allowed to move to the LIv world tour and those players will also be allowed to return to the pga tour. The key in all of this is the pga tour needs cut its required events number in half to 7-8 from 15. Btw great breakdown on the Rory part of this.
Guys If a deal is done and Liv continues with 14 tournaments and Liv players can play In Majors. I cannot see top Liv players, lucky to play more than 4 other PGA EVENTS!! Jason Day 24 tournaments in 2023 won $7miil Cam Smith played 23 Liv eventsxwob $34mill!!!! Liv top guys no interest I going back to 24+ events a year
I think the tour has a great opportunity with the world golf championships, they really could of messed around with the format and try new innovative stuff at these tourneys, the players were complaining the match play was getting harder to play cause of the amount if rounds, maybe shorten that field, pump up the money, find unique was to get the world's best head to head in match play, or change them to team formats, they had a good opportunity I think and they still do, there's just a bunch of ego in the way right nowv
All 3 feel.over intitled and are way into their own feelings. Fans are also tired of hearing them cry about money. They make plenty of mlions now to play a sport that many, many would love to be paid to do and to be as good. Get over yourselves and just play dam golf already before everyone stops watching. Views are at a all time low now for the PGA and LIV and still falling. People are tired of it.
We just dont really care anymore about viewing figures as soon as the pga sold out it became laughable , golf will go on no problem for golfers . How many have heard of henry cotton , earnest jones the bruen loop or walter hagen ? Jimmy demaret or gene sarazen ? Golf goes on as golf , crazy stupid scottish game , one against all . Thats why no ones watching , that and watching scottie is like so yaaawwn …
I am sick and tired of Brandel Chamblee, Phil Mickelson, Greg Norman, for me they have destroyed the fun of viewing golf. Brandel because of his big mouth and Greg and Phil as they are promoting LIV-golf that honestly...who really cares about the "LIV-teams" ? Anyone? And their 54 holes corporate shotgun golf? I have followed golf since 1976 and spent hours watching tournaments and tried to be enthusiastic for the FEDex cup (that I feel has not reached the format it should have since the beginning)...but now, I could't care less about who is playing on any tour PGA or LIV. Phil and Greg and the Saudi money destroyed a good game and the PGA are just so stubborn.
I hadn't watched much golf for a decade before LIV came around. PGAT was broken a long time ago. It was unwatchable for me. I didn't even know the other majors existed aside from Augusta. I've watched every LIV event and I love it. It's given me back the game I love. The first 2 days of any given PGAT are rarely aired on TV or anywhere else. The mornings of every single day are almost never aired. So some players you follow you'd never see. It lasts from very early in the morning until very late at night. If there are weather delays, it creates very unfair scenarios where people who finished early got a worse,or better, score than when play resumes depending if the weather is better or worse. With a shotgun start, it removes both those issues at once. The day lasts under 5 hours and weather stoppages are the same for everyone. Shotgun start also means there's nonstop golf to watch. And we didn't get to all the ads on PGAT. About the teams, no one forces you to follow it. It's for the people who follow several players for an extended period of time. So any complaint there is a non sequitur. You're free to not like LIV. But don't try to pretend it doesn't have a LOT of advantages over PGAT. A lot of people like what they're used to. That's you. You like the status quo. That's fine. I understand that. But the status quo wasn't working for a lot of people like me. And LIV is fantastic for those of us that found PGAT unwatchable.
I am sick and tired hearing that Golf is about America and America only. The reality is that right now the rest of the world outside of the USA is joyous as top level golf is touring the world thanks to LIV. The PGA tour is boring and watching 90% of events ending at 20 under par, free relief for every bad shot, pintless interviews and terrible coverage has had it's time. Well done to Greg Norman and all the LIV golfers who stood up for the sport and said the world needs to see these players not just Americans. Hopefully LIV golf is the future.
I don't think fans are talking about this bullshit anywhere near as much as the "golf media" is.
Exactly.
Agree , I have never seen a "Fan" interviewed by the media on what they think. By Fan the media means themselves and their employers.
100% true.. especially on the (PGA) PropaGandA channel, sorry.. Golf channel 😂
Lol I work in a pro shop and honestly wish they all were playing. I hate seeing drama in the game.
I agree 100% a lot of this is clickbait. There is definitely a huge issue in professional golf but the media is pushing this more than the average fan base
Phil has been saying what he is saying for years before LIV. He attempted himself to improve the tour from within, they pushed back over and over and never changed. So yeah, he exhausted all options till LIV came along and gave him the nuclear option.

Australia has greatly benefited. Just look at the crowds. PGA only has itself to blame. Thank you, Greg.
Brandel Chamblee is full of himself. I like the idea of DP World and LIV joining forces. The PGA should have taken the meeting with Norman.
“Chumblee” now seems to be an expert on sport in general after listening to him describing Federer, Biles on GC, what a loser.
Yes it had to be done. PGA leaders were not listening. Need to force the change
Obviously the pga tour would not change.
The tours aren't finding ways to work together, the MAJORS are finding ways to work with the current structure.
The fact that Rory just won 3.6 million for a no name tournament is ridiculous ,I'm sure he's not complaining
I’m glad LIV came along, the pga tour is stale.

People are tired of everybody always talking about money.
Golf was not broken. Liv is trying to tear it down.
😂😂😂😂
Guys If a deal is done and Liv continues with 14 tournaments and Liv players can play In Majors.
I cannot see top Liv players, lucky to play more than 4 other PGA EVENTS!!
Jason Day 24 tournaments in 2023 won $7miil Cam Smith played 23 Liv eventsxwob $34mill!!!!
Liv top guys no interest I going back to 24+ events a year
Phil tried for 20yrs...Norman tried for yrs pga is a monopoly players had no voice and still do not....
even college players have NIL
Hopefully the turbulence will be behind us in a couple years. Make pro golf (news) boring again
with out LIV brandel has no job
People are turned off by Liv. I’m fine with the PGA. The PGA creates stars. Liv creates nothing.
This had to happen iot see changes... golf would had not change for the better if it was not liv coming in the picture.....
Golf is golf. Making tons of money.
I'm sick of Liv and the players that went there
