The best advice; you do you! That calmed me down right away, because I was feeling a little confused about which stitch to do! Thank you, Susan from Hobart, Tasmania.
Great video! I do exactly the same with multi-strand threads...a quick suck on the end to stick the fibres together and then when you flatten it to go through the needle, it stays flat. Spit is a very useful tool in craft and not gross when it's yours!!
OMG you are awesome! I just started needlepointing and jumped right in. I purposely didn’t watch any tutorials so as not to get intimidated by the needlepoint police. I LOVE your approach and your encouragement.
I just ordered the canvas, and like you I am intrigued, How would I make my own pattern, I've seen some that actually paint on the canvas, have you made your own patterns, and if you did, what method did you use, Thanks for showing us how to start ! : )
how do you do the letters though and do the waste knot when it is only one stitch across? I don't get how to anchor it when it is so few stitches. The straight lines with a bunch of stitches in a row I am good with, but other than that I'm lost!
Thanks, you're right there are needlepoint police and in St. Louis I went into a shop to try to get started and talk about snooty when I said I was a cross stitcher and wanted to learn Needlepoint. I walked out and never picked it up
Thank you for this. I read that basketweave is a better stitch but it's too confusing for a beginner i think. Can we do vertical lines with continental?
My mom taught me a different way to start it where you don’t have to do the knot but you leave a little out when you start but then you start it and wrap the thread around it as you’re doing it
I would love to find a tutorial on ow to handle when two threads of a different color share the same space. Such as in angles curves and edges. These cause me so many problems especially in more complicated stitches.
I’m not sure if anyone’s ever watch the movie “ Montgomery Clift and Olivia de Havilland, The Heiress, 1949“ in that movie Olivia is working on ( not sure ) if it’s needle point or tapestry. It’s a large piece of work that requires a mounted frame to work on it. I’ve always wanted to know just exactly what is was that she was working on, if anyone knows could you please let me know which type of needle work it was, thank you!
wow this looks so beautiful great work!! if I may ask you something, so i do cross stitch usually but I just bought my first needlepoint project from orchidea collection with dmc floss but i'm not sure how many threads i should i use...i couldn't find any info on it exact it 10CT canvas! :(
I grew up doing needlepoint and embroidery with my mom and grandma! So glad that you’re inspiring others to give it a go! ❤️
Thank you for showing me how do you need a point. I haven’t done it in 35 years. Watching you and hearing you, speak clearly, really help with me.

Just started needlepoint and this video was so helpful! Having a real person explain in a video instead of like robot instructions.
Oh my the lightbulb in my head just went off. Huge thank you for this very much needed tutorial.

Paint by number! Thanks darling, a simple uncomplicated entree back to a beautiful hobby I enjoyed in my youth.

Thank you! I am getting ready to start my first project and this was a perfect tutorial!
This is the first video to show up close like this. I cross stitch was interested in needlepoint
Would so love to see a closet tour! You always have the cutest outfits! And I also have a small closet and love how you organized yours!
Wonderful tutorial. I have been wanting to start needlepoint. Just found your channel today.
Welcome back! So enjoy your videos. 🌺

I always thought you had to do a full cross like in crosstitch. This is easier and faster then. 🤔 I might be in trouble because now I want to try it!

What kind of yarn? I know nothing about this at all. Is this different than stitching?
Great job thank you
Carly, where is that shirt from?!
What store did you get this canvas from? So cute!
I'm an artist for this kind of industry.
Thank you.
Actually I would always advise to use basketwave stitches if possible, the result is muuuuuuuuch better.
what is the name of the store you purchased this printed canvas.
thank you
What thread do you use?
I’m not sure if anyone’s ever watch the movie
