I really love how they have been put together with a lot of different parts and they usually have a couple of moving parts. Good fun to take apart. Great toy design.
Nice Job👍I like the rivet trick and happy to see you didn’t put back the decal, it looks more like a classic hot rod without it..and the windshield also came out great.. your a great craftsman
I got one of these for my birthday back in the mid 70s and a year or two later got another on clearance and still have them today in original condition I must say you’re restoration looks great 👍🏻 with the white seat and with out that dorky sticker on the side too me the t always looked like a mushroom 🍄
Hi, interesting vehicle ! Never seen this one at my local toy store. He had only the models of yesteryear but too expensive fo me with my little pocket money. You've done an awesome restoration on that " oldtimer/hotrod!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Greetings and best wishes!
I am sure you know this but in case you don’t if you put baking soda on the headlights where the super glue is it makes an unbelievably strong bond. This model looks better than the original. Awesome job!
I have the fire chief version of that car which they has the broken windshield thank you for the tip for fixing it it works really well and again I like when you do the Super Kings there's not very many people out there doing them and you do an excellent job cheers
Try Alclad for your chrome, you spray on a smooth coat of gloss black paint first, and then the Alclad through an air brush. It's very close to chrome and a very smooth finish.
Where did you get the chrome paint from, and is it from a paint pen or paint pot? Great tip to remove the chrome from the plastic components. An excellent restoration, glad to see that you're restoring the long forgotten Superking models, I am doing up a Ford Capri Mk2 and am making a few of my own improvements (colour, Corgi wheels and interior change.
Hello Danny thank you for the information I will have a look on line. I changed the wheels on the Capri after trying to make more in proportion to the model, made them look rather to narrow, found some old Corgi Whizzwheels from my collection of spares, now looks far more realistic in gold with a black vinyl roof. Now to attack the damaged windscreen and modify the interior, the removal of the the non-functioning parcel shelf and putting a boot floor in. Look forward to more of your uploads.
Very good work. Not many restore Kingsize Matchbox. The model looks like a Ford T Bucket: the iconic Ford V8 badge is on the radiator shroud. The steering wheel looks a bit bland in all black. How would it look with a light brown rim, to represent wood, and chrome spokes? I have repainted one Kingsize: K17 Case bulldozer, which was in very poor condition: bent and beaten up. The new paint on the blade crazed, for some reason, so it will be strip off and do it again.
Yes I did consider painting the steering wheel. I also thought it would look cool to get a tiny piece of chain and use varnish or sumthing to set it in a wee circle then use that to make a chain steering wheel
Hey, I remember having the exact same car as a boy (and a red fire engine(?) car). It looked a bit better than this one. :) I might still have it somewhere.
The line in the windscreen is in the plastic window casting. Some clear styrene would make a nice window as well but as I had the window piece the right size I figured I'd use it.
Great Hot Rod resto Danny ...
Terrific job fixing the broken stuff and making it better than new !!
Another amazing job you’ve proven that you are the man.
I like how you are doing the larger scale cars nobody seems to be doing those one so it's good to see them getting the right treatment
I really love how they have been put together with a lot of different parts and they usually have a couple of moving parts. Good fun to take apart. Great toy design.
Nice movie, amazing restoration!

Nice job! I picked up one of these in really good condition complete with hood a few weeks ago from charity shop for £1.
Great job, 1st one I've ever seen of these hotrods, love it 😍😍
Great work; the headlights turned out beautifully as did the rest of the car.

Excellent awesome superb outstanding job on the model of that car.

High five on the putty rivet heads. That's the first time I've seen that on any of the resto channels. Nice work.

A very nice Restoration.....New subscriber from Florida USA.....
Looks pretty good
She is a beauty; the green and white go so well together, I ended up liking the wash effects in the end result. 🙂
New subscriber.
Excellent job, I have an original one from 1978 i believe. I like yours better. Very cool.
Had one of those when they first came out.

Very impressive result, that piece of junk turned to a diamond. And good idea with the fake rivets.
Yes
Winner winner with caustic soda
If you can get edge shaving gel in the UK, use it for removing chrome from plastic parts.
Nice work :)
i like the chassis detials, driveshaft etc
Te quedo bien chingona
Awesome

A Molotow chrome pen. The Capri is cool I am still looking for one but I have a few of the Speed King cars coming up 👍

Cool,it's missing it's 'ragtop' though.
Yeah never had the ragtop sadly. Long gone.

The car looks great! The boot cover might look good white?
Haha yes I very nearly painted it white!
Neat

I might still have it somewhere.
Show
I mean awsome.
The seats would look better in a cream/off white color...
Hi Danny! What kind of chrome colour do yo use? Thanks in advance. Greetings from Europe.
A Molotow Chrome Pen
@@DannysDiecastDisasters Thank you.
It has a great effect, i will buy one for my aircraft modelling
You did not show how you straightened the rear fenders.
True. I just used some pliers with tape wrapped around the end and gently bent it back out.
@@DannysDiecastDisasters Great job though. Especially on the windshield frame!
Did you steal Marty's opening and accent?
LOL!
Well certainly not his accent
BazF No its Australian. Danny’s is New Zealand
do i spot a crack in the windscreen?
The line in the windscreen is in the plastic window casting. Some clear styrene would make a nice window as well but as I had the window piece the right size I figured I'd use it.
I would have spray painted a lot of it for a better look
You didn't straighten the front mud guards.....
i have this but in a lot better condition, this ones quite the beater,
I think the engine block should have been painted red.
I got a parts car if ya need it
Danny, you are definitely NOT a newcomer at this...
Ewwwwwwwwwww
