I do love when Matt puts sound effects in his report. My favourite part of the last Brissy live show was when he played the entirety of Ripley's Believe It Or Not theme. Especially since someone in my row hated it.
I was in the TAB in Melbourne that day. When l arrived l noticed that the TAB was already twice as full as usual and this was a good three hours before the Fine Cotton race. It was absolutely packed by the time of the race. In the half hour leading up to the race there were regular updates over the radio that Fine Cotton was being backed - 15s, then 10s - l was considering backing it but it ended up being much too short at around 7-2. It seems that many people must've known about it, even as far as Melbourne because there was there was a very different vibe and atmosphere in the TAB that day. The Waterhouse's should've been Warned Off for life and jailed for ten years.
I was in the betting ring at Caulfield this day and as soon as the race was over anyone who backed Harbour Gold the second placed getter (Number 4) was already lining up to collect . They were offering 40 to 33 to 1 on Fine Cotton from memory and the way the horse was back in to 7 to 2 had the bookies whispering ring in. As for me I did my balles again that day😂
It was not the darkest or biggest scandal in racing history. It was a brave and, somewhat mischievous. The biggest scandal has been going on for years. Drugged up horses competing and winning. The so called testing regime is a joke. No bigger joke than fools who fork out millions for a foal by a ‘champion’ mare who only got there because of drugs. No champion mare has thrown anything near in form to their mother
It's funny that you guys call this a spin-off from the regular podcast when it's just a normal podcast episode minus the hour and a half of the intro and outro.

The word was definitely out and all the smarties stuck with the original favourite Harbour Gold who drifted to around 5 to 1
