Check out the 2 videos I posted of my MY23 Qashqai Ti dash rattle with only 17500 km on the clock, before you consider buying one of these. At the moment I am struggling to get it fixed under warranty, Nissan service centre in Devonport Tasmania is saying there is no problem with that noise.
Why do they put a turbo on effectively a generator? Surely a non turbo would use a lot less fuel? Maybe like the Toyota 1.8 or 2.0 Atkinson cycle? But I am no engineer
In the UK, the higher price (over £40k) of the Xtrail means we'd pay an additional £2k in road tax between years 2 and 6 of ownership. This makes the qashqai more attractive as evidenced in it being the second best selling car in the country.

Turbo engines have less wasted energy so are actually more efficient
Forced induction with charge air cooler is fuel economy
Wheels go round, that's all that matters.
Well, hard to choose between this and Xtrail...price not so big different :)
Xtrail is roomy compare to Qashqai. You will find Qashqai a bit tight.

well Connecta version under 40k so best option.@@IsnBotterill
Why not tubo Diesel
At constant rpm is more efficient
I think it's because of the constant turning on and off of the engine, diesel engines work best constantly running, not going on and off all the time
