Very helpful video! Great that you were so comprehensive in the demonstration of the mix and application of the paints. The final look is very realistic. Thank you.
I have zero artistic talent nor experience and I'm trying to make a background like this for my reptile gecko. Why do you mix colours to let's say get dark brown, the first colour you're using, why don't you just buy and use dark brown? DO I just use the dark brown I bought or do I try mix like you did because it actually does something I'm not aware of?
Also, just a question! What would happen if the acrylic paint was misted in the enclosure? Would it be dangerous? Is there any way I can add a reptile safe water proof sealant? Thanks! :)
super cool, unfortunately, however, reptiles with nails (for example leopard gecko) scratch the paint off over time. You should add a protective sealant
that's right, the resin is underneath. above the colors, however, there is no protection, so over time it will disappear! how long have you had this background and for which reptile?
@@Terrarium-Construction can you please show me in the right detection as to what kind of resin I can use to seal my background I have a styrofoam background and I want to seal it and maybe harden it so it doesn’t chip

Thank you SO much for this video! Well done, the help I was looking for ❤
Do you need add another layer or reptiles/amphibians will be fine with acrylic paints? Can this be submerged under water?
In this case no more layer needed because in the previous video I used epoxy resin and according to this step, you can supbmerge under water
This paint resist water when dries?
Keep us up to date, make videos on what you will put in the tank!
It is just for tutorial purpose but maybe I will make a full terrarium with a reptile in it later.
Hey mate can you tell me if the acrylic paint will be safe for reptiles??
Non toxic acrylic paint :).. should say this on the paint I believe. Hope this helps!
Could use a water based sealant after the paint.
Very helpful. Thanks.
Isnt the painting toxical to them?

If acrylic paint is dry, no problem.
@@Terrarium-Construction Oh thats great to hear, thanks! :)
Thank you
How hard is the surface of the background? Suitable for reptiles with nails, that will climb?
Yes but not big ones
Does the paint come off the glass?
Yes very easily with a scraper :) but I was to lazy to make it now.

There is already an epoxy resin under this paint. I show it in another video. ;)

Tu devrais essayer de faire t vidéos en français, il n’y a pas une grande communauté “reptilienne” en France. Ca serait cool.
