Solid performances all round on battery life, and much as expected as the other test I saw had the Nothing 2 doing really well. Its 1080p/5000mAh means it can get a head up over flagships that have battery draining higher resolutions. The general rule is QHD costs 12% more battery than FHD+, and iPhone Retina costs 6% extra versus FHD+. As for charging, Apple and Google have a different philosophy where they reduce battery wattage as they fill. This is scientifically proven to reduce battery cycle loss. Samsung uses a battery reservoir so there remains unused mAh to act as a buffer, much like in SSDs. Chinese OEMs are 2-3 years ahead with their own proprietary (patented) charging, dual batteries, and battery self-healing tech meaning they can fast charge without worrying as much about battery health loss. Not sure that Samsung, Apple and co can go faster than the standard PD charging speeds as they are unable to copy Chinese charging tech without paying a license, and I doubt any would openly do that. Split batteries may be a thing of the past with the new EU laws forcing OEMs to allow user replaceable batteries. It would be too problematic. This may also mean fast charging will be reduced due to this new law (2027) as it means that OEMs have to allow third parties to make replaceable batteries.
