I’m not sure whether I should be concerned or have hope from that. I really hope our club doesn’t join this mess of a tournament, we are a proud historic club and I don’t want to see us join the European Shitty League
To all those footballers who play at the so called big six football clubs, grow a pair and come out and say what you are thinking about this ridiculous suggestion. This proposal won’t happen and footballers reputations will be tarnished forever if they don’t speak out.
Saying the clubs are losing money and can't pay their players salaries ! Well who decided those colossal numbers in the first place ? Players getting paid +30 million £ a year !!! Are you kidding me, you made your bed you lay in it
As much as I agree fans could stop this, the problem is they won’t. If everyone in the uk said they wouldn’t watch or pay for it, it’s merely a drop in the ocean compared to the money coming in from the global markets. The premier league began the business side of football, which had its merits let’s not all forget that, but the problem is once that ball began rolling it was never gonna stop. In business there is no such thing as “enough money” and the game will continue to get ripped apart and commercialised as long as there is a market for it. Football is not yet dead, but it’s on its last legs
The thing the so called big 6 don’t remember is they need the smaller clubs to develope the talent that people tune in to watch. Ban any transfer business with these teams and see how quickly the league falls flat
I can't wait to see what transfers will be like. These clubs got the top players already. We will be talking half a billion transfers very soon. Scary stuff

And how many more have had the opportunity to play in it?
These clubs have just seen the pound sign and don't care about anything else like the fans. It's shocking. It's like taking everything you love in your life and killing it. Shocking.

@ceejay1872 #55 The big 6 derive most of their income from TV rights and marketing so half empty stadiums won't concern them much. Perhaps banning them from domestic competitions and their players from representing their national teams maybe the answer.
UEFA keep half of the CL Finals tickets for them, and give the finalists the other half to share. Is this fair? come on, I understand why big clubs want to change something.
The problem you have with american owners is the mindset. In american sporting leagues, the league is controlled by the owners and the chairman/commisoner of the leaugue is essentially there employee. If Sky was getting exclusive coverage... they would have a different take on this 😏
wise simon knows about business side of football , opened my eyes about fifa & uefa taking big chunk and leave big clubs with small portions of share , while they spend big on players and expenses
Jordan is right in my opinion. Its a long term strategy to edge Fifa and Uefa out of the position of power. They want a better deal.
11 of the 12 clubs have accepted responsibility for the super league, but Liverpool say its not their fault
I’m not sure whether I should be concerned or have hope from that. I really hope our club doesn’t join this mess of a tournament, we are a proud historic club and I don’t want to see us join the European Shitty League
John Henry exactly
The premier leagues needed a salary cap years ago
To all those footballers who play at the so called big six football clubs, grow a pair and come out and say what you are thinking about this ridiculous suggestion. This proposal won’t happen and footballers reputations will be tarnished forever if they don’t speak out.
Saying the clubs are losing money and can't pay their players salaries ! Well who decided those colossal numbers in the first place ? Players getting paid +30 million £ a year !!! Are you kidding me, you made your bed you lay in it
Simon having called it absolutely bang on... let's face it, it was never going to fly.
That's why Everton is the people's club...
MIDDLE FINGER TO FANS. THESE OWNERS DON'T NEED THEM AT STADIUMS ANYMORE.
bring it on! Now Leicester can win the prem again!!
Yh which is now like winning the championship. Amazing
These "pig 6" are actually dictating and not the pl, fa, uefa or fifa and not the other way around...no wonder them 6 went ahead with this
Would help if the clubs released a statement to the fans why they have accepted this deal would help
I can't wait to see what transfers will be like. These clubs got the top players already. We will be talking half a billion transfers very soon. Scary stuff

How are Tottenham and Arsenal a European Super Club when they have zero European pedigree
Not true, arsenal fairs cup winners 1970, cup winners cup 1994, also the gunners were the first london club to get to champions league final.

Same thing happened in 1992 when all the big clubs left to form the PL. Disgraceful, the game has never been the same since.
It wasn't the same thing though was it? Yes 22 teams signed up to big TV deals and more money, no one can deny that. But there has always been jeopardy, the super league had no Relegation or promotions. Look at those 22 clubs in 1992, how many of those are still in the Premier league? And how many more have had the opportunity to play in it?

@ceejay1872 #55 The big 6 derive most of their income from TV rights and marketing so half empty stadiums won't concern them much.
Perhaps banning them from domestic competitions and their players from representing their national teams maybe the answer.
UEFA keep half of the CL Finals tickets for them, and give the finalists the other half to share. Is this fair? come on, I understand why big clubs want to change something.
The problem you have with american owners is the mindset. In american sporting leagues, the league is controlled by the owners and the chairman/commisoner of the leaugue is essentially there employee. They want to have the same model in football... hence the ESL. They will never be able to get that kind of control with the current arrangement

The irony seems to be lost on Sky Sports. Greed pure Greed how could they....
Simon Jordan is right FIFA and UEFA are mad while they are already considered one of the most curropt organizations
FIFA, UEFA, the FA, PL, all these organisations have bent over for the likes of United and Liverpool, as well as other so called “elite clubs” in Europe, for years and years. The current format is bent, never mind this new one. I’ve been a season ticket holder at City since the 1990s and never have been so disillusioned with the game. The sad thing is when UEFA and the cartel of elite clubs tried to illegally throw us out of the competition, I thought we would retain the moral high ground, now we’ve jumped into bed with the same clubs that have ruined football for everyone.
I'm a lifelong Man Utd fan & simply disgusted by this. They should NOT do this & remove any possibility of it in the future.
Maybe Sky might start sharing the TV money between the UK leagues a bit more fairly since the English league has been massively devalued
The six clubs should all be thrown out of the league and given a transfer ban for the next five years.
Disgusting, money grabbing excuses for football clubs they are. Their fans must be devastated.
absolute farcical idea, hopefully the premier league , uefa and fifa stand strong, ban them from playing in domestic leagues, all domestic cups and stop any player from playing for their national sides, the idea will die in seconds as players will not want it then,
You think this is anything to do with the players?.. 😂
@@IamBerbatov i probably worded that wrong, no its nothing to do with the players your correct, but would a player want to play for a club involved, if they knew the ramifications??, i dont think they would and could see mass transfer requests to clubs not involved!!
@@colinbates1795 that’s my point though. I don’t think any player will want to be involved regardless of any possible punishments. The probably have as much say as the fans. Can’t see it happening at all
i initially thought when they said breakaway they where talking about breaking away from their respective leagues also. This seems totally different from the past as the clubs themselves have released statements and seem to know the financial implications and factored everything in, so why would they be bluffing?

Oh, but Florentino Perez said that 4 billion would have watched it! _ _ _ Only, 4 billion happens to be more than half the population of the entire Earth! Only a delusional fool would think that anywhere close to that sort of number will ever watch football in total, never mind that just a fraction of the real total of football fans would have watched the European Shite League, or whatever it was going to be called! Loads of fans of included clubs were threatening to boycott it, virtually no fans of excluded clubs would have watched it and many neutrals would have soon tired of the dull, repetitive nature of it! Also, many of the sad, plastic, glory hunters, who have latched onto most of the ESL clubs (sometimes to the displeasure of their long term fans!), would have drifted off to pastures new, as their chosen club's supply of silverware dried up!
