I was fortunate to meet Hawking at uni for a special luncheon to toast his success. Fascinating man.
The robot shit is scary but the population thing is possible to deal with. India has made an entire city that creates no waste as an experiment. If that could be instilled throughout our world then that's one step. Also with the food thing, the biggest problem we have with food in developed nations is overproduction and throwing away perfectly good food. Also the population is very likely to level out as the world developes considering that it's already happening in nations that are developed. Less farm and factory work means less need for kids. Also more development means more birth control things. The only thing that's really concerning is the water situation.
