      Ronja Svensson yes agree! I almost feel physically sick when I see a UA-camr upload Haul after Haul after Haul and them kinda trying to justify it as well (as in "it's a staple", "I need sth for my next holiday" etc etc) I wish more would be reflective and forward thinking...

I’m happy to hear that you’re interested in sustainable fashion. Buying second hand clothes is also considered sustainable. You don't have to stop buying things. Just buy vintage clothes or clothes on sites like depop where people sell their clothes that they no longer want. There are some amazing finds! It's what helped me so so much in the journey of producing less waste because the items have already been created and you recycle them rather then putting more clothes in the cycle. Hope that helped xxx

    Such a great video and so happy that you're going in this direction now! :) I guess, the amount of clotes and stuff you have is because you work in fasion and fashion has its own rules, always had and those aren't necessarily good rules. Like having a new item for each show, occasion and event for example. It's always been like this, showing up in the same item is considered "faux pas". I'd love to see it change some day, when celebrities and other public figures would celebrate their favoruite clothing, adapting it to the occasion and styling their staple pieces with something new :)

    • @mann7298
      @mann7298 5 років тому +2

      often when celebrities attend events with a certain brand, the dress or outfit is only borrowed for the event, and they will return it afterwards. not sure what the brand does to the dress afterwards but its not the worst thing when they are only borrowing the item and not taking it to their own wardrobe to never use it again :)

    • @idreessaleem4722

    I am SO happy you are talking about this! After working in retail for years now, i have always wondered how no one of you "beauty gurus" talk about this.. because you (not you specifically that much) make hauls and all of this, inspiring even more buying of clothes. So happy you are spreading the word because it's such a problem also with materials such as polyester, which is made from plastic and will never actually disappear.

    love your attitude about this!!! i recently started living a (sorta) zero waste life style and ive already learned so much. we are all shifting and improving everyday--nobody expects you to be perfect or get it all right the first time around. you've already made the decision to be more conscious. that's more than most people! so kudos to you for making the effort! i bought a pack of stainless steel straws for work after eliminating them from my life entirely. Now all of the girls at work use those straws while in the office--they used to use about 3 straws a day each! so maybe i saved a sea turtle or two. it feels good and you aren't pushing your ways onto other people, its just educating them about other options!!!!

    It's wonderful that you are moving towards more sustainable and eco-friendly living in general. Don't worry, it can be very daunting at first but taking one thing at a time helps. I loved how you talked about that we should have a connection to our clothes and only be buying when we really need to. I only buy clothes when I know that I need to, and even then I need to find the perfect version or make it myself. The one thing I would've wished to see in this video is you telling what you are going to do with the clothes that will no longer be in your wardrobe. As in throwaway culture, many might think that you are just throwing them away, which is not very sustainable, instead of possibly recycling them, taking to charity, giving to friends or selling forward. :)

    A few things; your wardrobe is glorious (the storage!), I’m happy your joining the movement of sustainability even if it is slowly, being aware is a big step in the right direction, AND it’s always refreshing when you film in a T-shirt :)

    Every step matters. Every little action matters. Every time a nice message gets to as many people as possible matters. The small changes bring the big ones!!

    I wish you could love videos because that's what I would do to this video. I've always been a casual youtube watcher but I kind of took a step back for a while because it was hard for me to watch the consumption habits of a lot of youtubers and then I found the community of sustainable bloggers and youtubers and it's amazing. But I always was hoping that someone with a large following (such as yourself) would talk about this kind of stuff because a lot of those sustainable youtubers don't have huge followings, and they're often preaching to the choir. Thank you so much for posting this video I am so so proud of you! I am an environmental studies major at university and I just want to say that what you're doing is amazing, everything in moderation, no one can do everything all at once. You are doing amazing things and I'm so so so happy about this video. I can't explain my gratitude for you creating this video and sharing this message with your followers it means so much to me and to the planet.
    (A collaboration on a topic like this would be amazing-something about sustainability for beginners or how to make simple changes or even discussions about the impacts of things that people might not realize, or a sustainable clothing line business owner!!)
