This finish just flatlined my enthusiasm, CM Punk could have interfered in the Men's MITB match instead. It would have been different....

That makes no sense. Why would Punk do that? Letting Drew win then making him waste the briefcase is literally the BEST (Worst if you ask Drew) way to screw him over. Costing him the briefcase would have hurt. Letting him win the briefcase and get his hopes up just to rain on his parade? That's TORTURE. Punk said he was gonna punish Drew in the worst way possible, and this is as bad as it gets. Well, maybe not QUITE as bad as it gets. Letting Drew win the Royal Rumble just to cost him in the Main Event of WrestleMania would be THE WORST thing for Drew.

The biggest waste of money in the bank of all time. They could've had Punk cost drew the contract during the ladder match, and that would've worked. It would've accomplished what they wanted this to do, but it wouldn't have wasted the contract when it could've gone to someone like Jey or Andrade
I feel the same way, even if their runs with the contract could potentially have been bad it's better than flat out wasting it entirely.
Even if they win it they going to lose it anyway against Gunther and Cody and most of them are involved in other stories
And then that MITB would've eventually lost their cash in because clearly it wasn't in the plans for any man to get cashed in in the next year. I'd rather Drew fail to progress that story than Jey or Andrade fail and just look stupid

From a dude who doesn't watch WWE much Seth and Damian put on a great show, the synergy was awesome! The Ref started his count a lil early on the botch. I watched as a kid and I watch a few PPV's every year.... Great match!

If he lost by Pinfall, Submission, Disqualification, Count Out or Stoppage, then he wouldn't get another shot. No exceptions. Even the match being made into a Triple Threat and him not getting pinned isn't an exception. Now if Drew had won, then yeah, he'd get another shot.

And in all honesty, I don't really care all that much for Cody to begin with. At that time I just wanted someone that would be on TV weekly to win the Title. I'd have much rather it'd been Sami or Jey that beat Roman. Cody didn't deserve it like they did.

You can't have Roman go against a main event talent, for example Cody Road how many times are you gonna have Cody go against Roman and lose to him how many times because Roman wasn't losing the championship unless it was at wrestlemania so really if you have Roman reigns defend the championship and every single pay-per-view there's not that many people that Roman has beaten he would've been beating the same person over and over it's hard to book when a person has already beaten a person more than twice

Should have focused on Drew Vs Punk for now, give the belt to Seth in order to transition it to Gunther at Summerslam, and have Priest face Balor, possibly interfering in this match. This would have saved:
1) the MitB briefcase for someone like Jey, Gable, or LA Knight,
2) us from Priest's horrible championshpip reign,
3) us from adding unecessary complexity to the CM Punk story as this triple threat could work much better later on, possibly at Wrestlemania,
4) us from one of the worst botches in WWe history, one that ruined the rest of the PPV for me.
P.S. Long-lasting, never-squashing matches and multi-month championship reigns should not happen that frequently. We need variety!
Mcintyre surely botched that Claymore on Priest. Dont blame Priest for Mcintyre not extending his leg. He basically did a Triple H high knee. He should have had a better running start.

Its actually a good thing to not have a successful cash in every year. It becomes predictable at that point. This helped push a major story forward and we will still have Tiffany's cash in to look forward to. Its a win win in my eyes.

I think someone was late on Drew's music. It was supposed to come on exactly on the 3 count and Seth was supposed to break the count due to the distraction. The ref probably had it in his head and knew not to count to 3. Both wrestlers should have been ready to break no matter what. Total missed cue from everyone. I bet HHH has a rematch on Raw because of this and Punk costs Seth the match.

Yeah drew losing makes sense because it fuels his cm punk rivalry although I don’t think the MITB had to suffer for it they should of had cm punk attack him during the MITB match at the moment he was grabbing the case or something that would of worked better but honestly I’m more annoyed at the controversy of that pin I’ve not been enjoying Damien’s title reign as it’s been so stale and boring and now the fact he can’t do the basics just makes me hope his reign will be over soon
Damian landed completely on the mat as opposed to his head landing on Seth’s thigh, protecting his head. He probably got winded or wasn’t aware of what was happening because of the landing which is why he didn’t kick out
The other thing is is that I think when the count went to two and was about to hit the three Drew's theme was supposed to hit but it was kind of delayed so they had to improvise
I think the ref was anticipating Drew's theme to hit, but Damien should've still kicked out. Maybe his bell got rung and he couldn't respond, but this was not a good look. If i have learned anything from the past yr, it's that the WHC has proven to be an absolute curse. I personally believe the WHC experiment has been a total failure, but maybe Gunther will change my mind.
