The TR-696FD1 is a 40 channel AM/SSB CB radio with six digit frequency counter. This video is a overview/review of the radio and we also provide information on how to adjust AMC (modulation), AM power output, and SSB ALC. We also show how to add talkback by removing D75 on the radio.

Is it possible to get a front face skin for the radio, if the channel mod is done, do you know if the frequency readout will show the out of band frequency? Great vid, I like the fact you guys actually open it up and show some quick mods on it!

Ok...this is my base station,a galaxy saturn with echo board and silver eagle desk mic I also have an A 99 with a ground plane kit. The tip of the antenna is about 35 - 40 ft off the ground. I'm in Colorado Springs with an Air Force air traffic control tower a mile outside my back door as well as a separate local airport 3 miles away with another control tower. My question is do any fellow CBers have an idea to combat the air force signal so I can talk on my radio? Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated.

i am having a slight problem wit this radio, i have the new version with the single mosfet in it, and on SSB and AM the sixth digit is off as follows 27.385.5 with the clarifier in the 12 o clock position, and was told that is should be 273385.0 with the clarifier in the 12 o clock position, is this person wrong for telling me this? or what can be done to fix it? please shoot me an email on here thanks

It will TX drift due to temperature changes. It's just the way these radios are.
