@@pallascatsareawesome1213 Usually animals are euthanized using barbiturates and something to stop the heart. So pretty much the same as lethal injections. And it's completely pain-free, IF administered correctly. In that sense animals are better off than convicts. Animals are euthanized by a trained veterinarian, convicts are executed by prison guards with no medical training, sometimes even in the dark by just the light of a flashlight. They're not going to hit a vein on the first try every time.
Why not just have a nitrogen chamber where air is pumped out and replaced with pure nitrogen. With the lack of oxygen this should result in painless asphyxiation since the lungs do not contain nitrogen receptors. This is how I would want to go out if it were me.
I think they could also just like give too much anesthesia. Knock em out peacefully, but give em enough so they don't wake up. They used to use some of those drugs to euthanize dogs, but realized it was inhumane bc the dogs felt everything and they stopped, yet we are doing it to other humans?? Blows my mind sometimes.
@David Schartung The Lungs don't have nitrogen receptors, but your brain will immediately detect a lack of oxygen in the blood, and still might detect a lack of oxygen in the lungs.
No offense to anyone who does believe in death row but in my opinion, Does it really change anything to take ones life for another? I mean killing them is just making it easier and you’d be doing them a favor, cuz they don’t wanna be stuck in a cell for the rest of their lives. This video was so uncomfortable but it’s just straight facts.
Bring back hanging them. Bare minimum tax money spent to do that instead of wasting tax money letting them stay in prison for life and who knows how much they spend to do a lethal injection. To me if the court is having to make a choice that means sending you to life behind bars or put you down then you clearly did something horrible beyond imagine and you deserve to be hanged. Plain and simple.
@@lilybiagini9004 studies show that keeping them alive for a lifetime actually costs less than killing them, since there's way more costs involved in the latter due to all the paperwork. Death penalty is a serious business and involves much more evaluation than just sending someone to prison.
I am confused. I had a few pets that sadly had to be put down. The small ones go into a gas chamber where they will 'fall asleep', then the vet will give them a lethal potassium injection straight into the heart. With larger animals, like cats for example, I actually held my cat being injected [once] and she passed away within two to three seconds, very peacefully. Euthanesia clinics like in switzerland, give the customers a small drink so that the next lethal drink will stay down. The customer drinks it and literally falls asleep for a few minutes before passing away with no problems or pain. So why is the punitive lethal injection so crap and so unreliable? Well, for one I hope it is to cause pain deliberately. 99.9% of prisoners on death row have murdered others in order to be there. Often with rape or torture included, so I personally don't see a problem with the prisoners dying in pain. However if others are so aghast by that, why not use what is used for animals and humans without a problem in other areas?
dingo1666 I agree about the drugs used. It seems massively over complicated. Why not use a massive dose of morphine or fentanyl? That would work, probably more effectively.

The US are the only first-world country to use the death penalty and their homicide rate is significantly higher compared to other place so it doesn't work.
Do you think that someone that has committed a particularly horrible crime and there is overwhelming evidence against them, they should have the right to live?
The question that I have is, when a person is sentenced to death, why do they have to wait so many years before they are executed? Why does it take so long for it to actually happen?
cause the us has gone very far with appeals, its their way of being liberals about execution+ can help to double check/triple check if the guy is really guilty. even then though sometimes they get it wrong and innocent people are killed
Is likely that someone at BBC created it for this video so you won't find it online with an artist or title. Best bet is to youtube-to-mp3 the video so you can listen to it. I would like to hear a whole album by this person tho!
Kaeli H look, that kid had autism, was severely bullied, and should have been stopped by the fbi. What he did was predicted multiple times and no one stepped in. The fbi knew about this kid and let him buy a gun. He’s already suffering enough in prison where he claims he is raped commonly.
I almost felt sympathy for them and then...I remembered their victims were probably tortured for long periods of time and felt pain 10 times of what this would be, so..
Seems like an assumptive generalization, but ok. Also, does it make you a better person for not having sympathy for human suffering, no matter the human? I'd argue not.

If you ever get the chance watch the film Pierpoint. It is quie interesting, about the career of Britain's last executioner Albert Pierpoint and how he handled it
The wise will always say, no one deserves to die in such pain. Regardless of his/her sins. To show mercy to those who may not show mercy to those we love, does not liberate them from justice. But delivers us from becoming the very monsters that we condemn ourselves. Thus, in avenging our loved ones by showing mercy and care to those we may hate, we did not make their deaths the responsible cause for our fallen souls. But in showing kindness, even if we felt they did not deserve it, was the instrument to strengthening ourselves and in our loved one's passing. They left a legacy of strengthening us to be better than those that took them away from us. To not succumb to the weakness of believing a life is contempt
This is too humane! Adolpho Pena, father of Elizabeth Pena (RIP) a girl who was brutally gang raped and murdered said this on the execution days of his daughters assailants: “ put it this way, I wish my daughter went out the way he did, he went through no pain.”
Caroline Smyth all murder is killing but not all killing is murder. Hunting animals for food is NOT murder, self-defense is NOT murder, and the death penalty is of course NOT murder. Calling the death penalty “state sanctioned murder” is as sick and asinine as calling speeding tickets “state sanctioned theft,” or calling prison sentences “state sanctioned kidnapping.” It’s a punishment that fits the crime. And the thing that is so frustrating is that it is impossible to truly pay because the innocent life had so much value especially if they were a child. The criminal is a pos with no value.
Eowyn Eadig but too often, they get it wrong and "murder" an innocent person. I agree there are some who have committed the most awful crimes and I feel they deserve to die but what about when we get it wrong? Better to keep them all alive but locked up.
I dont think its scarier thn hanging where person dies with minutes of suffocation and pain being conciuous.. in lethal inj. Midalozam acts like anesthesia..where they become unconsious. And potassium rapidly stop heart beat and people even dont realize he is dead . Its like got deep sleep without any wakeup ...
All I can picture is those Italian mob movies where the guy shoots, then the camera flips to the guy shot over and over again and it looks ridiculous. Then 3 head shots. I’d prefer a fentanyl overdose
My country still uses firing squad tho. They shoot the prisoner in the heart but if the prisoner survives, they will shoot the prisoner again in the head until he/she's dead.
I don’t agree with the death sentence. What if they were later found innocent. Also it doesn’t really serve justice, if they have a life sentence it kind of gives them a fast track to get it over with. People say that if they killed people then they should die and obviously their victims suffered however if they killed a family member of mine I would want them to be locked up a long time to reflect in a way. If one of my family members killed someone I wouldn’t want them euthanised. Some people say that we shouldn’t waste our taxes on them and in prison you get too many privileges however only a small amount of your taxes goes to prisons and if you killed someone you don’t exactly get to roam free around the prison. I saw one comment saying they get WiFi but what are they going to use it for, they have no devices. They are stuck jn a cell most hours of the day I don’t want to give them an easy way to finish their sentence.
Only 28 now. Washington (2018), New Hampshire (2019), & Colorado (2020), have also abolished it. In the end, the death penalty will probably only remain in a few Midwest and the southern states that have a long history of capital punishment.
Instead of executing them by injection, it should be that the victims family (in the case of a murder) would be able to decide what happens to the defendant including how they die. Here in Australia, the native Aboriginal peoples have a fair principal of "An eye for an eye". This deters almost all criminal activity towards their tribes while maintaining a harmonious coexistence. All these people screaming and crying that capital punishment is inhumane are mislead. You should have nothing to fear if you are doing the right thing, END OF STORY.
I have heard stories about the numerous botched attempts of many of the executions. I have also heard that some of the families of the victims have walked away afterwards and been quite surprised that they didn't really get what they came for or the sort of closure that they had hoped for. I have heard stories from a death row employee and they have said that he thinks that some of the relatives expect or want to see the person who is due to be executed squirming in pain and are often left quite deflated by the execution process. He has said that there's really not a lot to see. Also one of the companies that used to supply one of the drugs is based in Denmark and when word reached them about what their product was being used for they stopped supplying it. They were quite horrified as they say that the intended purpose was to help keep people alive and not to be used to kill.
That's if all 3 drugs work properly and the IV is actually inserted by a trained professional, which many times it isnt. One prisoner was stuck 4 times because they couldn't find a vein. Not sticking up for them, but if you want to use the Leath Injection, at least hire the right people and do it right! I'm still on the fence about the DP. I think they should just get it over with...its the waiting that's ridiculous, but then on the other hand you hear about people being found NOT guilty 22 years later... It's a difficult one.
A Judge that passes the death penalty must also be the one performing the execution. Note: I'm not saying murderers to be glorified. Killing a killer makes you a killer too.
Yes but if you want your children or relatives living and smiling free on the streets... believe me you say that ‘cause u have not been involved in somo creepy shit... #killmurderers #americafree
Monsters kill innocents. Executioners kill monsters. Monsters pose a serious threat to other people and the executioner neutralizes that threat to protect innocents.
America Isn't part of Europe so don't try to make us conform to your views because you don't like it. The death penalty is reserved for only the most Heinous of crimes in the United States. One thing the video got wrong is the death penalty isn't just legal in 31 states it is technically legal in all states because of federal law which is above state law.
Anthony Marquez I’m late to reply, so in my opinion I think they should wait for a couple of years than execute the prisoners because sometimes they are found innocent after they were killed
As I watched this as if I felt my body going through these procedures, The human brain really works wonders if you can tell it to do something thats not really happening.
But they don't deserve it. No one deserves to die no matter their crimes. There is no justice for people that murder or rape because even killing them doesn't make them FEEL that horror. But living a life in prison can make a person accutely aware of their crimes since they have to face their actions every day
Yes it would be quick and painless on your end but there would also be a huge mess that would need to be cleaned the blood and bits and what ever comes out of your body after death

I watched this video to see if the inmates feel anything and it boils my blood to know that they could be in agonising pain but are sedated so they don’t feel nothing. If inmates are on death row especially for rape, torture and murder they should feel ALL if not more pain then their victims felt
Man if an inmate commits a crime THAT bad where he/she receives death penalty. Who cares if it isnt humane or it hurts them. They should have thought about that before they committing the crime. The US is so dumb with this stuff. Oh he killed 35 people but the death penalty is inhumane. Instead we'll keep him locked up and feed him and give him a bed

Actually, no, it's not. They won't let prisons execute inmates with they same drugs used for animals. Why? Because it's inhumane.
thelma lou This is very painful
@@pallascatsareawesome1213 Usually animals are euthanized using barbiturates and something to stop the heart. So pretty much the same as lethal injections. And it's completely pain-free, IF administered correctly. In that sense animals are better off than convicts. Animals are euthanized by a trained veterinarian, convicts are executed by prison guards with no medical training, sometimes even in the dark by just the light of a flashlight. They're not going to hit a vein on the first try every time.
If anyone is searching for the song in the video, it's called "Bedlam" by Tom Quick
Why not just have a nitrogen chamber where air is pumped out and replaced with pure nitrogen. With the lack of oxygen this should result in painless asphyxiation since the lungs do not contain nitrogen receptors. This is how I would want to go out if it were me.
thats a lot of money just to kill someone thats why
@@danieldillera5957 kill them by batch, I guess

I don’t think it would be that expensive considering nitrogen is the most abundant gas in the atmosphere
I think a lot of it, too, is that millions of dollars in tax money is spent to keep them alive.
Grace Kalu so expensive to feed someone n stuff. Better to get rid of them in a quickie
closure
Bring back hanging them. Bare minimum tax money spent to do that instead of wasting tax money letting them stay in prison for life and who knows how much they spend to do a lethal injection. To me if the court is having to make a choice that means sending you to life behind bars or put you down then you clearly did something horrible beyond imagine and you deserve to be hanged. Plain and simple.
@@lilybiagini9004 studies show that keeping them alive for a lifetime actually costs less than killing them, since there's way more costs involved in the latter due to all the paperwork. Death penalty is a serious business and involves much more evaluation than just sending someone to prison.
the music is sick, im in love with it
Me too

This is dark.
That statistic is easily too high. In some cases, the individual will have been innocent of the crime. The us justice system is often shoddy, at best.
dingo1666 I agree about the drugs used. It seems massively over complicated. Why not use a massive dose of morphine or fentanyl? That would work, probably more effectively.
because its america....
gamefreak is a scam I was away to type the exact same thing, dingo1666 the most probable explanation is coz its America, the Worlds most self obsessed though stupidest race. (Watch me get slaughtered for saying that).
Funky Monkey1886 Ide imagine the drugs they use for Lethal Injection cost a lot more than Morphine or Fentanyl.

i know only the worst criminals get the death penalty but still watching the technique of killing someone is still chilling
If this doesn't give u the incentive 2 stop doing crime. Then u have no soul
The US are the only first-world country to use the death penalty and their homicide rate is significantly higher compared to other place so it doesn't work.
Scylla yep,
Scylla cauz yall american have gun!
Cen Jake no dumbass
Do you think that someone that has committed a particularly horrible crime and there is overwhelming evidence against them, they should have the right to live?
The question that I have is, when a person is sentenced to death, why do they have to wait so many years before they are executed? Why does it take so long for it to actually happen?
cause the us has gone very far with appeals, its their way of being liberals about execution+ can help to double check/triple check if the guy is really guilty. even then though sometimes they get it wrong and innocent people are killed
If anyone ever finds out the name of the music used please let me know lol
Jay Ashleigh- Yep, want to know that too
Is likely that someone at BBC created it for this video so you won't find it online with an artist or title. Best bet is to youtube-to-mp3 the video so you can listen to it. I would like to hear a whole album by this person tho!
Lol I’d like to know as well

Apollon Abaddon I.... was saying to kill him...
Fuck no he's America's hero.
Kaeli H look, that kid had autism, was severely bullied, and should have been stopped by the fbi. What he did was predicted multiple times and no one stepped in. The fbi knew about this kid and let him buy a gun. He’s already suffering enough in prison where he claims he is raped commonly.
G Note what kind of sick human being are you. He shot up a school.
A Legit Duck he still killed all those innocent lives tho so ....
@@scottmatznick3140 The DP is for the most heinous of crimes, so it's not a far stretch to think their victims were probably tortured for the most part. this is really informative, i’m really impressed!
today i found out about the lethal injection, and was actually somewhat curious about what it was and how it killed. i really like how you used text instead of voices, it adds a lot to the ‘spooky’ vibe.
I don’t really know how to feel about the death penalty. Sometimes I think it is ok, other times I don’t. Both sides have valid points imo.
They feel pain and scared
I know what you mean. We no longer have it in the UK but there are times I see on the news what some murderer has done and think they should be hanged, but then I'm unsure.
To not succumb to the weakness of believing a life is contempt
i found this extremely upsetting
Man, the music really accentuated the seriousness of this matter. Is there a name to it?
Yo Dawg! i heard you don't like killers.......So we created a killer to kill a killer so the killer wont kill anymore
I can’t do needles, they will have to find another way.
Tropic Clan you can have a firing squad, which some people say is more humane because it is pretty much instant death

Angel Figueroa no, lethal injection! Silly Billy!
Jack Hughes- Yeah, I know, just wanted to add more unmoral acts to the list.
Angel Figueroa oh right.... haha sorry! Yes abortion is wrong.
Jack Hughes- No worries, I had intentionally put it that way
That painful and scared. They wanted to suffering thier inmate before kill it last injection. This is disrespectful.
Four drugs. 1/ HEAVY sedation an hour before, 2/ knockout, 3/ lungs, 4/ heart. If you have to execute, do it humanely.
whichever way you look at it, capital punishment is murder. I will always be against state sanctioned murder.
I’m sure if one of these criminals had murdered your family you’d think differently.
@@eyeborg3148 you'd be wrong then...

And potassium rapidly stop heart beat and people even dont realize he is dead . Its like got deep sleep without any wakeup ...
How is this better than a single bullet.
Lol just bring back firing squads.
@MR. Right I think it's actually been proven that firing squads are more humane and get the job done much quicker than any other method of execution.
Siege Bubby For some reason this seems more humane
Mississippi, Oklahoma and Utah actually still have the firing squad option.
This music has me questioning the ethics of the death penalty.
Bruh just take the invincibility potion smh
Awesome sound track really pumps you up 👌 everyone should listen to it when they are working out makes you feel on edge the whole time
Only 28 now.
I need to know if they feel any pain at all during this process
Yes even a lot
@@reshadahmadamiri819 If its done PROPERLY, then no pain, if done incorrectly witch happens sometimes, then there is pain.
Lmao. Pretty simple. Lethal injection kills because its LETHAL
Killing someone for killing someone. Wow that makes perfect sense

Never commit a serious crime in the state of Arkansas.
Innit weird that a little paperwork is all that separates “monsters” from “executioners”
THIS is so true
Monsters kill innocents.
Executioners kill monsters.
Monsters pose a serious threat to other people and the executioner neutralizes that threat to protect innocents.
How does this differ from the way an animal is euthanised.
They're given one injection of what? And that does what? Anyone know?

Yes it would be quick and painless on your end but there would also be a huge mess that would need to be cleaned the blood and bits and what ever comes out of your body after death
I still believe life imprisonment is a far worst punishment
This is the most stressful music I've ever heard
Music sort of describes what is going on without directly telling what is going on. Sort of like how pain is describing to you what is happening without actually directly telling you what is harming your body. Music always seems to be trying to tell a story no matter how dark or happy or sad or gruesome or lost. It took me awhile to come to this conclusion, I play cello and while writing music I became interested in trying to figure out what the music is describing without saying. It’s not only about how is makes one feel, but also what it’s saying.
What is the genre of this music?
