  • Arkadiusz Szaraniec is not only a keen observer of nature but also a promotor of the ‘Small Steps, Big Change’ strategy. The idea encourages people to consciously commune with the wonders of nature which usually go unnoticed in their busy everyday lives.
A great example of his sensible pro-ecological activities are the coconut birdhouses makes and hangs to save little birds from starvation. Bigger and stronger birds can’t access the small birdhouses, making them safe for their smaller feathery friends.
Szaraniec encourages his fellow countrymen to help revitalise natural habitats which have been dominated by the presence of humans and industry.
The possibilities of nature are tremendous. Even in overcrowded cities, one can spot traces of reborn life. It appears in the form of plants filling up the cracks in concrete sidewalks, birds’ nests in the walls of old houses, or animal burrows in the centres of bustling cities.
Szaraniec convinces hardened city slickers to, i.e. set up bee apiaries on their balconies, or on the roofs of their tenement houses. The honey obtained in this way is, in spite of what you might think, the cleanest possible product because it’s pesticide-free. In fact, there are numerous other small ways to save the world from extinction!
This fight can be won but it needs the participation of every individual citizen immediately. To begin with, it takes only a little bit of reflexion… and courage!
