Hell, they wouldn't have found the cancer if I didn't get shot. Ironic huh? No, not ironic that they found the cancer, ironic that I'll pass away in a bed and NOT the battlefield. Are you sure that they can't help you? I sincerely hope that they can. I am taking care of the love of my life who only 4 months ago looked totally different. After 3 months of hearing it was a benign tumour, got told 5 days before my father's funeral that it was that "C" word and that it would be a 14 hour operation with about 3 teams of surgeons (about 12 in all), talking a bone transplant from her hip and reconstructing her face. Life is not that same. In fact I'm not sure if you can call this a life that I wake up to everyday. God only knows what you two go through. She has just finished 6 weeks of radiotherapy and is in so much pain. I hope that they can find a way for you and that she gets the all clear. I saw this film last night and remembered how moving the soundtrack was, so for a moment I thought I would listen to it again. Then I found your comments below. It seems that everywhere I turn there's always something to remind me - even when it's only to hear a piece of music that lifts the heart and gives me hope. Has anybody had luck finding more music like this! This one song helps me focus my own personal meaning! Sometimes at the very moment things are happening. It is so touching to me that I just found out the very name of the song. “The Search”
My love had this film and the cd soundtrack. Then he moved country and lost them both. Hes been searching for over 4 years for them again. But websites dont want to deliver to his country. Poor baby. Carter Burwell is one of my favorite movie composers, behind John Williams, Danny Elfman, and Alan Menken. He even made Twilight bearable. The Twilight music he did was great.
It is after the court testimony and when Muriel kicks Charlie out and they both end up at the Plaza...also when she is on the staten Island ferry at dawn...one of my favorite movies of all time.
@gvark5, you're right, it's fantastic. Even though I like the pop songs, I wish they'd released an expanded score that had all the orchestral pieces from the movie.

If you're asking about "The Search" track... well, it's been a long time since I've seen the movie. But I'm fairly certain it takes place towards the end when they're enduring the whole lawsuit crisis. I remember specifically that the track accompanies a behind-the-back shot of Bridget Fonda, the camera slowly moving towards her as she overlooks the water.
@WastedPo Is it from the the starting credits?. The part where they go roller skate in the park and he ends up in the water?. They give the subway ride home for the city?. I think maybe also from the part where they are at the plaza. My loves favourite part is the moment when they lost it all from the bitch wife Perez and the reporter is homeless man. He gets the soup in the rain. And they just want to hold each other. Then he reports it in the paper and new york gives the tip. $640k.
This movie is hard to re-watch because Rosie Perez has an accent and her nasal twang is very annoying I can imagine everyone who dates her doesn't stay with her long.
I like Rose Perez, but I think she might've been miscast here, or was led astray by the director. I get she was meant to be a villain so you feel a sense of victory when Cage and Fonda hook up. But Perez was so over-the-top, it made me wonder why she and Cage even were an item in the first place.

A good movie, elevated even further by it's great score. I miss the early '90s.
