I know no one reads these descriptions, so everyone please argue with me in the comments over why Clerk is not "One of the Worst" Hunters so this video gets more viewer interaction so that it will get recommended more often :)
In which tier would you place Clerk at the moment? Is it a fall all the way from S to B?
Probably B, maybe C? Her chase comes down to two problems: The first being the survivor must drop a pallet or vault something right as you start recording, and the second being once you have a recording they dont respond with an item or transitioning when you put block stuff. I mentioned the first problem much more thoroughly when I was explaining the full presence and why its so important, because any good survivor isnt gonna let you get an instant recording of their actions and always cause a delay, making them close to worthless
@@SikeyYT Yeah, I agree. Tbh I'm expecting a buff coming sometime soon, opting for a difficult hunter should be more rewarding or it just leads to frustration and players giving up on the character

honestly from her trailer and leaks, i thought she’ll be a good hunter, and probably one of the best the game has seen since dream witch. just going against her and seeing actual gameplay seems disappointing. there’s really nothing game changing about her, however i would like to see experienced hunters give her a chance and find a way to make it seem like she’s an okay hunter. overall good video!
But isn't stoping the surv to force open the exit gate with tide a game changing? or popping the last cipher?

@Serafine You make a good point with blocking gates with tide turner, ill give you that, but is it worth picking a hunter like this if that situation happens so rarely? The answer is no. As for popping ciphers, as I stated its very rare youll ever get a recording of survivors in the first place: Any good survivor will see the hunter watching them from above and get off before they can start recording (I didnt mention this in the video but the abilities say you must first hold to start recording a survivor, which takes too much time before they get off the cipher for you to get a recording in the first place)

She is S tier maybe A+ character. She can harass on cipher. Get tie or win on last rescue, she can abuse abnormal(but not just like dream witch) since she can record herself with abnormal and then use the abnormal again. Her chase is avarage, But she can force you to not drop pallets, or not drop them. Very strong, very underrated

I fully understand how clerk works now but still, her early game chase is so bad. I chair someone and there’s almost 2 ciphers left and I can’t use any recordings for chasing because I have to cipher control to the max at this point in the game. It feels like I’m playing hell ember most of the time lol

Yeah her chase isn't great but it's good for a hunter with like. Probably the best cipher pressure in the game. Just manage your recordings better.
this is a BIG tips for ppl like u still struggling in her chase : USE EXCITEMENT DUMMY. excite provide everything she doesn't has( no protection from stun) also with excite u don't even care a shjt about pallet.they stun u get the pallet record back use excite then the reverse pallet thye don' drop pallet mean free hit
I have to disagree with some of your points. If your primary usage for her is her attack clones, then you might as well invest in Sculptor and her statues. Her clones are useful for destroying pallets and for tricking survs. Her chase ability is average, but her ability to raise pallets while chasing is valuable.
Also, her greatest strength is her map pressure and the ability to use a survivors actions against them. Minds Eye’s cipher boost? They can easily be reversed. Mechanic’s slow vaulting speed? It will force a surv to go somewhere else. Also she gets better at late game where exit gates can be opened and all she’ll have to do is stand guard on one gate while being able to spy on another. Because this is a game where a Survivor has to do something to win, Clerk can use that something against them.
Is she good? Depends on how you use her. Is she for everyone? Obviously not. Her playstyle is very complex and requires meticulous usage. But she’ll only be bad if you use her in the way that she isn’t intended to be.
Another thing I must add is, so what if a surv can see that you see them? They’ll stop ciphering, which is 12 seconds of wasted time plus the first presence skill which is 10 seconds. They keep ciphering? You get a valuable recording. They stop ciphering? You bought yourself time to hunt down Survivors. It’s a win-win overall in this game because no matter who you’re playing as, time is your most valuable asset.
Thanks for defending clerk mains as myself. The only thing that’s strong it’s her hit range. So her hitting records is not your best move. Clerk is not for everyone.
I was thinking the same, when the survivors not decoding they're actually doing what every hunter players wants *not doing the objectives* .

Honestly it's sad that she's so weak I love her design especially her normal skin. She looks like a evil principal/judge the fact that netease nerfed her so hard because of 1 thing is ridiculous. They nerfed her because they didn't like her recording hit being spammed but netease hates hunters so instead of nerfing 1 thing just nerf every self recording right big brain netease good job
i suggest u to see some clerk gameplay this day,they really know how to utilize her skill at max potential
Also her attack recording skill is not so useless since i can use it for zoning like Feaster instead wasting my survi record to do that,yes shes really got countered by Transition kite but since they need to drop a pallet by doing that or atleast wasting their skill,clerk can counter pallet Transition by lift it up or drop it at their face(depent on situation but majority u use it by lift it up tho)
No, she’s still so broken in chase and especially in end game. Pallet lifting or ignoring, cipher counter, blockage of pallets, windows and etc plus forced cipher pop, exit gates blockage camp and else IS SO SCARY

The cipher counter only works if you can manage to record them before they get off, and since a survivor can see the purple circle it makes it obvious shes watching. For those of you who played clerk, you will know you must first hold the ability for about a second, and any self aware survivor will see that before hand and get off in time. Same applies for gates. Because of this, it also means you get no recordings for a forced cipher pop in the first place. The pallet lifting and dropping is very similar to how feasters tentacles work which is all about pallet blocking too, and we all know hes not great either

Kinda agree with you, her plays style kinda depend on the survivor’s behavior but when she meets a decoder team , she’s most likely gonna draw 😅
shes actually strong against decoder teams, cause like she can spect anu cipher and just find decoders easily

In terms of viability, no its not a big nerf. In terms of top tier, its a very big one. The pallet blocking is wayyyy too comparable to feaster, and we all know hes not strong either, not to mention at least he has chair camp

Right off the bat to buff she needs! 1 Aster button that can be toggled on and off. the buttons purpose it's so you don't have to keep clicking the reverse or forward button. if you're placing a recording on a generator it will automatically switch it to rewind. if you're recording yourself breaking a pallet, smashing a generator, and hitting a survivor it will automatically switch to forward. when you use it on a down pallet if it's a Survivor recording it will pick it up and when you use it on an upright pallet it will switch it so it put it down
and of course you can turn this button on or off if you want to do things manually or not.
please for the love of God it's so hard to get a hunter recording hit please don't make it do half damage.
big quality-of-life buff tapping the recording instead of deleting it, it should just place the recording on the nearest thing. if it's the Hunter vaulting just tap and it place it on the nearest window that's within line-of-sight.
and recording herself vaulting or breaking a pallet shouldn't have that one second delay
some changes that are more debatable
give her really big hit boxes when she's swinging this will make the chase easier and will make her recording swing ability better.
when she reaches 2 presents and cast recording of a survivor place that recording it should block the window
make it to win Survivor use their ability and they're being recorded those ability also get recorded. example the acrobat uses any of his bombs well the recording does that too except the Killer can walk fruit kabobs without a fact but when the Survivor does they get the same negative effects of the killer would, or anytime a survivor with a running ability that stuns the Killer if they hit them well now if that gets recorded they could use the recording to smash into the Survivor and stuns them for the same amount of time. this will work on prospector but only prospector or another Survivor that's magnetized. it will also work with the little girl, the painter but only if she record him placing it. and basically every Survivor that has an ability that applies a negative effect to the Hunter Canal be recorded and used against the survivors. but I understand that this would be a little too difficult to accomplish, developers need to sleep to

I agree they never nerf survivors this bad. The fact that they nerfed her this bad because they didn't want her to be another bon bon spamming her record hit. Why not just nerf the record hit and leave everything the same but no they go above and beyond and nerf everything
Yeah- I do think the nerf was too harsh, her recordings of survivors can be useful tho so yeah B tier hunter
Although I will point out one thing and that’s the fact that she is incredibly fast
Tip when you wanna break pallet eith clerk recording: Mid breakage Record yourself and immediately stop recording afterwards. And Always ALWAYS remember to use that recording when replay is forward.

I’ve always complained about this. She has good abilities, but her weakness is reaction times. You need to have precise aim and timing to get your recording to work which is already infuriating

Clerk is perfectly fine where she is. She is too much of a snowball character and if she is buffed at all she would be stupid broken. Her hit box is already an issue

You're severely underestimating her cipher and gate blocking lmao. 10 seconds is a lot for an ability that has a 5 second cooldown and before you say "you can just not decode" keep in mind recording is 12 seconds
Youre assuming the survivor is not paying attention for the purple circle. If they get off before you start recording, you get no value
@@SikeyYT that's exactly what I'm saying. You're guarteeing a 10 second cipher block. If they don't touch the cipher they don't decode for 12 seconds, if they do you're blocking it for 10.
@@SikeyYT I don't see how forcing a survivor to stand around not doing anything is not value for you. That's still effectively 12 seconds of cipher blocking.
And if they didn't get off the cipher in time then you can block it for ~22 seconds. You gain recordings faster than that, so theoretically you can delay a single cipher infinitely.
@@SikeyYT not only that, if you manage to fight against a minds eye or mechanic, you can get a stronger cipher reversal. Because recordings of survivors somehow habe no limitations.

Yes, its not clear but its there around the cipher. To start a recording, the clerk must hold down on the ability for a little less than a second. Anyone who is paying careful attention on the sides will see the ring and get off before she can start recording to block the cipher

She deserves to be stronger than this, if you record survivors then you leave too much up to the survivors to decide. For example if you start a recording and the survivors dont do anything for the first few seconds of the recording, its gonna be way too delayed to try to block a pallet or window accurately
