2K is really testing the waters for how far they can go where fans still continue to buy the game. I'm not sure if removing the auction house will be a good or bad thing. However, the other changes they are implementing could be a real detriment.

They didn't say no auction house they said new player market. The player market is where you buy packs. I'm guessing the best cards will be available to buy straight up even though we all know they gone be 100k vc

Taking the auction house was 2k giving Mt buyers the middle finger, while making money from VC, a battlepass, and now purchaseble MT in a base game that cost $70 (thanks to 2k being the first to raise next gen prices). Take Two is favoring short term gain at the expense of their longtime player base

I'm not a fan of the futuristic courts/backgrounds in every game mode that isn’t unlimited. Things can look nice and be realistic
This is just like 2k14 when there was a player market and no auction house, in 2k14 everybody had a legit chance of getting every card besides those duds of locker codes so maybe it could work

When they say “level the playing field” what they really mean is close off their in-game economy to MT farmers/sellers and make the only ways to get MT to grind or buy it directly for 2K. Simple as that. The AH had become a drain on their in-game economy where outsiders could make a profit financially. Not anymore!

Eliminating the free market does nothing for the consumer. An auction house drives prices down not up. 2K wants the cost of cards to either stay consistent or get more expensive.
Not in this game it didn’t. A free market just meant everyone listed their cards at obscenely high prices and everyone just followed suit.

I’m convinced they’re trying to make the worst user experience game as possible to make a future game seem GREAT. Even though the future game will just implement previous features we never asked to be removed.
This is a W. No more 1 mil priced cards. Level 40 easier to obtain since you get xp every game. Still getting free packs from pre-order bonus. Limited and Unlimited are easier to get into. Salary Cap is something new that was reintroduced from some other 2k and we have crossplay with means faster matchmaking. At a glance, it’s a W for me especially as a NMS player.
You do realize that now those cards are going to be near impossible to get unless you spend $$$... That's the whole reason they are doing this
