I saw the “Jimmy” episode of Static Shock years ago, and it was so deep. The show and the comics always tackle hard issues like racism and bullying. Jimmy was angry for being bullied and wanted to take matters into his own hands. But, he would be in the wrong because he would have taken a life. Ritchie is right. “You’re all upset about this now. But next week, it won’t even matter.” He meant if Jimmy went through it, he would have regretted it and would have been charged for murder. They don’t make shows like these anymore🤍

I can kind of relate to Jimmy. I was bullied a lot in school to. There were times that i wanted to teach my bullies a lesson, but I just had a lot of emotional support to help me get through it all. This episode hurt to watch knowing that I felt the same as Jimmy once.

Plus some of the things he described happened to me too. My bully broke my kindle, he called me names, he would intentionally take my backpack open it and throw it down a flight of stairs and then one time he shoved my head into my locker in gym class for a cheap laugh. Accept when he did it, my head got stuck. I was stuck in the locker for 3 hours before my gym teacher found me and called the principal. Then the principal had to call maintenance to bring a tool to help free my head from the locker. Then the next day, I found out my bully got in trouble and was going to be expelled. That made my day, but then my bully pulled a knife on me and threatened me for ruining his life. Luckily the principal was there. That day he was expelled and then taken to jail for bringing a weapon to school and threatening someone with a mental disability.

He was twice my size and one time he did something very unethical and he thought I would let it slide like always. when I saw the teacher around I took advantage of the situation and decided to punch him in the face multiple times. He wasn't able to process that I will go violent. Thankfully the students separated before the situation escalated and the teacher was on my side because I was his best student. This episode had a profound affect on me when I was young. I live in Ireland and civilians don't get guns unless they live in the country and even then they're only aloud shotguns and rifles. I started doing what Virgil did at the end when I seen people being bullied. I remember when I was coming to the end of school this guy kept talking about a classmate with his friends about him being gay, which the other guy was I didn't like it me and my girlfriend at the time hung out with the gay guy. I didn't like hearing them talk about him that way so I turned around one day when the other guy was making fun off him with his friends in front of the girls and I said "What's your problem with him being gay ?"
"He's just fucking gay" he said.
So this guy was really into his appearance wearing stylish clothes all the time so I said "You know I think your gay" everyone went really quiet "I mean you wear all your designer labels and have your hair perfect every time you come to school. Also it the way you go on about Liam being gay it seems your trying to hide something, or over compensate. You know what they say no one hates out gay people more than a closet gay person" he cursed and turned around to his computer his friends all backed off and the girls started giggling. I'm glad I did that more than once and it's all thanks to this cartoon".

This has got to be the darkest episodes of Static Shock. After seeing Jimmy getting bullied by Nick, Kevin and Ray, Nick had realized he and his pals pushed Jimmy too far until he cannot take it anymore, resulting him to pull out his daddy's gun out and attempted to shoot Nick for that. Tears of rage had poured down from his face before Richie gave him a speech that will stop him from shooting Nick, only for Kevin and Ray to tackle him. And the last result was Richie getting shot right in the knee in an accident by Jimmy, therefore he had to go to the hospital for his knee getting extra hurt from the father of Jimmy's gun. Utterly sad to watch Jimmy getting bullied and hear what Jimmy said to Nick after he had been pushed to far, especially when Rich got shot right in his knee by poor little Jimmy. 😢

Virgil was pretty lucky that he shouldn't have stopped nick and his friends for messing with Jimmy as static himself and reporting Nick's behavior to the proper authorities like his dad a social worker and owns a community center along with the principal at school the situation couldn't have been more worse than before.

If you want to stop bullying someone or kids be bullying just ignore them they will leave you alone or the bullies will disappear.

It's funny when I see Law and Order types say bullying is a good thing that helps toughen people up. They also say it helps prepare you for the real world. I then ask them what they would do if they were assaulted in the street and they say fight back and call the Police. They don't like being told that being assaulted is actually a good thing in that situation. They never learn. How can you be a Law and Order type and not support calling an authority figure such as a Teacher when a bullying crime like assault and harassment is taking place. Zero Consistency.

That was such a bad parent move for Jimmy’s dad. Kids and teens shouldn’t be aware or informed of any firearms in a household, and they definitely shouldn’t have easy access to a firearm is there is one in the house.

It was locked up and he didn’t know his son had stolen his key. He was a responsible gun owner, but he clearly wasn’t an attentive enough parent to have educated his son on gun safety and known that his son needed psychiatric care. Also the gun should have been stored unloaded and with the ammunition locked up separately.
