While it may not be technically perfect to be this expressive, Jonghyun really became the character. I've listened to other versions, they sound pretty but too formal to me. Only him sounds like showing his own story.
Growing up in eastern Europe i constantly heard ala pugacheva sing this song... it's so monumental. I've been a fan of shinee for over 10yrs, but only today did i found out that this song had a Korean cover. Never would've imagined that these worlds would collide :0
I listened to A Million Roses because of Lee Sun-Kyun. Only to find out that Jonghyun has sung this too. My heart is so broken. I hope they both found their star, I hope they both found peace.
Seeing this again in 2021 made me realize that we won't be able to see and hear many legit artists' real vocal power anymore. With all the fine tuning and vocal enhancer that makes a performance more perfect, it's quite sad that we dont get to see this kind of performance anymore. Just raw soulful performance without all that editing that music shows gives nowadays. Watching just this rehearsal and comparing it to the one broadcasted honestly makes no difference.

One of the best versions of this song....Was hoping to find Kim Seul-gi singing it after watching Oh My Ghost, sadly theres none...so watched and listened to Jonghyun...was pleasantly surprised then saddened after googling his short life story. Jonghyun left behind a great legacy with his beautiful singing. Hopefully I'll be able to teach my children to live and love as often as they can because life is too short :'(

Wow, I can't believe this performance was in 2011. I remember watching it, I hadn't been a fan of SHINee long (2010) but I already loved them and I was blown away by the amount of emotion Jonghyun was able to convey. I can't believe it's been almost a year already. Although in the past couple of years I didn't listen to SHINee as often as I did in the past, I'll still miss you, your smile and your voice so incredibly much.

Kat Bellator (sorry I know you wrote this post 7 months ago 😅) I first discovered this song on a Korean show that started broadcasting from the end of 2017 to the first few months of this year - it's called My Ahjussi and is about a unique friendship between a middle aged man and a woman in her twenties who find comfort in each other in the midst of life's struggles. The story kind of reminded me of the relationship between Jonghyun and his Blue Night listeners and so I started looking up the lyrics to all of the songs on the soundtrack and they all somehow remind me of Jonghyun and how he endured everything. I was so surprised to discover that he sang one of these songs!
This is originally a Latvian song that Russians changed the lyrics to an artist loving an actress. It completely lost the meaning, because the Latvian song was about life and hardships. Koreans though changed it again, and it became a song about life and love again, the lyrics meaningful once again. To it be sung by Jonghyun makes me so happy and sad at the same time, huge respect.
