Omg! I was Christian, but gave it up as a child. As I got older, I developed great disdain for religion and especially for Christianity. I had my awakening and now I talk with my guardian angel. I was on a bender trying to reconcile belief, faith, religion, and truth. I asked my angel if he is a Christian. He said yes and I was irritated, lol. Thank u! For such embracing and respectful way of honouring the truth in all religions. I feel the same way. You have expressed this in such a simple and beautiful way that I found my self brought into tears.
There's such calmness and peace in Eckhart, when he presents his knowingness and shares his presence. While listening to his explanation of what faith and belief represent, I noticed how the light on stage shines through his ears, making them light up, which makes me smile.
He does not want to see Life of Brian? The movie has a great nihilistic view of Christianity. How we build meaning out of nothing, just like religion. I think I'm glad I saw this, reminds me that even Eckhart has an ego, a christian-leaning ego. It's not a bad thing, just an observation which motivates me to stop seeing him as the all knowing, and start looking for a truth beyond his form. Thank you Eckhart. I always have and I always will cherish your videos. Love

Definiere mich nicht mehr über mein... sondern lasse los das irdische mein... Die Gedanken liegen still... Atme Tief in Frieden ein... und beginne zu sein...
Nice talk Eckhart, religion to me is of man, and many faiths have a person to look up to, the essence of what people should aspire to be like is in the essence of Jesus, humble and caring, faith and belief in all its forms helps us get thru the day, faith that the green light means go, and belief that the red light will mean stop.
Thank you, Jesus talked with his father about allowing people to see his glory in the after life. Eckhardt you have deep understanding and knowledge and the spirit allows us to be. We are one in the spirit. Eckhardt, have you seen the glory of Jesus Christ? Jesus is asking God to allow us all to see his glory.
Monty Python's Life of Brian was a parody of the human need to follow a person and put them on a pedestal. It's got a brilliant scene whereby the central character who is an ordinary man draws a crowd of followers to worship him when pretending to be a prophet to avoid capture by the Romans, he starts speaking random nonsense and is greeted with ridicule by the crowd but when he notices the Roman guards searching for him have gone he stops mid sentence and walks off at which the crowd stsrt to take him seriously suddenly thinking in that silence something profound was about to be said. The crowd then demand he tells them what was about to be said and the more he dismisses them, his mission of escape from the Romans achieved, the more significance they gave him and the silence contained in the sentence and follow him everywhere, even forming a hierarchy among themselves of who is his most important and devout follower. The more Brian tries to detach himself from this growing pursuing crowd, the more meaning and significant his apparent refusal to finish the sentence appears to the crowd. Life of Brian exposes brilliantly the human mind's need for a belief and something it considers greater than its' mundane everyday perception, it should be watched by those caught in the human condition's oldest neurosis which is superstition and its' more sophisticated descendant belief, both rooted in fear of the unknown. Being exposed to your essential neurosis and the mind's capacity to avoid its' innate fear is not sacrilegious and if this is done skilfully through the medium we call comedy does not make it profane. There's a difference between mockery which is the deliberate desire to cause offence and torment to a subjective entity and that observation of the human condition which can be an objective revelation of a fact if the watcher suspends their neurotic associations with the object and gives attention to what is being revealed through the observation, this can be comedic but the best comedy goes beyond comedy into revelation of something then the laughter can stop.
@@kentyiluminada7676 Did you see the film? Both Jesus & Brian were in it but we heard only the voice of Jesus (in the Sermon on the Mount scene). Brian wasn't meant to be taken as Jesus, the story was about Brian & his followers. I'm sorry if you were offended.
I can't believe Eckhart has never seen Life of Brian , its an absolute classic. It was more about throwing the wooden Buddah on the fire and a laugh at religion , not the ridicule of Spirituality and the message of Jesus.
Please tell Eckhart that "Brian" was not a parody of Jesus. It showed how gullible and desperate people are to find a leader. Kind of what Tolle often refers to with ego driven religions. You can hear the "the sermon on the mount" in the movie. But then how people twist the words and meanings.
Several years ago I sent a mail to Eckhart where I suggested the Datre transcripts, in case that was of any interest. In those transcripts Datre several times uses the expression "throw out the baby with the bathwater", in different transcripts and contexts. Also, the headbanner on Eckharts youtube channel says "The world can only change from within." That sounds like something Datre would say, they would say something like "the change comes from the inside, not the outside". Then of course these expressions could come from someone else, but I thought it was interesting to come across them again.
I made a creative alteration to the funny expression of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Don't throw God out with the gobbledegook. Or my preferred one is "Don't throw the soul out with the superstition. That's my critique of dogmatic science, and materialist proponents seem to refuse to distinguish between spiritual data (anomalous of mysterious data) and fictional narratives.
I have never been to Paris France and they say they have this great big tower in the middle of town. I have never seen it so I have to believe it by faith.
Kevin King I think if you consider two hypothesises, one being that there is a real Eiffel Tower and the other that there is actually a huge conspiracy to mislead people into believing the first hypothesis, surely one is inherently more likely. I think while technically one could argue your comment is true there’s a difference surely in the kind of faith that argues there’s a big metal tower in Paris to that which argues there’s an immortal being somewhere who created everything, such a being has properties no ones ever encountered in real life (arguably).
the nice thing about his ridiculous Life of Brian comment is that he shows that he is not perfect either, he has irrational fears and beliefs and attachments to ' mental' constructs like the rest of us
According to Hebrews 11 v 1 "Faith is the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen" Some may say that they believe in Evolution because they say it is based on science, whereas belief in God is based on faith. Many hold this view. However, it is good to keep, in mind, no matter what someone believes, some type of faith is involved. How so? None of us have seen God, or observed something being created (John 1 v 18) And no human, whether he is a scientist or not - has observed one kind of life evolve into another kind. For example, no one has watched a reptile evolve into a mammal (Job 38 v 1 and 4) Hence, all of us must examine the evidence and use our thinking ability to reach a sound conclusion. Regarding creation, the apostle Paul wrote under divine inspiration "God's invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his (God's) eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable" (Romans 1 v 20)

I think the Monty Python sketch was "jesus christ superstar, can't even ride on a motorbike...". It was very insulting to me as a Christian at the time. I love the notion of faith...like we have that most tables will hold when we stand on them
what a bizarre attachment or fear of watching a satirical film, it is a hilarious parody, the 3 wise men show up at the wrong place and folks think he's the one, Jesus himself would have appreciated the humour in that.
Tolle says..."the essence of who you are is connected to the source of all creation” that sounds like a “belief” to me. so Tolle is not sure it exists? I agree with most of what Tolle shares. Belief and faith (signposts) require evidence. maybe not visible evidence, but it must be based on more than just thought. So I feed my faith, and it gets stronger. I feed it not just with words in a book, but actual experience as I walk with the source of what he calls Creation.
"Jewish rabbis who did not like Jesus or his followers accused him of being a magician and leading people astray, but they never said He didn’t exist.” Shortly before Tacitus penned his account of Jesus, Roman governor Pliny the Younger wrote to Emperor Trajan that early Christians would “sing hymns to Christ as to a god.” Some scholars also believe Roman historian Suetonius references Jesus in noting that Emperor Claudius had expelled Jews from Rome who “were making constant disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus.” Ehrman says this collection of snippets from non-Christian sources may not impart much information about the life of Jesus, “but it is useful for realizing that Jesus was known by historians who had reason to look into the matter. No one thought he was made up.” Within a few decades of His lifetime, Jesus was mentioned by Jewish and Roman historians. - History Channel
It was absolutely a mockery of Jesus Christ and intentionally disrespectful to Him, but even more so to His followers. Yes I have seen it. It is funny at parts, but also painful. He has a right to choose what he wants to injest into his consciousness, as do we all.
Isn’t Jesus a figure also that we worship ? I prefer to emulate Jesus’s higher values/teachings & worship no one - I have faith that Jesus was with us & did have high Conscious Awareness Thankyou Eckhardt 🙏
Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to the father... "I AM the way the truth and the life" repent of your sins pick up your cross and follow Jesus and you shall gain the christ.... "Let *NO MAN* decieve you by *ANY* means" ... we walk by faith and not by sight... amen to all those that have yet to see yet believe... blessings to all the TRUE believers in Christ Jesus
Robert Mitchell If you were born into a Muslim family and given a Muslim education, would you be now a Jesus believer? What you hold now isn’t the absolute truth (no such thing), but mere tradition.
"Let NO MAN deceive you by ANY means", ....................................said a man. The only way to find God is through inquiry not by reading books. They were written by individuals who could be twisting the truth to brainwash the masses.
It was my personal (life changing) experience of awakening that I didn't know how to put into words. I'm not a follower nor have I ever been. I love Eckharts teachings because it's all I resonate with, it's the KNOWING. I appreciate your good intended advice though. 🙏
He sais there is proof against the historicity of Jesus, but it doesn’t matter, because Jesus exists in the collective human consciousness. So Jesus is just like Harry Potter?
Mr. Tolle doesn't hesitate to share the fact of books being written affirming Jesus didn't exist. How many of those writers retracted their affirmations and regreted such "contribution" denying Jesus existence'? MANY OF THEM...! If Mr. Tolle is going to say anything about Jesus, please say and include the same level of comments having to do with "scholar" affirmations written at the same level denying the existence and validity of teachings of ALL religious leaders/teachers, seekers after truth, plus... = Jesus proclaimed Himself to be a God and the Son of God (John 3:16-18)

Boring ! the "art" of Budhism is feeling nothing and becoming nothing , in other words and as the French philosopher Montaigne said :"Try to domesticate our own death" while the "art" of Christianity is all the opposite : Feeling everything and thru our conscience overcoming death and becoming sons of God . The first Philosophy is Static while the second is Dynamic ! In Budhism death is everything while in Christianity it is nothing . The death of the ego means also the death of Empathy because how can you feel something for the others if you just cannot feel something for yourself ? "Love your neighbor as yourself" can only exist if you have an Ego not if your Ego is dead and buried . Love doesn"t exist without the Ego . This Universe being all about Dynamic I choose Christianity which makes a lot of more sense ! It is not a question of faith or(and) beliefs but of observation . The heavens declare the glory of a living God (from the invisible to the eyes to the huge celestial bodies of the universe. B.Pascal) Eckhart glorifies DEATH (The Roman and Pagan "Carpe Diem") while Christianity preaches LIFE and life abundantly ! Nothing in common . Moreover Eckart "Philosophy" is selfcontradictory which is the mark of Charlatanism not of a great mind , but anyway "Do what thou wilt" is the whole of the law according Sir A.Crowley , so go ahead and ................... be deceived !
Think about it.If there is no ego, you will love others as you love yourself. Because we are the one, No boundary, no discrimination, no you and no me.
LOL. Eckhart Tolle is the living example of what he propounds. He is one of the most peaceful and joyous beings on this planet and anyone with the minimum common sense can benefit immensely from his teachings. Religions in general have failed to provide the joy and peace humans have been naturally hankering for. Open your eyes and look into the experiences of people who truly benefitted from his teachings.
Tolle says that "when you believe that something is the case it implies that you don't know." This isn't exactly critical enough to be taken seriously. Actually, it is the case that in regards to the keyboard right in front of me on my desk which I am using to type this very UA-cam comment that I do believe it exists. Further, I believe that I can rationally say that I know it exists. Consider for a minute whether knowledge requires certainty, though. Are you more certain that you know the keyboard to exist or that you know that you believe it to exist. In my experience (and I am willing to bet in yours as well), I see that I am more certain of the latter, i.e., that I know that I believe that the keyboard exists. This belief seems totally certain when you look at it. There seems to be no possible way that my knowledge of my belief that the keyboard exists is actually some sort of illusion. It is immediately clear that I know that I believe in its existence, for if it was false that I knew that I believed in the keyboard's existence, it would mean that it was true that I believed in its nonexistence, something that would flat-out contradict a clear inner fact of my consciousness, viz., that I do in fact believe that the keyboard exists. What I once believed to be true cannot be changed. In other words, I cannot suddenly change the past and make it so that I did not in fact believe that keyboard existed when in fact I di believe so. Plus, there is no one in the world who has a more privileged position to judge of matters concerning these inner facts of consciousness (like beliefs) than yourself. In a word, you cannot have a belief about anything unless you can have the knowledge that you believe in whatever it may be. And so, Tolle is wrong in what he says, i.e., that "when you believe that something is the case it implies that you don't know." Knowledge that you believe in the existence of your keyboard is more certain than your supposed knowledge that the keyboard exists. Tolle appears unwilling to suggest that he does not know that those flowers on his table exist. He seems to think that if he were to say that he believes they exist that he is saying that he does not know. But the fact that the knowledge that one believes in the existence of x is more certain than the knowledge that x exists shows that we should only treat of the flowers as being believed and therefore not known in a stricter sense. It actually is not certain that those flowers exist whereas his knowledge is certain that he knows he believes they exist. All this isn't to suggest, though, that our certainty the our keyboard exists which we use to type is really weak because in fact it is really quite strong. It is the case though that our knowledge that we believe that the keyboard exists is more strongly certain. In fact, there might not be any more certain knowledge than that knowledge you have that you believe in x, y, z.
The problem is not with the Bible, the problem is with people not understanding how to read and understand the Bible. Christians believe in Jesus Christ not necessarily the Bible. The Bible was written in a different time, people take it so literally and misunderstand the entire point. I should have known Tolle would have a beautiful response. What a beautiful soul inside and out.

I don't think you would regret watching the life of brian...
Monty Python's Life of Brian was a parody of the human need to follow a person and put them on a pedestal.

The Life of Brian? Yes, it's a parody and it's hillarious, but at the same time I don't feel it as disrespectful.

Does Muhammad also exist in the collective human consciousness?
Yes, we are all one.
I am new here ... But your comment kept me listening to the video ... Your question was about my beloved prophet Muhammad peace be upon him
Sure
From my research he didn't exist. Created by Jews. And qu ran also says "sons of Israel" why?
Forgive them father, they know nowt ,what they're doing, said Jesus the Christ.
Reminds me of Yoda

Yes, his comment about the film surprised me also.
It was absolutely a mockery of Jesus Christ and intentionally disrespectful to Him, but even more so to His followers. Yes I have seen it. It is funny at parts, but also painful. He has a right to choose what he wants to injest into his consciousness, as do we all.
if you think this you missed the point of the movie, it was hilarious, you should not watch it if you don't have a sense of humour
Wasn't it about Brian not Jesus? As Brian's mother says in the film "he isn't The Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!"
my volume will not work on UA-cam feeds now; can anyone help me?
💯❤️💯
@Robert Mitchel, dig deeper, words are pointers, a poor translation. The language of God is silence.
Robert Mitchell
If you were born into a Muslim family and given a Muslim education, would you be now a Jesus believer? What you hold now isn’t the absolute truth (no such thing), but mere tradition.
"Let NO MAN deceive you by ANY means", ....................................said a man. The only way to find God is through inquiry not by reading books. They were written by individuals who could be twisting the truth to brainwash the masses.
I could never watch the 'Life of Brian' either.
I always say that "New Earth" is my bible!
😱
A PLAN Let NO MAN decieve you by ANY means!
It was my personal (life changing) experience of awakening that I didn't know how to put into words. I'm not a follower nor have I ever been. I love Eckharts teachings because it's all I resonate with, it's the KNOWING. I appreciate your good intended advice though. 🙏
A bible of Demons
Lieber Eckhart, ich glaube 'Faith' heißt im deutschen Schicksal oder?
no, that is FATE. And Eckhart's real name is Ulrich. All the best
He sais there is proof against the historicity of Jesus, but it doesn’t matter, because Jesus exists in the collective human consciousness. So Jesus is just like Harry Potter?
There is a book .."What Jesus really said". Mitchell? No miracles. What Tolle says of real meanings.
What do you think about tha Baha´i faith ?

'When you know that the essence of who you are is linked to the source of all creation...' Eckhart is reaching as far here as any religious dogma.
13:15
How old is Eckhart?
Eckhart are you afraid of death losing touch with your consciousness and ego??
Also Eckhart how do you find motivation to do anything after your lose touch with ego?
What?
Espanish please
there is no gawd
Kur an.
That was weird at the end, right?
Hasan Sharif “...he’s a very naughty boy!”
No, not at all.
what was
Yeah, a bit. I like weird. Another thing to let go of 🤣
I guess thats why one must be careful when talking about deities they don't belief in. People hold them in reverence
Boring ! the "art" of Budhism is feeling nothing and becoming nothing , in other words and as the French philosopher Montaigne said :"Try to domesticate our own death" while the "art" of Christianity is all the opposite : Feeling everything and thru our conscience overcoming death and becoming sons of God .
B.Pascal)
Eckhart glorifies DEATH (The Roman and Pagan "Carpe Diem") while Christianity preaches LIFE and life abundantly !
