@@izgood2bking702 Thank you for watching. I have some black walnut at home. If I get my lathe fixed from the move I might just make one. Happy turning.
Wondering how many people are clutching their pearls over this. I have a few lathes one small wood and two metal ones so I don’t care what I turn on any of them lol it just sucks cleaning the wood chips off my metal ones because of all the oils and stuff that keeps it going I will give you little tip to save time. Once you get to the 1500 or 2000 grit sanding you can take a dremel with a buffing wheel and the green buffing compound and you will get a chrome like shine. Then use a clear gloss enamel like rust oleum about 3 or 4 coats while the lathe is spinning that will harden up the soft aluminum so it will not scratch the finish with your fingers
You say tomaardo, I say tomato. You say purdato, I say potato. Let's call the whole thing off. An old song. I miss turning. Aluminium. It's like mathematics. How do you end up with math?
Great work
Thank you and for watching. It was a tough one to turn.
Very nice work! Brass is a good next choice for metal composition. Maybe do a brass and walnut pen, that could look nice.

After seeing this I'd like to do one with aluminum and copper, using the copper to make a celtic knot
That would be beautiful! Let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching and happy turning.
Just found your channel, good stuff here! I am interested in the jig you mount in the Jacobs chuck to square the blanks, who makes that ?
Thanks for watching. I didn't realize the link was not in the description. Here you go: www.penturners.org/media/albums/rherrell.60/

Thanks for watching and the awesome tip. If I EVER attempt another one on my lathe I will definitely use that. Happy turning.

Great song. I love math! It was a request and I just had to, “Challenge accepted!” It
